It is firm and definitely more firm than the Styrofoam ones at the gym but its not nearly as firm as the reviews made me believe. Unlike most of the Trigger Point rollers this one is solid foam which has a little more give and is more comfortable than the hollow core rollers from them. I have this and one the hollow core rollers they both have their plus sides. This is not quite as aggressive and is there fore more tolerable for extensive work or sensitive muscles.

This has been every single thing that I needed for my plantar fasciitis. I have tried baseballs and a frozen water bottle, but this? Works wonders. I am an endurance runner and over time, I have built up somewhat of an immunity to regular entry level foam rollers and have been looking for something more intense to achieve the results I am looking for, both pre and post workouts. I was searching online on ways to reduce muscle soreness and loosen my tight muscles and found out about foam rollers. I spoke to a colleague of mine who was a cross fit instructor and also recommended on. I previously bought one made just out of foam and did n't find it effective. It was too mushy and I could n't feel it working. But this trigger point grid x really worked well! I can feel it deep in my muscle tissue. My range of motion and recovery seemed to improved as well! It ’s cost effective for sure, but that wasn ’ t my deciding factor. The shorter length of the bar allows me to use more torque on my quads without it bending like some of the others did. I had been using a water bottle that I froze in the freezer and after a while it would start to leak. But, with this foot roller I 'm able to treat my foot and not have to worry about water leaking all over the place. I have used it hundreds of times without any issues or problems. Totally better than( insert an amazing feeling here, yes, I know and mean what most of you would insert here) I 've suffered with a pinched nerve in my neck since I was 2 years old due to a car wreck.
