I ’ ve only had these shoes for a short time, but so far I ’ m very impressed. I previously wore the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and loved them, so I was a little hesitant to try something new. The fit and overall feel are similar enough that the transition has been easy, with no significant break- in period for me. I have high arches, a higher instep, and toes that like room to spread when I walk. I also tend to notice pressure points and fit issues quickly. These shoes provide a nice balance of stability and flexibility without feeling overly rigid or overly cushioned. They feel secure through the midfoot while still allowing natural foot movement, which is important for my walking/running style. For sizing reference, I wore a size 8 in my Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and chose an 8. 5 in these. I ’ ve experienced no rubbing, hot spots, or heel issues so far, and they ’ ve been comfortable from the first wear. The traction and overall ride feel well suited for walking on a mix of pavement, road shoulders, and uneven terrain. My only wish is that there were more color options available when I ordered. I recently noticed the customization option and would have loved that feature from the start. In fact, I ’ m already considering picking up a second pair as a backup because I like them that much and hope Nike keeps this model around for a long time.

[ Let me start by saying how comfortable these shoes are! Super easy to put on and they stay on while running! I love that they ’ re not super narrow at the toe area like some running shoes, my toes can breathe and allows me to feel more comfortable running. They have great cushion at the bottom that allow a boost/little jump when you ’ re running for support. The bottom has tracks that allow you to run on different surfaces and not slip. The grip really well. I do wish they had more color ways, as the ones they have aren ’ t my favorite but the shoe itself is definitely worth if you ’ re a cross country runner or like to run ion different surfaces. True to size!

Long time fan of the New Balance Hierro line. This is the 2nd pair of the V9's that I own. One pair is my `` going- out '' pair and these are my work/daily shoes. I have purchased V6's all the way up to the V9's. Buy far, these have the best cushioning out of all the other models with a super grippy tread. Many decades of trail running and 2 prosthetic disks in my cervical spine... still doing 1, 500+ miles each year... very particular( likely obsessive) about midsole... also a stickler for stability, traction, and lock- down. This Heirro v9 is the best shoe I 've run in. Personally feel that there is not one midsole( rebound, impact, drop) that will be ideal for every runner due to variances in weight, foot strike, stride/ mechanics, terrain... but for me( 6', 160lbs, frequent 10%+ grade) this shoe is the best riding shoe I 've put miles on so far... outer sole seems more durable( better attached) than 2nd favorite NB More Trail V3 which is another great riding shoe... and less ground feel and rebound but more stable and long mile friendly ride than N# Zag.

I struggled for a long time trying to find a shoe with a high heel to toe drop, good tread, and enough cushion to prevent knee pain no matter what type of surface I was running on. I am not a runner of any sort, but these have turned out to be my favorite pair of Merrells that i have ever owned, and i have lots of other styles. The fit is great, arch support is awesome even without my inserts, and it feels like it springs me forward with every step. Is this what happens with running shoes? I 've always steered away from these type of shoes since i do n't run, but i may rethink that. Just ordered a second pair, this time with the gore tex for wet winter walking!

I have found the perfect shoe for me. I need a fairly good amount of arch support, which these have. They are lightweight yet sturdy. I have worn Brooks for years, but lately find the footbed wears out really fast. The footbed in these feels more substantial, yet still has a good amount of cushion. I am also prone to toe pain and have no issues with these shoes. Wore them walking 11 miles in San Francisco and my feet and legs felt great at the end of the day.
