This is the perfect jacket for any type of cold weather! I live in a mild winter climate but tend to visit places where it gets a little chilly and wanted a jacket that would work for all the things. I sized up to make sure I have extra room for layering. On its own, it is perfectly lightweight and but still keeps me warm. On colder days, I am able to layer a sweatshirt underneath and stay cozy. I have a little extra length in the arms, which I love because it is a rarity. I feel like I have just enough room that I could wear a crewneck underneath without problem, but it's not bulky without layers. And it's long enough that it covers my bottom! The fabric of the jacket was breathable and the venting features helped keep me cool and dry. The design of this jacket is my favorite feature. It truly was made to provide protection to the person wearing it in a variety of different situations and climates. I love that I can wear it in my snowy hometown, but still take it with me on a vacation to a sunny destination. The only thing that I would consider changing on this jacket would be the adjustable features. The adjustable closures would occasionally hit me in the face while I was running. I was between either a medium or large( I 'm 5ft4in and 155 lbs for reference) and went with the large but I think a medium would work for me if I wanted less of an oversized look.
