I want to start by saying that I have been a loyal follower and buyer of Salomon boots for as long as I can remember. For at least the past ten years, I have worn them every single day. I replace my boots annually—not because they wear out or break down, but simply because I love the feel of new boots. In fact, I still have all of my previous pairs, except my very first ones( which I should have kept as well). Each pair continues to serve me in different ways. When I first purchase a new pair, they become my work boots, while the older ones transition into hiking boots, allowing them time to break in naturally. After about six months, I begin using the newer boots for hiking, always carrying an extra pair in my pack in case I need to swap them out—usually due to an issue like water getting inside. Let me emphasize that under normal conditions, these boots do not get wet inside. However, if fully submerged underwater—which I have done on several occasions—they will absorb moisture. When this happens, I hang the wet boot on the outside of my pack to dry while I continue my journey. I can confidently say that Salomon makes outstanding boots. They have been an essential part of my adventures, and I highly recommend them. Great boots, great company, and great experiences with Salomon!

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Able to wear them traveling all day and be comfortable but they do make my feet sweat a lot. The green color is nice but impossible to keep clean. Had the normal one full day break- in period. This is my third pair and I keep coming back for them. They are rugged and durable and last a little over a year when used roughly for hiking, trail running and slogging through the mud. I compete with these a lot because they keep the water out( unless I go in the streams) and they hold up really well. The soles start to get thinner after 1. 5 years but I have n't found any others that hold up any better and still stay together like these Moab 3's.

I bought these earlier this month for my grandson who will be hiking all summer. I was part of a Montana hiking group and Merrill was always their first choice, so I was delighted to get them for him. My only objection is that we had very poor customer service. I had to track down someone( twice) just to help us. The young man was not knowledgeable at all about shoes. For$ 150 a pair, I expected a little more help in choosing and sizing. [ I 'm an Altra enthusiast. My last pair fell apart after so little wear so I decided to give these Hokas a go. They are n't as blocky as the other Hoka models and have loads of grip. There's a little more of a heel lift to these vs. the Altra Olympus, but not much. They run pretty wide. I put orthotics in mine and they 're really supportive; I can hike for hours and my feet do n't even get tired!

I bought these for a recent trip to Banff, Canada and they were amazing. They arrived only a few days before the trip so I was worried I would have issues with breaking them in but no problems! We did an 11 mile hike the second day of wearing them and I only got one tiny blister( which let ’s be honest, probably would have happened anyway). These are super comfortable and very lightweight for a mid hiking shoe. The outer is only slightly tougher than a normal running shoe, but waterproof. Of course the outsole is much grippier. I bought this boot about a month ago to replace a previous model I had from Salomon. It was the closest to the Vaya. Feel is great overall, however the size is about 1/2 size too small. Ordered same size my old pair. That is the only complaint. I was a 6. 5 in the Vaya and believe a 7 in these would have been better. They are super light weight, rugged, super water resistant too
