After much trial and error, I have found that the Moji Lantern is the best overall for use in the Boundary Waters- they are rouged and have found that they stand up to a high water/wet environment. The variable brightnesses on the Moji means that I can have the lantern on all nights if needed. They are lite weight, very durable and dependable. I bought my first ones many years ago, and just bought two more, the old ones are in service to date still. The attached hanging system can attach to almost anything. They can face down or up, they are worth the investment and will give many years of service.

I ’ m very surprised at some of these bad reviews! I own both the 1500 and 2000 Nebo Davinci flashlights and they are incredible. Best flashlights I have ever owned. I personally prefer the 1500 because of its size. It ’s super small and lightweight and for its size it puts out an insane amount of light with great control and throw. The 2000 is a bit bigger, and even though it does produce more light, the 1500 seems to have the best size to light ratio- so that ’s my recommendation, for what it ’s worth. They are easy to charge( with usb c; hurray!!) and without having to take the battery all the way out. I ’ ve never had any issues with them after getting wet or dropping them, which I ’ ve unfortunately done quite a bit. After many many comparisons, these are the absolute best so far. Hope this helps!

[ This thing SAVED on my last move. Packing my U- Haul took longer than expected, so it went into dark. The fact this thing is magnetic and has spot OR flood is huge. I was able to stick it to the U- Haul and had plenty of light to pack the entire truck for multiple hours on one charge. The spotlight isn ’ t kidding when it talks about its distance, I can light up the house at the end of the block and then some. It ’s nice it also has a low red light so you don ’ t have to obliterate your night vision if you need just a little light. The switch on the back allows you to change modes without even turning it on, and the pocket catch allows you to hang it off your pants while you work if you don ’ t need it. I ’ ve carried a flashlight with me every single day since 2011, and although it ’s far to big to be EDC, when you ’ re doing work, or camping or need a proper light, I ’ ll be buying a couple more of these to keep in my go bag, and my car as well! I was really confused when I received this light. There was a plastic battery isolation part that didn ’ t want to pull out. There was a recessed slider switch between a lock and in- lock symbols that didn ’ t want to move. There were graphic instructions that communicated poorly. Only after accidentally twisting the body did I discover that was the key! The key to remove the battery insulation and to what the lock and unlock symbols really mean. The slider switch isn ’ t a switch at all. It is an indicator! If you consider the lens end the bottom and the opposite end with the lanyard the top if you twist the top one quarter turn the top comes loose enough to remove the insulator piece. At that quarter turn point gently pulling the top off accesses the batteries for replacement. Turning the top a half turn unlocks the flashlight and turns on the light. When unlocked the switch on the side then works. Once all this is understood the graphic instructions become clear. The light is really great. The light brightness is ample for its size. The switch turns it on and off and when held down dims the light. Turning the top a half turn clockwise locks the light from accidentally turning on and it resets the light brightness. The lanyard and clip make it easy to keep it handy and secure. I recommend this light!
