Very impressed with this jacket. I used it as a lightweight winter jacket that I can travel with and use to keep me warm in the winter. It fits well and is insulated with wind protection and water resistant. It worked great walking around DC at night in December in the cold and wind. It also looks professional while not being bulky. The hood was nice for keeping me dry and warm. [ I 've been a fan of Showers Pass rain gear for a long time, and this jacket is just my most recent edition. Very thoughtfully designed with MTB in mind. The vents keep you cool when working hard. The detachable hood is a great option, once you figure out where to stash it so it does n't get lost. The sleeves cinch up just right so you can regulate air flow or totally lock it out. The reinforced shoulders are great for those long days out on the mountain. I 'd read in one review that it is n't packable, but I 've been able to fit my medium into a fanny pack no problem. Last, the attached microfiber cloth for lens cleaning is super useful. My chest size suggested a small would work, and it did fit my chest, but my arm length needed the medium. The jacket fits trim and is not too baggy.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though. [ First off I like Fjallraven products for their quality. I beat things up clothes and vehicles( I have my truck rhino lined for a reason). As a wildlife photographer I am in the hills a lot in all weather conditions so I can say I have beat this thing up even in the short time I have had it and expect it to keep up with the other jackets I have with the same material. Yeh, the zippers aren ’ t great but they won ’ t snag due to they are protected with flaps(?). Plus there are cinches in the side pockets. Not sure how they work but we ’ ll see.

[ This is a great looking fleece! The fit is a little slim and very comfortable with plenty of length in the arms for someone tall, slim, and lanky like I am. And the size chart is very accurate. Size small is just right for a 6 foot tall, 135lb weirdo like me. The material itself feels quality with a very tight knit in the polyester fabric. It's light and not too thick and still provides the mid- level warmth I was hoping for. The long collar also zips all the way up comfortably just in case the wind starts blowing too. The shoulder material is also pretty great if you 're in and out of a backpack often. One gripe I do have is that the pockets are n't fully insulated. They 're more of a mesh material on the inside, so they do n't do a fantastic job of keeping bare hands warm, especially if its windy. Not a big enough issue to drop a full star off, but might knock it down to 4. 5/5 if I had the option.

[ Overall it's a good fleece jacket, thick enough to keep you warm with an outer jacket. However, it is definitely a mid- layer as far as it is by no means windproof. So I would not rely on it without a shell layer. Do not be misled by references to the reinforcement by G- 1000 fabric. There are just small accents on the shoulders, more of a design feature than any practical functions. This fleece is true to size. A high and tight collar is a real lifesaver in winter, as well as a drawcord at hem. A big pro is that the fleece has a nice texture, trendy accents like leather pullers on zippers, and a tight fit. Hence you may wear it both on a trail and out in a city or office.

This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that `` ace in the hole '' when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket( most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.

This jacket is extremely comfortable. I 'm 5' 6 '' with broad shoulders and a more or less triangular shape( not a body builder by any stretch, though). The medium fits me perfectly with room to layer. I expect it's long enough for taller people, too. It breaths well, provides good wind protection, and a small amount of protection from precipitation. The first time I tried running in this jacket, the hood flopped annoyingly into my field of view. I have since discovered that you can just fold the brim back once or twice to tighten up the fit. This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. It's very nice to have hand- warmer pockets, which many wind shells omit.

[ This jacket is so comfy and stylish! It ’ ll be the perfect transitional piece for the fall or maybe even a summer night. It ’s very lightweight and easy to pack and carry and would be really easy to stash away in a tote bag or tie around my waist if needed. I usually wear a women ’s medium in tops, so the men ’s medium is a little big, but I prefer an oversized look for my jackets anyways. The body has a nice loose look but the sleeves are a little long on me, but again, I don ’ t mind it. I like the material which feels like the kind used in parachute pants, but it ’s not swishy and loud. What really stands out to me are little details like the chest pocket which has a stylish little buckle strap as well as a black embroidered Nike logo. These features are functional but also add a cool unique touch. I also love that the side pockets have zippers- I know this is a common feature in men ’s clothing but, believe it or not, not something I see a lot in women ’s clothing!! As a klutz who sometimes drops things, even from my pockets, this extra level of security is really helpful. I can definitely see this piece becoming a staple in my wardrobe and something I can wear on a hike, a flight, or a night out in the city.

[ Wore this on a cruise to Ireland& Scotland. It repelled wind& light rain and I found myself reaching for this jacket often. The fit is nice, I 'm 6' 4 and the XL is nearly perfect. The sleeves are little long( my size is 36/37 so this is probably 37/38) but I 'm ok with it. The front/back length is passing for my height but if the back was longer( like they do with some jackets) it would be even better. If you 're 6' 2 to 6' 3 I think the length would be perfect on both sides. The body is roomy but not baggy, and fortunately not slim fit like some. It's not the best in the cold and the material has a cool feel against the skin, so I wore this with a L/S wool baselayer. Mountain grey is a killer color, my favorite from this brand thus far. I really like they style and I got several compliments.
