I 've had this pack for 4+ years now. I take it on a couple backpacking trips a year on average and some day hikes where I 'm carrying more than normal. It's always fit everything I need. I 've carried a large tandem packraft and paddles with it( alpacka forager). I 've hiked 30 miles of the Kesugi Ridge Trail with it. The most notable use I think was for a caribou hunt I did a couple years ago on the Denali Highway. I packed out a cow caribou including all meat and 4 quarters bone in and the hide with my other knives and day pack type gear 5 miles down a mountain side and back to the parking lot via the trail. Roughly 100lbs. No buckles broke or came undone under tension, no rips, straps worked well to keep the load secure and close to my body. It only creaked and groaned a bit under that load, but otherwise performed well especially for not being a hunting pack. I would buy again!

This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

[ The 65L Ampex Hiking Backpack as a whole is lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. Overall, it has plenty of smaller exterior pockets that are accessible within an arms reach when needed. The waist belt pockets are a pleasant feature that I ’ ve never experienced on a hiking ruck before, which add to the accessibility of its pockets given that the pack doesn ’ t need to be removed to reach them. The padded shoulder straps are comfortable and have plenty of lashing points which are great for attaching lights or other tools. The waist belt serves well to distribute weight and secure the pack, and the pack seemed to be highly adjustable but I didn ’ t need to play with it much. The top of the pack has a quick access pouch for essentials that serves well to store smaller items without having to access the main compartment. The main compartment has plenty of space being a larger sized ruck, and has one divider that appears removable towards the bottom if it was to be needed. The top compartment of the pack is removable as advertised and can be used on its own, however it leaves the ruck feeling somewhat naked with just an exposed drawstring closure underneath. The removed “ pack ” achieved by taking it off would not serve well for a day pack as the straps just buckle into themselves to form shoulder straps. This in and of itself feels like an unnecessary feature. The main compartment has access by way of the drawstring at the top, or zippers located on the front which are great for horizontal access without unpacking the entire ruck to access deeper items. At the bottom of the pack there is an included rainfly that tucks away nicely in its own pocket. There are lashing points located on the bottom of the pack that held a sleeping mat for me quite nicely. The wire/ mesh frame that the pack sits on is breathable, comfortable, and distributes weight well when carrying lighter loads. One glaring issue that I had was the manufacturers recommended load limit of 42 pounds. For such a large capacity pack, you would think that it would not be an issue. However, any experienced camper or hiker knows that when carrying a sustainment load or anything other than a days worth of supplies, that weight will be eaten up very quickly. While this pack has many of the amenities and features of a more expensive ruck, I would recommend a sturdier pack and frame for more extended trips, hikes, or hunts. All in all, the pack is ideal for day trips or light camping. If the buyer doesn ’ t foresee themselves approaching or exceeding the weight limit, it is a very light and comfortable ruck that was clearly designed with accessibility in mind at a competitive price.

[ First off, the open front flap makes accessing my gear at the crag so easy. The built in rope tarp is lightweight, incredibly sturdy and just the right size( i use a 70m rope). I like how breathable the straps and back are even though that is not the main thing that I enjoy about this hard structured, EVA - molded backpanel with HDPE framesheet allows me to carry just about any weight on my pack up any approach, steep or long without being bothered. There are other wonderful key features of this bag but hats off to you Osprey. You guys made an excellent climbing pack.

Awesome bag that is bomb proof and so easy to pack and unpack with closure. Allows for luxury items with short to medium approach and easy to carry a rope with the top cover. Just wish they had a helmet attachment like some packs so you could have rope on top and helmet on back to help with storage space.

Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint - specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. [ I have n't put this pack through it's paces on a long trek yet, but it's been great for day hiking `` trial runs '' so far. I love the exterior access for the hydration pack, the hip belt w/zip pocket and pouch( so nice after a useless waist belt on my last day pack!), the trekking pole loops( a new feature for me), and that the compartments are perfect for my packing style. I feel like it's just the right amount of organization for me... Separate spots for layers, snacks, and other gear, without any fiddly bits. I can fit my lip balm and a couple Shot Blocks in the hip pocket, the external pockets are great for quick - access items, and the pack lashes down really well if I do n't fill it up completely. Because it's frameless, it will also pack up really well inside a carry - on for international travel. Oh - and I personally think the purple colorway is LOVELY. Spent three months backpacking in Europe upon my retirement, at age 65, with this wonderful Osprey backpack! We traveled in all kinds of weather and used all modes of transportation! I 've had this pack since 2006. It's been on many adventures with me, from backpacking in Canyonlands to training hikes in Teluride to travel through Taiwan. For several years, I used this bag for grocery shopping and going to the laundry mat, when it was often 70 pounds. It's so comfortable that even fully loaded, I can easily dance while wearing it. This pack has survived bear attacks, rain storms, deserts, baggage handlers, and having its capacity tested endlessly. After 15 years, I 've noticed the first sign of wear - a small tear in a seam. I 'm happy with the longevity of the product, and I 'm heartened that I can send it to Osprey for a professional - level repair for just the cost of one - way shipping. The All Mighty Guarantee is one reason I 'm so loyal to Osprey - they did a fantastic job repairing bear damage, and they quickly sent me a set of replacement buckles after I damaged one of mine. I love how comfortable the hip belt and harness are, partly thanks to the high degree of adjustability. If it every gets lost or stolen, I will happily buy the same bag. I barely notice my bag while I 'm hiking, meanwhile my hiking buddies complain about how uncomfortable their similarly priced non - Osprey packs are, or say how happy they are to get them off. I did n't understand the significance of a female - specific pack until I got this one - - I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game - changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

Osprey really has outdone themselves, especially with the front opening compartment. Easy access for everything and fits so many things in it as well. [ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy - style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed - in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect - able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re - close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re - close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

[ Just returned from the BWCA with my Aether 65. This is a nice pack that worked well for a 4 day self supported journey deep in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Our trip included 5 portages with 3 having quite a bit of undulation. The pack was weighed down with 44lbs of gear and was comfortable( as much as 44lbs of gear can be, definitely dropping some weight on the next trip). I liked it because I typically start trips like this fresh and strong and have my pack set up to that posture with quick( on the fly) adjustments being made as I ’ m flagging from hiking and paddling for hours. Nice pack that is well thought out with all the features you need and none that are useless. Both of my sons were wearing the same pack with zero complaints. [ I bought another version of this backpack for myself earlier this summer and I loved it so much my girlfriend ended up getting this one. Great size for a smaller camping trip. Fits comfy and the pockets are located in great spots. Does n't feel cheap and has yet to cause any issues for me. Excellent “ one bag ”( or technically two) for North/South America& Europe. It may be a bit cumbersome for SE Asia, but great for everywhere else and you could probably squeak by there as well. Removable daypack fits under seats perfectly. Great all around bag set up if you want to avoid checking bags. Great suspension on the main bag as well. Nearly as good as my EXOS& Talon backpacking bags and plenty good for train/plane/bus travels. Durable quality and strong zippers. I use it with packing cubes to keep everything organized, which works great. One of the low key best parts is separating the packs before boarding and stowing all the backpack straps. It makes boarding without hitting people with straps a breeze! I was able to carry twice the weight my husband was because the weight distribution was so good. The zippers are durable, so I could pack a lot of stuff without being too worried. I have two other Osprey packs and love the women - specific features. I bought this Sirrus for casual hiking and walking to town for groceries and other supplies. I got the right fit after watching a Youtube that showed that the hipbelt pad in front should be centered over the pelvic bone - not above it as I had incorrectly done. The torso adjustment `` ladder '' is a nice feature. I am 5' 7 '' and measured my torso at 15. 6 '', and found the second shortest adjustment to work the best at keeping the shoulder straps from riding up. This is really a comfortable and well fitting pack for me.

[ It's light enough for me to use for small loads and big enough for me to carry a few days worth of stuff as well. I like the access options to the main compartment so I can pack items in the most accommodating way with weight where I want it but not having to unpack just to access whatever is on the bottom. Osprey quality so the only precaution I take while it's getting moved out of my hands is fasten all the clips and tuck excess strap material. I appreciate the integrated rain cover more than I thought I would. I already do recommend the pack to buddies and I would buy it again.

First time Osprey customer and I purchased this based on size, looks and comfort. I used this pack on an overnight hike up a strenuous 6km up hill, through waist deep snow in places. It carried the 40 - 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. This is a great pack for both car and airline travel. I pack smart with packing compressors packing cubes but I wouldn ’ t say I pack light and I had plenty of space. The waist belt allows me to comfortably carry this pack through the airport. The straps stow easily and it fits in the overhead bin.

This bag is great. As a mobile caregiver in hospital setting, I take it to work with me and since being pregnant with unexpected happenings, it carries all my personal items. I keep my keys, pens, water bottle, snacks in there too. It's durable. Functional. I plan to carry my pumping parts when I return to work. My only wish is that it came in a bigger size like 30L. Perhaps the best backpack Nike has never made. Within a span of 4 years I ’ ve collected two with a third on the way. Well engineered and stitched together. I ’ ve use it as a personal carry bag, hauled it through congested city streets on two continents and multiple cities and even used a gym bag with all sorts of gear and at most two pairs of shoes comfortably. The side pockets can hold two 32 ounce vacuumed sealed water bottles without any issues. The top small pocket intended for sunglasses has enough ample space for additional items like headphones and a case for glasses. Fully loaded I ’ ve ever had one of these backpacks is at most 45 pounds. Shoulder straps are wide and really comfortable. The adjustability of the shoulder straps is effortless. The addition of the sternum strap gave more stability for heavier loads. The MOLLE style attachment points makes this bag even more versatile to add more items to the face and sides of this bag and has came in clutch many times over. It ’s over built enough for many years of extensive use. They ’ re a bunch of key features I ’ m forgetting but overall you can not go wrong with this bag. Definitely worth it ’s weight in gold!

Weighted my Talon 11 down heavy with a piece of cherry burl I got out of my back woods while on cross country skis. Really comfortable. Only considerations are I wish the hip pockets were positioned more forward and the zippers were a little more beefy.
