I actually do n't own these shoes, but I tried them on in an 8 at the store( I wear 8. 5 but they only had whole sizes) and wanted to say that they are pretty narrow and snug. If I had bought them instead of choosing the Explorer III, I 'd have bought a size 9- 9. 5 just for normal socks. For reference, my foot length is 25 cm and width 10 cm, and the size I tried on was EU 39( just because the retailer sent me a wrong size; I initially ordered EU 40). The size fit me but was really snug. I then tried these same shoes in a store and found out my perfect size was EU 40, 5 if I wantes to fit a thicker sock. I really wanted a slip on boot for running to the gym, etc. I wanted them to be waterproof so they would last longer than a season and I was so thrilled when I saw these. They are a little stiffer to get on, but they come off very easy. I am so excited about them. I usually wear an 8. 5 in the regular boots, and a 9 in any of the snowboot type shoes Sorel makes. The 9 fit great.

Muck really knocked it out of the park with this boot. The fit is great, but the function is top shelf! If you ’ re riding in the winter and need a bit of warmth these are the only way to go. I can put my spurs on them. They slide in and out of a stirrup well. I really hope this becomes one of Muck ’s mainstay boots. It ’s really well built and well designed.

I have no intention of using these boots for riding or cleaning stalls. I will use them for Winter Walk and forays in the forests and beaches shooting( photography) wildlife. I took them out for our first snowfall walk. They are comfortable and warn. It was 20 degrees and I wore only a dress weight alpaca sock. My feet were never cold. There was plenty room for me to wear a heavier weight sock. I did encounter some wet spots along the marsh and my feet were totally dry. I will note that these boots do not have lug soles, so they were slick walking up snow covered steep slopes. This is not a knock on these boots for me. I have Yaktrax Diamond grips and Kahtoola Micro Spikes- both fit over these beefier boot. I love the ease of slipping into with the optional pull tabs( which I didn ’ t need to use.). The last pair of “ rubber boots ” I owned were snug to pull on. The liner is great. I ’ m sure these will be what the doctor ordered for my Winter Adventures. I wear 10. 5 Wide typically. The 11 and Medium width were perfect.

My original pair of Bearpaws for wide calves( different make) is starting to wear out after 5 winters. I found a wide pair I liked, and bought it in the same size. No issues at all! These boots actually fit those of us with wide calves( and feet). I really appreciate that the ankle tapers in a bit, instead of being the same diameter as the leg shaft. The waterproofing and stain- resistance has worked so far. I like that they 're real fur and leather, which is much better for the environment than faux. The wool inside is so cozy and keeps my feet warm without overheating. It's going to be very cold where I live over the next few days- high temps in the teens- so I guess the real test is coming. If you 're on the fence about these, just buy them.

These boots are pretty Awesome! I have had the caribous- 2 pairs over 30 years!! and they are great for super snowy days but they are a heavy boot. These are nice and lightweight and still warm. I did size up after I ordered my normal 6. 5, TOO small. I was a little worried the 7's would be too big but they are great- I do have a little room in the heel but it is fine. I walk my dog almost everyday at least a mile if not 3 or 4 and these feel great. I should mention I do wear thin socks since I saw another review and she said she sized up because she wears thick socks. I do not own thick socks- they are not my preference. Have always loved Sorel boots and needed a new boot with good traction because my arches have fallen and feet have spread. Over the years the boots have gone from being roomy in the toe area to more narrow and fashion oriented. I was afraid this boot wouldn ’ t be wide enough in the toe box to accommodate my bad bunions. This boot worked well with a little bit of stretching in the forefoot. It looks like it might be heavy to walk in but I didn ’ t find that at all.
