Some reviews mentioned sizing down, and since my other Prana Halle shorts in size 8 fit me a little snug now, I stuck with ordering a size 8 and am very happy I did. They are a comfortable fit and relax a tad as you wear them. You do n't feel restricted in them at all. They are perfect for hiking or to wear around all day.

I bought these before leaving to travel for 8 months. These shorts( and a pair of Prana pants) are my favorite bottoms to wear and I have worn them in 12 countries( and counting), so they have had a LOT of wear. They are great for hiking, sight- seeing, and everyday use. I was worried about ordering them online without having the chance to try them on. However, their fit is great. I was also disappointed that when I ordered them the only color in my size was Earthtone. However, I am actually happy with the color and think it looks better in person. I have hand washed them, line dried, machine washed, and machine dried. They dry quickly, have a bit of stretch( which is great for being active), and did n't show the massive amounts of sweat in hot, humid climates. Honestly, these shorts have paid for themselves. I have also received many compliments about this pair of shorts.

Have taken several long walks and the shorts have not ridden up in the inner thigh area like most shorts- a big win. Wish pockets were deeper, zip pocket was bigger( can hold only chapstick) and there were back pockets. But material is soft and stretchy( more like a running short material rather than a hiking shirt material. The pockets are the only reason I took off a star, but they do hold my iPhone.
