These were the only shoes I took on my 7- day trip: walking, hiking, ice, snow, rain, airports, shopping on cobblestone streets- you name it, I did it and my feet felt great. Fortunately I did not experience standing in deep snow or excessive rain, so I ca n't speak to how waterproof they are in extreme climates- but the limited rain and snow I encountered my feet stayed dry. Traction was good on snow and ice, I did n't slip or slide once. Use the website measurements to choose your size- it was spot on. These boots look amazing on- they do not make your feet look big and the cream color with the pink laces... cute, cute, cute!!! I was part of a Montana hiking group and Merrill was always their first choice, so I was delighted to get them for him. My only objection is that we had very poor customer service. These my guy ’s third pair in twenty some years. They are still in the box because his second pair are getting rough looking but do not leak. He will wear them until they do. I happen to see them standing in the corner looking like something attacked them. One was ragged in the top so I bought a new pair. I found out what happened. Brida, our blue healer puppy was having a good time with Dad ’s boot. We have beef cattle and live Up North Minnesota where there is black dirt and clay underneath. Now that is MUCK when it gets wet and will pull your boot right off. Usually manure is mixed in with that muck. Now these boots keep your feet dry and haven ’ t lost one yet.

Best winter hunting boots you can get. I 've been using mine for about 10 years now, and buy a set for each of my teens each year. If you get the fit right, they do n't pull your socks down when you walk. Very good for walking unlink the tradition tall boots.
