I bought this roof bag the night we were going out of town. We drove 18 hours and experienced heavy rain. The bag stayed in place with the straps provided even though the straps feel a little stiff, they were still strong and flexible. Everything was dry upon arrival. On our drive back everything inside was damp from heavy rain but I think the flap that covers the zipper was flipped up. It should be ok as long as you don ’ t overstuff the bag and you ’ re careful about covering the zipper all the way around, you ’ ll be fine. If you have an option to get 20+cu, get the larger one. Everyone said these were huge and while our stuff fit, I could ’ ve used a roomier bag to eliminate extra inside cargo. This is for a one week trip for two adults and four children.

I ’ ve used this duffle bag more than any other bag for the past couple years. Whether just throwing random stuff in it to keep things in one spot or using it as a carry on. It holds a ton and has several internal pockets on the side and two zippered pockets on the underside to the top flap. I love the bright orange color…always know where my bag is. It ’s not water proof, but I ’ ve had some light rain on it and didn ’ t have anything get wet. The bottom material is very durable and easy to wipe off. If you were to check it, the shoulder straps/handles are easy to remove, but stay secured when they are on. The cinch straps keep it compact when it ’s not fully loaded. Last weekend I used it to camp and had 3 days of cloths, sleeping mat, sleeping bag and everything I wanted inside the tent in the bag. I ’ ve also used it on the back of my motorcycle and it was easy to strap down using the molle type loops on the sides.

I am very happy with my purchase of the Malone J- dock Kayak& Gear storage rack. Installation was easy. I did use a bigger drill bit than instructed to drill the pilot holes for the screws, and used socket rather than a wrench to make it easier on myself. The whole installation was about 20 minutes. Once installed, placing my kayaks in the cradles took about 10 minutes. The straps to hang the second kayak did not ratchet as easily as I would have liked, and I suggest using your own straps, having help to take weight off the straps while you ratchet them up, or using something under the kayak to hold it up while you tighten the straps. Either way, once they kayak is up and the straps tightened the kayaks are secure and the system is great! I also liked having the ability to store my paddles on the rack.

I have one of these. It is massive. It is solid as well. I think I 've accidentally bumped the top of against a ceiling at least 4 or 5 times and not a scratch on it, no dents or cracks either. I have been able to fit an absolute ton of stuff in it. Aerodynamic? Sort of. It will reduce your MPGs by at least 4- 5mpg on the highway. But you are getting a super huge place to store items. The trickiest part for me was positioning the box just right—I prefer to have it centered on the roof, as we often access gear from both sides depending on the situation. The skirt itself is not stretchy but the material is very light and I imagine will be nice for the hot summer months. I am 150, 5ft3im and bought the small. [ I like the lightness of these. I like the compressibility. The scouts tend to have internal frame packs and need to squeeze things tight, this does the job. I still use an external frame pack, the packs straps go under the compressing stings to keep the bag from sliding sideways off of my pack without having to overtighten the pack straps. These bags have become my favorite.
