The shoe is good, stable- even as an overpronator it kept things stable. I had to size up, too narrow and tight on the forefoot. I 'm not sold on HOKA's looks, but it was the second best trail running shoe I tried. The Saucony Xodus 4 fit a bit better for me- They seemed to be as stable as the Speedgoat while not being as firm. The xodus had more cushion and seemd to have better energy return. And quite a bit more `` discreet '' too, but form over function, I 'd kept those if it was n't for the Saucony

Bought a pair of crazy electric orange Speedgoat 5's last year, and they were a bit too wild. Comfortable, but wild. These Stinson 7's are just what the doctor ordered, and go great with my Longhorn apparel. No self- respecting Aggie will ever wear these. Hook 'em.

I recently got my 1st pair base off my own research prior to ordered. I am thankful every day since, they seem to almost mold to my foot every step I take, the comfort is next level and the design is inline with the every day culture we live, priced phenomenal, literally changed my cardio workouts in a way no other shoe to date has done, these will win you over in more ways than one if you are not already a fan! Even sent a pair to my brother who is a hard shoe critic, Enjoy!

For the North American market the UG4 is a quantum leap forward from the previously released UG2. Relieve Sphere and optiFOAM specifically are new components that take an already established UG line up a full level to being a serious competitor. Visually UG4 looks overconstructed, there is a lot going on, but it is remarkably lighter in hand and underfoot than I anticipated. Weighing in at 10oz UG4 hits all of the desirables: durability, stability, responsive, confidence- inspiring, and balanced. This shoe checks all the boxes and passes the all- seasons checklist for running in the Cascades. Another homerun from Salomon!

[ What an amazing pair of shoes! I wore them on a long weekend trip to New Hampshire. My hubby and I do a lot of hiking/ trail running and we love to explore new places each time we go. I was beyond pleased with these shoes. The fit was true to size( I am a size 8), the cushion was supportive and made it feel like I was walking on air. Each step literally had a bounce to it. The fabric was breathable and kept my feet cool. I was comfortable and pain free despite walking miles each day through different types of terrain. The traction was really good too and I had no issue climbing rocks even when it was wet out. I do love the colors and felt the shoe looked really stylish on. The off white color did get a bit dirty from some muddy conditions though. I found that spot cleaning with soap and water did a great job at getting the dirt off. I would definitely recommend these- they are the only shoes I will wear on a trail from now on.

[ I was thrilled to receive the Brooks Cascadia 19 in the mail. Brooks have always been my go- to shoes for running, so these fit right into my collection. I typically wear a size 6. 5 in shoes, but I always size up by half a size for running shoes. The size 7 in this particular shoe fit perfectly. They have just enough space to keep me comfortable on both longer and shorter runs across all types of terrain. The design of these shoes is top- of- the- line — they ’ re well made and offer great support. The mesh fabric makes them especially breathable. They ’ re also very comfortable. In fact, the comfort level is my favorite part! The lacing system is unique in these shoes, and I really like it. The elastic loops that are incorporated make lacing a breeze. I ’ m usually drawn to brightly colored shoes, so the colorway of this pair is a bit out of my comfort zone. However, they ’ ve been great for trail running and everyday wear since the gray/beige tones hide dirt well. I ’ d be lying if I said I didn ’ t miss big pops of color — they ’ re a little drab and honestly look like something my husband would pick for himself. If I could change one thing, I ’ d add more feminine colors, but that ’s just my personal preference! The neon yellow accent is very neutral. These shoes check all the boxes for comfort, durability, and performance — I can ’ t wait to put lots of miles on these!

[ When I opened up the box, I was blown away by the design of these. The color combo is absolutely eye catching. They even caught my husband ’s eye. I wear a size 7 in shoes and go up a half size for sneakers so the 7. 5 was perfect for me. They fit like a glove and I wear them every day. I run twice a day plus walks with my little one and they have held up so well. My favorite thing about the Cascadia 19s is the material. Even in the crazy heat, my feet don ’ t feel like they ’ re overworked. They are well- supported. I highly recommend not just for running but casual wear too- you will get compliments. Don ’ t sleep on this pair!

I am typically a size 9M in all my Hokas but had to order a 9. 5M in this style as it ran a bit short. I broke my ankle over 18 months ago and I live in all my Hokas. They got me thru some tough times. Love them all!

Loved the previous versions of the Speedgoat, but the 6 felt “ off ” to me, and had durability issues so I switched over to a different brand. Luckily the Speedgoat 7 fixes many of my previous complaints and is a light, cushioned trail shoe that still provides a good ground feel. I have long, square shaped feet and the toe box felt slightly narrow; sizing up made the whole shoe too big, so I stuck with my traditional size and did a heel lock lace tie which helped keep the foot in place!

I just ran a 50km race with 5, 000 feet of elevation gain and loss wearing these shoes. I was nervous that the toe box height would be too short, but that didn ’ t end up being an issue at all. I didn ’ t get a single blister after getting them from other trail shoes. The front toe shield definitely saved my big toe more than once after slamming into some rocks. I ’ d recommend them for lighter mud and snow conditions, but overall they were very comfortable and fast. They fit true to size to my vaporflys. Very satisfied and an eye catching piece.

[ As someone who has been road running for years but is just starting to get more into trails, these shoes are amazing. GhostTrail
[ I ’ ve put about 50 miles on my Brooks Ghost Trail shoes so far, and they ’ ve quickly become my go- to for just about any run. What stands out most is how easily they transition between surfaces — I can start on the road, hit a few miles of dirt or gravel, and head back to pavement without ever feeling like I ’ m in the wrong shoe. They ’ re comfortable, stable, and handle everything really smoothly. The cushioning feels exactly like what you ’ d expect from the Ghost line — soft and balanced with that nice, smooth ride. On longer runs, they stay comfortable and keep my legs feeling good even after a mix of terrain. Traction has been great on gravel, packed dirt, and light trails. They ’ re not meant for super technical or muddy trails, but for everyday trail running or mixed routes, they grip well and feel stable. After 50 miles, the outsole still looks solid and the upper hasn ’ t shown any signs of wear, so durability seems good so far. Fit is consistent with other Ghost models. I went with my usual size, and they fit perfectly — secure in the heel, roomy in the toe box, and breathable enough for warm runs. Overall, if you ’ re a Ghost fan who likes to mix in some trail miles, this shoe is a winner. It ’s super versatile, comfortable, and gives you that classic Ghost feel with just the right amount of off- road capability

[ I 've been looking for a good alternative to multisurface running trail shoes and these hit the mark! They transition great from trail to road and back again. I was skeptical of the large heel padding at first, but it does n't catch on rocks or roots and makes for an easy and comfortable run even on rough terrain. And while they grip great on mud and slippery rocks, it does n't feel like running in golf shoes while on the roads. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by these and have been wearing them every other day of running. They are also comfortable for house wear or yard work if you 're not into trail or ultrarunning.

I ’ ve been running long trail miles in these shoes and I absolutely love them. From the very first run, the comfort stood out — the cushioning feels plush underfoot without being overly soft or unstable, which makes these great for long days out on the trail. They don ’ t feel bulky or heavy. The fit feels true to size and secure, and the outsole handles varied terrain with confidence thanks to the Contagrip lugs — I ’ ve been able to run everything from smooth dirt roads to rocky singletrack without any major slip- ups. Overall, these have become my go- to shoe for long trail runs. I ’ d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a cushioned trail shoe that can go the distance.

[ I ’ ve been running in the Men ’s Cascadia 19 GTX for a few weeks now, and I ’ m genuinely impressed. The Gore- Tex lining keeps my feet completely dry even on muddy trails and during rainy runs, while still allowing breathability. The updated midsole feels more responsive and cushioned compared to earlier versions, offering great comfort on uneven terrain. Traction is solid, and the lugs grip well without feeling bulky. I also appreciate the secure fit — it hugs the foot nicely without being too tight. Overall, it ’s become my go- to trail shoe for wet and unpredictable conditions.
5
Siva
[ The Cascadia 19 GTX is an exceptional hiking shoe that delivers outstanding support and comfort — perfectly suited for Portland ’s summer trails. Portland in July offers warm, dry, and sunny conditions, and only occasional rainfall. These conditions make it an ideal time for hiking in local hiking trails like in areas like Forest Park, the Columbia River Gorge, or Mount Tabor. But even with mostly dry weather, sudden changes can occur in our area, and that ’s where the Cascadia 19 GTX shines. The shoe features an innovative Trail Adapt system, built for durability and stability. Its rugged outsole rubber provides excellent traction, whether you 're trekking on dry gravel or navigating a surprise summer shower. The integrated flexible rock plate adds a protective layer in the sole, enhancing stability on uneven terrain — something I truly value after past slips on wet trails. The GORE- TEX upper, bonded seamlessly with the shoe, makes it both breathable and waterproof — a must- have for Portland ’s unpredictable microclimates. Brooks ’ signature DNA Loft v3 cushioning — a blend of foam, rubber, and air — offers plush comfort and responsive support, especially in the midsole. It ’s noticeably soft and supportive, making long hikes feel effortless. Despite its rugged build, the Cascadia 19 GTX is lightweight and flexible, making it a joy to wear on both urban trails and backcountry adventures. Having said all the good things about the shoe If am going to nitpick the only thing is that I am not a fan of the color scheme of my pair. It was more appealing in the picture than in person. In summary, this shoe is a reliable companion for Portland ’s summer hikes. It handles both dry and damp conditions with ease, offers excellent traction, and keeps your feet comfortable and protected all day long.
5
SVS
[ I absolutely love these shoes. Brooks is always my go to brand for comfort and I ’ ve always wanted an option for when I ’ m out hiking or running in the rain. These shoes fit the bill to a tee. They are true to size and like most Brooks are super comfy. I love that they are waterproof so I can feel comfortable wearing them out in the rain and I love the look and design. I wouldn ’ t wear these casually as the waterproof aspect does prevent some ventilation from getting in, but I ’ d defo keep these in my rotation for rainy days, trail hikes, or camping adventures. Overall a great pair of shoes.
5
Jamie
[ I ’ ve been really impressed with the Brooks Cascadia 19 GTX. Right out of the box, I loved the style — sleek enough to wear out running errands, yet rugged enough for my training runs. The design strikes that rare balance between function and everyday wearability. From a performance standpoint, these shoes delivered exactly what I needed. I used them on both pavement and dirt trails, and they felt equally supportive across surfaces. The cushioning is excellent — enough to absorb impact on longer runs without feeling bulky — and I noticed the difference in how much better my knees felt afterward. The upper fabric feels high- quality and durable, with just the right amount of structure to keep my feet supported, even on uneven terrain. The GTX version also held up well in wet conditions, keeping my feet dry without overheating. Overall, the Cascadia 19 GTX is a well- designed, versatile shoe that supports my training needs and looks great while doing it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trail shoe that performs well and doesn ’ t compromise on comfort or style.

HonestViews
[ My husband ’s been wearing the Cascadia 19 GTX for a while, and the fit is spot on — no rubbing, no pressure points, no break- in needed. He went straight onto a rocky trail the first day and had zero issues. The heel stays secure, the toe box has room without feeling loose, and the shoes feel stable and comfortable without being bulky. Out of all the Brooks models we ’ ve tried, this one tops them for comfort. The design is practical yet stylish, with a deep tread that grips well on rocks and mud. It looks like a serious trail shoe but still has a clean, appealing look. We especially appreciated that the foxing( the strip near the midsole) isn ’ t bright white but a cream- brown color, which means wear and tear will not ruin the appearance over time. The Gore- Tex fabric keeps water out completely — he ’s gone through puddles and wet grass with dry feet every time. The only drawback is that his feet sweat a little on warm days, not enough to cause blisters but noticeable. A bit more breathability in the upper would be the one thing I ’ d change, though it ’s a small trade- off considering the overall comfort, support, and durability. These shoes are reliable and holding up strong even with daily wear. They deliver both performance and appearance, which is rare. Bottom line: the Cascadia 19 GTX is a smart pick for anyone who needs gear that works hard and still looks good.

[ The fit was awesome, as I wear a 9. 5 and it was true to size. The react cushioning system was amazingly comfortable and the outsole had tons of grip for all surfaces. The shoe was cleverly designed with sleek and styling hits that made it not look like a trail shoe. The fabric was soft, flexible, breathable, and easy to clean. It had some surprising features like additional ball of foot cushioning support that made the shoe comfortable to wear all day. The shoe caters to your gait and provides the cushioning your body needs. What I liked most was the ball of foot cushioning and the addition of the react support sole. It made the shoe a go to for everyday wear!

[ The shoes were true to size and very comfortable. The design was very simple but pleasing to the eye. Fabric or the shoe is sturdy for indoor and outdoor. I like the overall look of the shoe and how comfortable they are. Although they are comfortable I could use a little bit more cushion for longer runs.

[ So for over 15 yrs I ’ ve been a fan of the Nike Pegasus. Whenever I ’ m in the market for a new running shoe or workout shoe, Nike Pegasus is always my go to. This updated version of the Nike Pegasus did not disappoint. The shoe is super comfortable and feels really good on my feet. [ These sneakers are great for running. Really good traction and bounce. They are very comfortable and they look awesome. Functional and the colors are classic. I love the material, all though they are a little tough wipe clean.

[ This shoe is very easy to wear. Overall it has the right amount of cushion, flexibility, and durability to feel confident on potentially unstable surfaces. The toe box is wide enough for stability but not so wide the foot slips. The material is breathable yet durable. The heel area is supportive but didn ’ t cause blisters. The design of the outsole is ideal for gripping different types of running surfaces. The tongue does feel and appear bulky at times but doesn ’ t interfere with the functional aspect. Most importantly — the reactx felt soft and comfortable underfoot with a good energy return without compromising stability. The shoe is lightweight. It worked well for the mildly technical trail runs as well as gravel and road surfaces I wore it on. I would, however, be hesitant to wear it for highly technical trails or wet/slushy conditions. This was my first experience with the Pegasus trail and overall it was very positive. I feel confident and natural in the shoes and will be putting more miles in them.

I bought these sneakers for work since I ’ m on concrete floors for 9- hour shifts, and they ’ ve been amazing. They feel like walking on marshmallows, super bouncy and cushioned…and they ’ ve been helping with my back/sciatic pain. The toe box is perfectly wide without feeling sloppy, and my usual size 9. 5 fit well. I also took them on a walk in the woods today and was impressed by how good the grip was on rocky terrain. I was a little nervous that the ankle gaiter would feel tight or uncomfortable, but it ’s actually really soft and stretchy. My ankles swell by the end of my shift and I have high volume feet and these shoes handle everything like a champ. I can ’ t tell you how long I e been searching for wide toe boxes that are actually wide with a zero drop cushioned sole. Overall, I ’ m extremely happy with them and will probably grab another pair for outside of work if I can find another coupon!

Just breaking in my Montrail Trinity AG Trail Shoes. Out of the box, this shoe checks all the boxes. The seamless mesh upper and overlays bode well for comfort and longevity. After sliding them on, literally, easy entry and hugged my foot( Navic Foot System). It's the little things about this shoe that I appreciate. As an middle aged runner, easy on and easy off is appreciated. The laces are not your typical lace, made with some stretch that again makes for an easy comfortable fit. Nice cushioning on the ankle as well. The Trinity has a 8mm drop with 32mm/24mm stack and form me that worked perfectly. First two runs were in soggy spring conditions with a mix of gravel and single track. The 4mm lugs grip well and gave me confidence on the downhills even on that ever tricky wet Ohio clay. Did n't notice the lugs other than their grip which is complimented by the outsole( Adapt Trax), which is a good thing! The ride was smooth and responsive( Techlite+Dual Density Midsole), you DO N'T get the feeling of riding too high that leads to a loss of stability and performance like I 've felt in other max cushioned shoes. The Trinity has married cushion and performance seamlessly. I was able to glide along on the flats as well as take the sharp turns with confidence then bomb the downhills. I had this slight forward propulsion feeling that is always welcome, that comes from the Tech( Adaptive Guidance Pebex Plate) that also does the job taking on heavier rocks and roots. Bottom line these shoes are exactly what I 've been lookin for in a trail shoe. Looking forward to the next 500 miles in these bad boys!

[ Employee of columbia] The midsole on these shoes is super comfortable. Feels like i 'm running on clouds, I also love the outsole grip. It did well on wet, mossy rocks. Fit works well for me even though I have wide feet. Ca n't speak to durability yet, but I think the overlways will keep the upper in good shape for many miles to come!

Best ever running shoe ... I gave these shoes to my husband for Father ’s Day and I think it was the best gift for him ... Can ’ t say enough on how comfortable these shoes

GoodTimes32
The fit of this shoe is true to size, which I really appreciate. As a larger guy, I typically wear through inserts quickly, and by the end of the day, my feet often ache. However, I ’ ve been wearing these shoes consistently for the past three weeks, and I can genuinely feel the difference. The combination of the high- quality inserts and cushioned sole provides a noticeable level of comfort that lasts all day. Highly recommend!

[ I recently tried the Catamount 4 Tail Shoe. I run mainly on gravel/dirt roads and paths so a trail shoe is a must! These felt a little tight in the uppers for the 1st couple of runs then I fell in love with them and they have been my go to ever since! I usually purchase a size 10 1/2 to an 11 in women ’s and I do prefer a tighter fit. A men ’s 8 1/2 have worked well for me. I have an average width foot and the toe box fit is great. I ’ m 30+ miles in and these have kept me sure footed and the cushion has kept me from any stone bruises! I look forward to many more miles in these! The colors have just been a fun bonus, as the darker teal hasn ’ t gotten dirty looking.

BrooksRunningShoes
[ I had not worn Brooks running shoes before so this was my introduction. I 've been a runner for over 40 years and ran many races- 5K, 10K, 10 Miler, 1/2, and Full Marathons. Now I 'm out there to only compete with myself. These shoes felt really good right away! Lots of cushioning( which I like) and support. I do n't choose running shoes based on how they look but these are nice- looking shoes. It took me a run or two to get used to the difference between my other shoes but now they feel so comfortable. My time has improved a bit also. I need a wide- toe box and these were perfect. I have only run in them in cold weather so I 'm not sure about how they function in the heat. I also only ran on paved roads. PROS: Good support, Plenty of room in the toe box, Plenty of cushioning, lighter than expected, Very comfortable CONS: The tongue is flimsy so you have to hold onto it to put the shoe on. That would not be a deal- breaker for me though.

[ After running several miles I can say these are amongst my favorite shoes for trail running. The soles are thick with good cushion with each step. The laces secure tight to my foot with zero sliding around. I have one other pair I currently run in and plan on using these in my rotation going forward. I ’ m also a huge fan of the aesthetic, in fact they ’ re probably my favorite running shoe in terms of appearance and colorway. If I was to purchase another pair, however, I would order a half size up as the toe box is slightly more narrow and my big toe rubs slightly. One major thing to know is there is not a lot of arch support which would make them less ideal if you have a flatter foot. The shoes work well for me and I ’ d happily purchase them again when it ’s time for a new pair.
5
Jarrett
[ I typically wear a size 10 or 10. 5 depending on the brand. The size 10 Catamount 4, fit snuggly and kept my heel locked in place, while still allowing for plenty of wiggle room in the toes. Took these out of the box and went on a quick 8 mile run the first day( paved road) and another 7 miles the following day( paved& some loose gravel). The shoes feel lighter on my feet than I expected, very responsive, and provide a ton of cushioning for the heel. The fabric is lightweight& breathable, which kept my feet from overheating towards the end of runs. It ’s been very dry and warm lately; so, I wasn ’ t able to test how they hold up in inclement weather. The traction is great on loose gravel and paved roads alike. I ’ m a big fan of the color scheme though I know bright colors aren ’ t for everyone. My only complaint is the tongue feels a bit thin and has a tendency to get bunched up when you are putting on the shoes. This isn ’ t a sticking point in the slightest because if you hold onto the tongue while sliding feet into shoes, it ’s no longer a problem. Overall I ’ m extremely satisfied with these shoes and quickly becoming my new go- to.

[ The Brooks Catamount 4 are some of the most comfortable running shoes I ’ ve worn. The fabric is sturdy yet breathable and while I do wish they were available in more color options the current design is quite sleek. I was shocked when I first put them on by how light they felt on my feet. I ’ ve run in them multiple times now and am pleased to share that my knees and back do not ache after a long run when I wear these shoes. They provide wonderful support and protection, making running more enjoyable and allowing me to train harder.

These are hands down my favorite running shoes of all time. The Brooks Ghost Trail strike the perfect balance between comfort, support, and responsiveness. They ’ re incredibly comfortable right out of the box, with just the right amount of cushioning for long runs, while still feeling light and agile on the trail. The traction is excellent on dirt, gravel, and uneven terrain, and they feel stable without being stiff. I also love how versatile they are, great for trail runs, mixed surfaces, and even everyday wear. My only wish is that Brooks would make this exact shoe in black, keeping the same color accents and overall design.

[ I absolutely love these shoes! From the moment I put them on I felt like my soles were on pillows and my feet were comfortably snug like a big hug. They feel very well made and durable, easing from pavement to grass seamlessly. Throughout my multiple mile run my feet never felt sore and as a bonus, the colors are stunning. I couldn ’ t be more happy with these and would recommend to anyone interested in running or even speed walking!

[ This is my first pair of Brooks and I have to say I am in love with them!! I will be completely honest with you, the first time I put them on I wasnt sure, how I would do running and walking in them. They took a bit to break in 1 or 2 days, but they seemed to form to my feet and give me the support I desperately needed. They easily grip to any surface without feeling heavy or restrictive. I have run on smooth paved surfaces as well as off the beaten path in these Ghost Trail shoes by Brooks. Each time I have taken them on a hike I 've felt comfortable, agile, and confident. Thank you so much for allowing me to review these shoes.

[ I ’ ve been running on these shoes for about a week and they have been great. I usually wear a size 8, and size up to 8. 5 for running shoes. For these, I may have been ok with an 8. They do not feel tight on my feet and I can see myself running and using them for more casual walking. They feel very breathable and have plenty of cushion. The traction is great for my running needs and I ’ ve had no difficulty transitioning from trail to gravel and back. I do mainly run on sidewalks and so far they are a great shoe for that. I ’ m not usually a Brooks Ghost shoe wearer but I may be ready to make the switch for good.

[ I love Brooks running shoes in general and the Ghost Trail running shoes are my new favorite trail running shoes. They provide a great amount of support and cushion to support long mileage. The support around your ankle and below your foot also make me feel more comfortable on various terrains. The traction is efficient on all sorts of surfaces from rock to gravel to dirt. The Ghost Trail can also be your one shoe for a hiking trip where you are doing both hiking and trail running, making them perfect for travel. Overall the shoes are incredibly comfortable and ones I would recommend to anyone looking for that perfect trail running shoe.

[ I 've been using these shoes as my off- road runners and hiking shoes since I received them, and they 're excellent. They 're lightweight, fit snugly, and have great traction. In the rocky AZ terrain, I had sure footing. I did n't find there to be a breaking in period, either, which is unusual. I had no blisters or hot spots on my usual spots: my heels and toes. They were breathable, too, so my feet did n't get too hot. I highly recommend.

[ This is my first time trying Brooks shoes, and I 've never worn a running shoe quite like this one. It is extremely light& cushiony and feels like I 'm walking on clouds, yet the wide base offers a great amount of stability and grip. The shoe also provides great foot and arch support. I used the Caldera 7s both on dirt trails and climbing rocks, and the soles seem to conform and adjust to different types of surfaces which helps relieve pressure on my joints. Although they are trail- running shoes, I would wear them for everyday walking or standing because they 're that supportive and comfy. They run true to size- I am a size 10 in Women's, and they fit perfectly. The mesh fabric is breathable, and I 'm impressed that Brooks uses recycled materials for their shoes. The bold design of the Caldera 7 is n't quite what I would typically wear, but the shoes look great on, and the colors are very eye- catching. My podiatrist recommended Brooks shoes a while back, and I can now see why. I 'm a new fan!
5
TheHappyFitMama
[ I have to rave about the Brooks Caldera 7's for a moment! Initially, when I received them I was skeptical about the height of the sole because even though I 'd consider myself an athlete, I am also a clutz. I 'm stoked to say that I have had zero issues with the height and I absolutely LOVE the extra cushion these shoes provide, while being very light weight! I 've never had a shoe that feels like it's providing great spring for your next step, but these definitely do.( I had a botched foot surgery, so I am VERY selective on shoes.) I know these are technically a trail runner, but they have become my everyday shoe as a Midwesterner in this frigid winter weather. The Caldera 7's have provided much comfort on slick, icy parking lots and sidewalks because the grip is out of this world. They have also been a fantastic shoe for booking it through the airport quickly! I 'm excited to see what Brooks next color ways will be for this shoe. The ones I have are a fun pop of color for this dreary winter!( For reference, I have a more narrow foot.)

[ This pair of Caldera 7 running shoes by Brooks is my new favorite. It provides very good traction and support to my feet and it makes long runs less difficult and more fun. There are a lot of details on it which I like very much especially the elastic to fix the shoelaces to make them less likely to loose. The shoes are very supportive with nitrogen filled but still keep the stability. It works perfectly on both path and off road.

Slow and persistent
I just ordered my 4th pair of these. I love them and have completed several trail events ranging from 1/1 marathon distance to 50k wearing them. I even wore them when I ran the Chicago marathon last October, Honolulu Marathon in December and the Rock and Roll half marathon in Vegas in February- they were great on pavement too. I go through shoes pretty quickly, but these hold up well especially if you ’ re not a wrecking crew with your shoes, which I admit is a good description of me. I highly recommend them.

[ These shoes are a 10 out of 10 for me. They fit true to size and are made of a comfortable and breathable fabric. They are a little tighter around the ankles than a typical shoe, but for running is offers stability and support that I appreciate. For trail running in particular, it is even better because I do n't fear rolling my ankle. The design is very cutesy without sacrificing stability, although I would have preferred darker colors as these will stain very quickly. The soles seem to be pretty thick which suprised me at first but I quickly found that was a benefit. When moving up hills, the shoe itself almost seemed to rock on the soles and help me up the hills easier. There is not much I would change about the Caldera 8. My only( small) issue is how big they seem, but they are for running not for fashion so they get the job done. I would recommend these to any trail runner, from beginner to experts.
5
GoodVibesOnly
[ Enjoying taking runs in my neighborhood with my kids. We run a few miles a week and the shoes have been very comfortable and lightweight. Once I tried on the shoes they fit like a glove. The design is trendy and I love the bright colors. The fabric is top quality very soft and durable. I love that I did not have to break in the shoes like most shoes. One thing I would change is maybe the sole design.
5
Marina
[ The Caldera 8s are a great athletic shoe overall for walking, hiking, and running errands. The shoes grip extremely well. You can hear the traction from the tread as you walk, which is great for hiking and cold weather in New England. They are also comfortable and feel well cushioned, with the wider heel feeling like it ’s helping propel me forward. The shoes fit true to size. I ’ m a true 9. 5 and the 9. 5 fit comfortably with enough room in the toes without being too big. They might feel a little snug out of the box for those who have wide feet because of the no tongue design. They are very breathable, which I confirmed with the cold air that I could feel through the top fabric. My feet sweat so the breathability is a must. I haven ’ t gotten them wet yet, but I expect that the fabric would dry quickly. I love the overall design of the shoe as well, with the neon colors making them pop. The neon is perfect for trail hiking, especially to stand out among the brown, dry leaves. They are also comfortable enough and flattering enough to wear for a walk into the office.

[ The Nike ACG Zegama were an exciting pair of sneakers to test. I am longtime fan of the ACG collection, mainly for it's forward and functional design. These trail sneakers embody both of those fully. I wore these on the trail routes near my home and they full adapted to the uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. I 've worn them on dry runs and just after rainfall, and the footprint/sole of this sneaker felt like it grasped the earth well in both circumstances. The elastic ankle detail hugged my foot just enough for added stabilization. I could really feel the vibram sole and full cushioning which I prefer when trail running. I appreciated the non slip grip the laces had on the upper, they felt secure the duration of each run. But my main takeaway was the width of the sole at the ball of the foot. It really felt different compared to other sneakers I run on trail with. This felt like when my foot stuck the ground, it was fully connecting, giving me more confidence and security with each step. The shoe was comfortable and responsive all around.
5
RunningShoe
[ This shoe made it feel like I was walking on air. I recommend this shoe for anyone that spend a lot of time outside. I love the thickness of the sole on the shoe. I spend alot of time outside because plays sport and I find myself complaining about the lack of a good tennis shoe. I spent a couple of hours in this shoe and had no complaints. I love the simple black and white color tone of this shoe. I can wear this shoe with different colors.
5
WomensNikeACGZEGMA
[ The fit was true to size and surprisingly comfortable for my wide feet. I usually struggle finding trail shoes that feel supportive without being too tight, but these fit really well right out of the box. I also loved the overall design because it feels versatile enough for different outdoor activities. The bottom soles have a lot of grip, which made them great for trail hiking, uphill runs, and even climbing over rocky terrain. The cloth- like toe cover almost made it feel like I was running barefoot, but with enough protection and support. The fabric around the feet is soft, lightweight, and breathable. Compared to most hiking shoes, the traction on the bottom feels much lighter, which made it easier to pick up speed and do short runs comfortably. One of my favorite features was the ankle portion because it fits almost like a sock and feels secure without rubbing. What I liked most was how easy it felt to move in them. I was able to comfortably pick up my feet and transition into short uphill runs without feeling weighed down like traditional hiking shoes. Honestly, I wouldn ’ t change anything about the shoe. Even though it ’s not labeled as a wide shoe, it still worked well for my feet and provided solid arch support. My only recommendation would be to wear high socks and avoid wearing them barefoot. I made the mistake of doing a 2- mile uphill run without socks and ended up with blisters, so good socks definitely make a difference.

[ The ACG Zegama shoes do exactly what they say. Comfortable and stable for trail running. The wide toe box is excellent for maintaining stability on rough terrain. The mesh upper breathes really well. I haven ’ t tried it out in wet conditions/creeks but it feels like it would dry quickly. The ZoomX foam is my absolute favorite across Nike shoe lines. The ankle cuff prevents pebbles and dirt from causing irritation which is a great detail. The fit is true to size and their stylish/rugged appearance is a plus.

I 'm an avid runner getting about 20- 25 miles per week over three runs. I spend as much time as I can on the trail. I started with the Timp for a few seasons, then progressed to the Mount Blanc and always avoided the Olympus because it just looked like it would be too unstable and heavy. I was really surprised with the firmness and stability of the cushioning, and compared to the Mount Blanc there is little to no heel movement. My feet also feel much more protected with this upper versus the Mount Blanc. That said they are a bit heavier, but nothing too noticeable. On the downhill I feel like I can press on the gas with more control. I 'd recommend giving them a try!

[ Altra sent me these shoes to try for free, and I 've since put 35- 40 miles on with them. In that time, I 've taken them through all sort of off road terrains: gravel, grassed trails, mulched trails, sandy beaches, and sand dunes. These shoes have conquered them all with ease. I have wide feet and these shoes feature a wider toe box that is hands down the most comfortable running experience I 've had- especially without a lengthy break- in period. Usually, it takes me about 20- 30 miles to break in a shoe to the point where I can run in them for more than a mile without pressure points. I never had that issues with these shoes! I thought the extended sole would change my stride, or create a different impact point on my foot, but I really have n't noticed. But, I would definitely say it adds additional stability to the shoe while on uneven terrain. I would n't say that they 're a shoes I would wear going up a extremely technical course, but they can handle a heck of a lot more than a flat land run. I ca n't comment to much on the durability of the shoe, but I see no red flags yet. I 'm looking forward to putting more miles on these beauties! Could n't recommend them enough; especially for folks with wide feet.

[ I have used these shoes for trail running and hiking as well. My feet were comfortable for everything but the down hill parts and that was because I got a half size too small. Just make sure to get a size with a little extra room so that your toes do n't get cramped when you are going down hill. Overall, I would definitely recommend these shoes! ALTRA gave me this free product to try.

[ Cushioned in all the right places. Trying out the new Altra Olympus 6 trail shoes. They offer great support and traction on the trails. No hot spots, the right amount of cushion and support. I liked the heal cushion support to keep the heel locked in on the up hills. I also love the toe guard that blocks the direct hits from rocks on the toes. I have a bunion on my right foot, so this toe shape box is perfect for those with wide feet. I 'd highly recommend these for anyone looking for more support on those long trail runs. Even though there is more cushion, I did n't feel that they were heavy or slowing me down. The longest run I 've done on them is 7 miles, and average about 9: 14/mile, on dry dirt single track trails in Forest Park, Oregon. Traction was good on loose gravel and rocks. The extra cushion absorbrs those sharp rocks. ALTRA gave me this free product to try.

[ The new Olympus 6 is comfort right out of the box with little to no break in time. The Vibram sole provides great traction on dirt trails, rocks and wet rocks at river crossings. The cushioned midsole provides the right blend of comfort, cushion and the ability to feel the trail under your feet. Combine those with a secure heal cup and a comfortable lining inside and I was able to backpack 16 miles days in comfort with no break in time. The only problem I had was on the left shoe. The side of the shoe did hit the bottom of my ankle bone. It's a problem that I have with many shoes that most people do n't seem to have so do n't let it stop you from trying the new Olympus 6. Altra did give me this shoe to try but that does not affect my review.

I don ’ t run trails a lot but I like having light and comfortable shoes for hikes. These are an excellent choice, the foam offers plenty of protection in rocky terrain but its not so high that you feel unstable. Very first hike with these, I came across snow and mud and am pretty happy with how it held up, great traction and no wet feet. Will probably get a customized version when that ’s available or stock up on alternate colorways.

[ The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail is a super comfortable shoe ready for any trail. The shoe is very grippy and does well in many different types of terrain, even the rockier ones. The upper material forms to the foot great and is very breathable. The midsole material feels very comfortable and the shoe overall feels very stable. The wider toebox allows for a more comfortable fit and is great for more technical trails! Overall, this is an incredibly comfortable and capable trail shoe for short or long trails!

I ’ ve had 6 of the 7 generations of TGs, as well as a few of the Vapor Gloves. If you ’ ve never had a minimalist shoe, they are fantastic, but definitely go with Trail before Vapor. This is also good advice to anyone running on harsh trails or loose rocks. These TGs have a lot of absorption, considering the sole thickness. Also, they tell you that the shoes run large, but I would only size up if you have wide feet! If you have normal to narrow feet, I ’ d recommend sticking to size and knowing that they should feel a bit “ sock- like ” without generating any significant toe friction. I just started using them so I can not comment on the quality. I can say that I ’ ve used many categories of Merrell shoes and boots, and with the exception of one single pair of TGs( gen3, I believe), the build quality has been solid.

[ This shoes are the most comfortable I have ever worn. I used to suffer from feet pain and it has been reduced to a 90%. They are perfect for hiking and running and I love using them for work since I walk a lot. They are true to size. The thing I love the most is its comfort and how well designed they are. The thing I would change is that they are not too breathable so my feet get a little warm throughout the day. But I will definitely continue to buy specially for winter time.

[ For reference, I am a casual runner, mom of two, trying to prepare for my first mud running race in 9 years. These appear to be great trail shoes. I haven ’ t had much opportunity to test them in wet conditions yet because it ’s been dry and hot here, but so far they have held up great. For a waterproof shoe, they seem very soft and pliable which is a huge win for me. It ’s amazing because they feel like a traditional tennis shoe material. The shoes are slightly narrow for me, but I have extremely wide feet for a woman( 10 cm) and they just squeeze my toes a bit. They are wide enough in the midfoot just not quite in wide enough for my toe splay. Otherwise fit seems very true to size. I also removed the insoles because I have high volume feet and there was plenty of room with the insoles removed. They are very lightweight as well which is important to me. As I ’ m just slowly getting back into running I haven ’ t put too many miles on them, but it makes it easier when you have a comfortable shoe to wear and your feet don ’ t hurt! I love the look of these shoes; black is my preference anyway but especially for trail running as all my other trail shoes always end up dingy brown. The only thing I would change is I like a little more flexibility and ground feel in my shoes, but I know this is a personal preference. Overall, love these and would recommend.

Nelz
[ I am very pleased with these shoes and intend to make them my primary choice. They are comfortable for extended walking on hilly terrain and are suitable for running. As someone with semi- wide feet, the fit is just right. I appreciate the black and blue design on the sole. The fit around the heel is slightly snug, but I anticipate that it will loosen with continued wear. Overall, I believe this is an excellent shoe and would recommend it to others.

[ I love all my Brooks, and wore them before they became so popular. I purchased the new Cascadia 19 to wear hiking Hanging Rock and nearby trails. These were outstanding! The trails had lots of huge unlevel rocks, mounds of newly fallen leaves, and light rain which would have otherwise been very slippery. I liked not worrying about my feet getting wet, too!

[ I 've been wearing the Cascadia models for the last 10 years. Some years I 've been happier with the Cascadia model then others. This year is by far the best model for me. It feels just a little more cushioned, very trail comfortable, and more stable as well. The shoe it is quite light weight. I wear a medium wide size so I do n't have a lot of choices, and would buy the water proof version if they offered it in the wider sizes.

I love Brooks and that I can just order the size I wear and they always fit perfectly! Replaced my older Brooks glycerin with these and even on high walking days, my heel pain has nearly disappeared! [ I have been using the Altra Olympus 6 for hiking, running, and fastpacking. This is my first time trying a full- cushion trail shoe, but I have been road running in the Altra Torin for about 6 years. After about 25 miles of mixed terrain, weather and landscapes, I feel this shoe excels in climbing and tackling dry, loose terrain. I felt stable and powerful sprinting up sandy hillsides and dusty singletrack. The shoe absorbs the impact of large gravel, and bites into turns well. I slid around a bit on large wet roots and slick rocks under the stiff midfoot but recovered quickly and happily traded that for the protection from sharp obstacles. The high stack kept my feet dry when encountering mud and puddles, while the well ventilated upper kept me comfortable on long, hot days. The contoured form around the Achilles took a little getting used to, but it worked to lock my heel on ascents; no hot spots. Laces stay tied. Altra gave me this free product to try, and I 'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.

[ ALTRA gave me these to sample. They are super comfortable. In the past I have only worn lone peaks in the past and I am so happy I tried these. They add a whole new layer of comfort and durability. I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone in the market.

[ Hi! This is a review from a trail runner who prefers ground feel and minimal stack height! I 've also completed several trail ultras and marathons( trail and road) in minimal footwear. I wanted to see how this particular max cushion, high stack zero drop shoe would perform and provide comfort given an injured left heal. I have also worked in run specialty shops. I was so happy to be selected to test the Altra Olympus 6 with my particular preferences. I gave this model 5- Stars because I would and will absolutely continue to rotate this model on training runs. Especially on buffed trails, for hill repeats, hikes and any time I 'm feeling like I want a bit more cushion than I prefer. I would recommend this model over other high stack, max cushion models/brands bc of its responsiveness. Sizing and On Foot Feel: I requested a size 8. I am still torn if I would have felt even more secure and comfortable in a 7. 5. Regardless of that, I love how they feel around the midfoot, feel secure. I just would like to get them a little more snug around the midfoot, hence why I think a 7. 5 would have been perfect. Of course, I love the ample toe box space, so my toes can fully splay, but at the same time not getting smashed into the front of the shoe when going downhill. I should also mention the heel feels pretty secure as well, not too tight, but not loose, either. Under Foot Feel and Performance: This shoe is responsive and not over the top bulky. The cushioning is comfortable without being too `` squishy ''. I think that, not too squishy feel, helps reduce the perception of being on such a thick stack. Which I was concerned about b/c I though I 'd feel `` wobbly '' or have a sensation of slipping off the foot- bed. I did n't get that sensation, and that was a big positive! Activities I Tested the Olympus with: Walks with the dog, hikes, runs, hill repeats, and even a morning of race timing. Surface tested on; Trails that transition quickly between buffed and bEAST Coasty( rocks, roots, boulders). Hill repeats on a look out access road; transitions between asphalt and crushed stone surfaces. What I Enjoyed Most: I LOVED the performance of the shoes during hill repeats; security around mid- foot and the cushion for the downhill abuse on the soles of the feet. I will keep using them on those days. As well as for longer trail run days at a local nature preserve surrounded by miles and miles trails of every kind of surface.( ALTRA gave me this free product to try.)

[ Not only is this a high performing shoe, but it also looks fantastic! The colors are perfect. The material is the high quality expected from Brooks. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly lightweight this shoe was, especially for a trail shoe. The fit was almost perfect. It was a little tight around the mid foot at first but it felt much better as I progressed through the first run. The lug depth handles wet and muddy trails with ease. My favorite part of this shoe was the cushioning. I have always worn softer shoes and the Catamount 3 is the best I ’ ve ever worn. They have a smooth ride with a considerable amount of energy return which leaves my legs feeling great after every run. These shoes will definitely be a staple for me moving forward!

[ The Catamount 3 are hands down the best pair of running shoes I 've ever owned. From the instant I took them out of the box, I could tell how well designed they were. These shoes are incredibly light- I genuinely felt a boost in my running speed compared to other pairs. The sizing is spot- on in both length and width and the sleek design adds a stylish touch. These shoes also have deep treads which makes them perfect for training in all types of conditions. I 've used them for both short 3- mile runs on city streets as well as for general cross- training in the gym. They were perfect for both scenarios and have become my go to training shoes. The only drawback is that they are not water resistant. I had stepped in a shallow puddle and despite my foot not being fully submerged, water still seeped in. That said, they also performed well on the slippery roads due to their deep treads. So just watch your step!

[ The Catamount 3 is my new go to shoes. I started training for trail running last fall. The weather changed a lot and its very cold, icy and there is snow everywhere. Not a great time to train outdoors but these shoes are also perfect for indoor cross- training. I love these shoes for various reasons:- they are light and with just enough cushioning to feel comfortable and stable- responsive- have a good grip on terrain, both uphill and downhill which is great to get some speed- are very comfortable. I did not get any soreness after the first use- esthetics are nice. They are edgy, modern and unique.- fabric and materials used are of very high quality, as expected Downside: I started picking these shoes everytime. I highly recommend. They seem like they will last for a long time. P. S. I get asked often what brand and model they are while training.

I am an avid trail hiker and runner. I have completed the AT and the PCT and the South Island of the Te Araroa. The fit, comfort and durability of the Wildhorse shoe are extremely good and the weight is as light as I would want it to be for 30 mile days. A couple suggested improvements would be: 1: a lace band in the lace channel so laces can be tucked, 2) a gaiter clip at the front of tongue to attach a gaiter clip, and 3) a small channel in the middle of the sole for a gaiter bottom strap.

I struggled for a long time trying to find a shoe with a high heel to toe drop, good tread, and enough cushion to prevent knee pain no matter what type of surface I was running on. The heel to toe drop on this shoe is perfect, the cushion is excellent, and the tread is amazing. I wear these running on trails, roads, and to work. I even wear them on light hikes. They are the all around prefect shoe. Nike please don ’ t change anything but the color options in the future.

10 miles in but absolutely love these shoes. Minimal enough to feel the trail, enough cushion for comfort and the grip of the cleared sole works perfectly in slicker terrain. Love the overall looks and the yellow color definitely gets noticed. I sized up a 1/2 size as I always do in trail runners and have zero complaints about the fit. Looking forward to grabbing another pair to add to the rotation soon.

Really liking this version of the Terra Kiger. It ’s a simple shoe that just works and feels really nimble and fast. I actually really enjoy the feel of the midsole- although it ’s a fairly unexciting blend of EVA I think it has a nice ride and reliable feel. Been a go to in my rotation!

I used my new pair for a trip to Italy as I planned to do a lot of walking. They were amazing! I walked a ton in both cities and my feet never hurt once. I am sold 100% on this pair. Getting another color once I ’ m back home!

[ Overall great fit. Talk about comfort and quality. Very light weight. Secure fit around your ankle. Fabric expands has a soft touch. Love the small touches on the tongue saying all day, all night.

[ As my first experience with a trail shoe, I was pleasantly surprised by how supportive but light these are. In a pinch I think these could work on the road too. As an added benefit that look great and they 're not overly bulky like some trail shoes. I could imagine using these even as a daily wearer.

[ For some context, I am a male in my mid 20s and I run about 60 miles a week. I am currently training for a 25km race and I primarily used the Zegama 2s for my easy and steady runs. I was quite impressed with the Zegama 2. One notable enhancement is the incorporation of Vibram technology into the outsole, providing excellent grip and stability, particularly on trails. This feature proved invaluable during my off- road sessions. When running, this allowed the ride of the shoe to be grippy and secure. In particular, when on the trails, this was quite handy! However, the Zoom X foam is the highlight of this shoe. Not only is the foam soft and squishy, but it is also offers a high energy return. I found the foam to be most useful on my easy runs. After running a hard session, this shoe works well for easy days on the trails. The high cushioning keeps the muscles fresh. As someone who has ran in many of Nike ’s shoes, I will say that this iteration of Zoom X is not as squishy as the initial generation. It is a firmer version. For comparison, it is similar to the feel of the invincible 3. In terms of fit, the shoe fit true to size. I normally wear a 9. 5 and it fit me perfectly. I appreciate how the upper extends higher than a normal shoe- this helps to prevent dirt and rocks from entering the shoe. However, given its trail- focused design, I wished for a waterproof upper to tackle muddy terrains while keeping my socks dry. Often times, the trails are quite muddy, and by having a waterproof upper, this would serve the shoe well. Nonetheless, the fabric of the upper is comfortable and I did not have any issues with blisters or rubbing. As can be seen by my pictures, I have the shoe in the black and white colorway. The design works well as it hides dirt. Although I already have almost 30 miles on the shoes, they still look brand new! As someone who works nights, I enjoy the little details of the shoe: it says “ all day ” and “ all night ” on each respective tongue. This made me chuckle when I first saw it. In terms of bottom line, I really enjoyed this shoe. The updated outsole works well and the Zoom X cushion is phenomenal. The ride is great and responsive. I imagine I will be reaching for this shoe for all my trail runs, and even for some easy and steady days on the sidewalk. As for potential improvements, waterproofing the upper would undoubtedly elevate this shoe's performance, especially in muddy conditions. If it was waterproof, this shoe would truly be at the top of the trail shoe category. Further, while I love the Zoom X, I do wish it was a softer version of the cushioning. I am not sure what chemical changes have occurred since its debut years ago, but it continues to get firmer with each update. However, some many appreciate this change.

[ As an avid trail runner constantly seeking the perfect blend of performance, comfort, and durability, I was thrilled to get my hands( or should I say, feet) on the Nike ZoomX Zegama Trail 2. And let me tell you, this shoe did not disappoint; in fact, it exceeded all my expectations. Firstly, let's talk about comfort. The ZoomX midsole cushioning is a game- changer. It's incredibly responsive, providing a plush feel underfoot while still maintaining a lightweight design. Whether I 'm navigating rocky terrain or cruising through muddy paths, the ZoomX foam absorbs impact exceptionally well, sparing my joints from unnecessary stress and fatigue. But comfort alone is n't enough for serious trail runners. We need traction that can handle a variety of surfaces and conditions. The Zegama Trail 2 delivers on this front with its aggressive outsole featuring multidirectional lugs. I felt confident tackling steep ascents and descents, knowing that the shoe's grip would keep me stable and sure- footed every step of the way. Durability is another key factor, especially when you 're putting in serious mileage on rugged trails. Nike has spared no expense in crafting a shoe that can withstand the toughest of terrains. The reinforced upper provides ample protection against abrasions and debris, while strategic overlays enhance the shoe's overall structural integrity. After numerous runs, my Zegama Trail 2 still looks and feels as good as new, a testament to its robust construction. Beyond its technical prowess, the Zegama Trail 2 also scores high marks in terms of aesthetics. The sleek design, coupled with bold colorways, ensures that you 'll stand out on the trails for all the right reasons. Plus, the attention to detail, from the reflective elements for added visibility to the padded collar for enhanced ankle support, further showcases Nike's commitment to both style and functionality. In conclusion, the Nike ZoomX Zegama Trail 2 is a top- tier trail running shoe that ticks all the boxes for discerning runners. Whether you 're a seasoned veteran seeking your next PR or a weekend warrior looking to elevate your outdoor adventures, this shoe is a must- have addition to your gear arsenal. With its unbeatable combination of comfort, traction, and durability, the Zegama Trail 2 empowers you to push your limits and conquer any trail with confidence.
