After a horrible experience with the migrating foam in the footbed of a previous leather- upper Merrell, this was a gamble... but so far it's been great. Incredible cushioning, great fit. A few unexplainable hard spots on the uppers noticeable only on steep side- hills. Now on to the desert sand.

I 've always loved Merrell shoes and I do love the Moab Speed 2s I purchased and if I was to change anything it would be I should 've ordered a half- size bigger, I ordered a 9. 5 but should 've gone for a size 10, they are a little tight but I think over time they will stretch. They do n't cause discomfort unless I tie my shoes really tight so I avoid doing that. The only other thing is that the laces are too short I find.

I got the tan leather color which I love. originally went half size bigger like website suggested but it was to big so I went with my true size a 10. I ’ ve worn them the last week so far so good took a day to break them in they were tiny bit stiff but so far I enjoy them. Wore them during the rain as well and was impressed with the waterproofing feet stayed nice and dry.

I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! They were comfortable right off the go and my custom orthotics fit in then since they have a removable foot bed. I loved these boots on the trip! Completely waterproof over the foot but if water gets up to the mid part where the laces are water does come in. I am going to look for a goretex hiking gater for that.

I love these Merrells. They are sturdy, stable and feel like a running shoe. This is my 3rd pair. I have these also in a wide and is a low quarter version. I use them for hiking, dog walking in the rain and snow and walking around our land. I have used them in pouring rain and my feet stayed dry. I dont think they are sturdy enough for heavy backpacking but for a light day pack, no problem. Size wise I usually wear a 9. 5 in running and training shoes and I ordered a 10 in these and they were good. I prefer the wide version though as it gives me just a bit more toe box room, not necessarily extra width but roomier. I am hoping these will break in enough to be as comfortable as the wider version. But a great comfortable boot overall.

I have been a loyal Moab mid boot wearer for years, having owned and worn through 12 pairs or so. The Moab Speed 2 shoe was a game changer for my feet. I usually suffer from some typical small hot spots during multi- week backpacking trips, but these shoes were an absolute dream on a 26- day trip on the John Muir Trail. As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. These are fantastic shoes that offer great stability, decent protection against water, and great comfort.

I 've tried many brands of hiking shoes and this one is the best and the most durable one that I 've ever worn. Nice and roomy in the toe box. They are extremely light which is important to me doing long day hikes. The toe area is reinforced with a rubberized area. With some other brands my toe has actually worn thru the top fabric creating a hole. With the reinforced toe area that would be impossible with these shoes.
