My husband loves this new backpack I got him for Christmas. It's very nice looking, has a lot of pockets, and holds a lot. We got the smaller size( 26L) as this will be used for simple travel as opposed to hiking.

[ I have n't had the opportunity to take it out on a hike yet. That said, I love how it fits, how light it is and the frame structure, which I 'm sure will make it more comfortable and breath better when hiking on hot days. I 'll be taking it on a 2 day hike in Joshua Tree National Park in about 6 weeks.

The Hikelite 18 is incredible for travel, day hikes, daily commuting via bike, and more. It fits under an airplane seat, has hydration bladder capability for day hikes, includes a chest and waist strap to secure the bag to you when biking, and it is the perfect size. I can not recommend this pack enough.
5
Green G.
Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

[ Excellent service. Thank you so much. Your people are such a joy to work with. However the product zipper has a latent defect that has not been corrected. The zipper doesn ’ t hold up. Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.

[ I now proudly have a small collection of Osprey Packs! This Daylite Plus pack is perfect for my days in the office and running about town. It is made sturdy enough to endure anything I need to do and still stylish enough to pass as a normal person in the world who looks cool! Not the woods dwelling gnome that I actually am. The bottle holders on each side is a sign of hydration minded design that is placed into the profile of the pack as opposed to sticking out the sides. I like the kangaroo pouch that holds a lot of my snacks. Also, the 3 inner compartments are perfect for placing the items I need in separate compartments; no digging to look for what I need. Thank you, Osprey, for another quality pack that fits my needs!

I have this as a backpack and I love it. I am still in high school and I honestly could n't want a better bag. In my opinion it is a little small for all the stuff I had but not too bad. I love the look of it, the skinny cute bag is so nice and i love the light blue on gray. The side pockets are a bit small for all water bottles but most of the time i do n't have a hard time pushing my bottles in. The wire on the side though makes it hard sometimes but u just have to make sure you press down and not out.

This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible- even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on- slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go- to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

I bought this pack a little over a month ago to be a low profile pack that I can every day carry to work either in my truck where it sits in my passenger seat or when I take the train into work. It ’s great, well made, handsome and fits my yeti coffee cup in the side pocket perfectly and very securely. If the only thing it did was carry my coffee, I ’ d be happy, but it has pockets for my ever expanding gear that I carry and the pack shapes nicely with the small dry bag that I keep inside it. The quality of workmanship and design details are superb and even though it ’s a humble pack compared to the rest of Mystery Ranch ’s packs, it ’s a contender! I was super stoked that I got this pack just a few days after ordering it and I haven ’ t left home without it ever since. Brilliantly done Mystery Ranch! Oh yeah, I also use it as a stuff sack/organizer inside my MR Blitz 30 when out on a ruck in the Cascade Mountains.

just got back from a week of long hikes, bikes& climbs& I had one of these strapped on for all of it. I 've never had good experiences with packable day bags but I 'm glad I gave this one a shot because it was excellent! super comfortable all day& weighs basically nothing. Comfortable even with 2L of water& some gear! also of course it seems to be indestructible

Let me tell you, folks, they don ’ t want you to know about the Mystery Ranch In and Out 19. I ’ m talking government- level secrecy. I ’ m talking Roswell, Area 51, men- in- black- staring- at- you- from- the- corner- of- the- parking- lot levels of conspiracy. But guess what? I ’ ve got the truth right here, strapped to my back, and it ’s lightweight, packable, and potentially from another dimension. The Mystery Ranch In and Out 19 doesn ’ t just carry your gear—it carries the burden of knowledge that we ’ re not alone. This 19- liter wonder was clearly designed by extraterrestrials, likely reverse- engineered from UFO wreckage they found near a New Mexico desert. I mean, how else can you explain its otherworldly design and functionality? Exhibit A: The material is lightweight but suspiciously durable. It ’s almost like they blended carbon nanotubes with alien alloys, then wrapped it in something soft to the touch but strong enough to fend off intergalactic threats( or at least some thorny brush on a hike). No mere earthbound polymer could achieve this. I ’ ve seen classified files about “ advanced textiles, ” but nothing like this. Exhibit B: It packs into itself! Yeah, that ’s right. You ’ re telling me this thing can fold down smaller than my government- issued UFO tracker? Tell me that ’s normal. It ’s like it knows when I need it. One second it's a full- on hiking pack, the next it vanishes into thin air, tucked away in my glovebox like some sort of interdimensional artifact. It ’s compact, inconspicuous, and probably has a secret compartment to hold alien documents or, you know, snacks. Exhibit C: The breathability. Who thought of this? Who decided, “ Hey, let ’s make the straps so light that you barely feel them ”? It ’s like the pack was designed for those extra- terrestrial beings who travel faster than light and don ’ t need sweaty backs weighing them down during long- distance abductions. Forget NASA. This is the real space- age technology. Exhibit D: The 19 liters. Nineteen liters is exactly what you need to carry provisions for an extended alien stakeout. I checked the math. You could carry binoculars, a flask, some tinfoil hats, a radar detector, and still have room for an X- Files box set in there. It ’s almost like the designers knew what we ’ d be up to. Let ’s talk pockets. The stretchy side pocket—definitely designed for holding alien energy crystals, but they also fit a water bottle. Coincidence? I think not. And the zippered top pocket? Perfect size for your intergalactic passport or, you know, an energy bar if you ’ re on a terrestrial hike. I was on a “ recon mission ”( aka hiking in the woods, totally normal), and the pack just molded to me. No bouncing, no shifting. Almost like it was communicating with my back. Are we looking at advanced alien ergonomics? Almost definitely. Conclusion: The Mystery Ranch In and Out 19 backpack is the smoking gun of outdoor gear. Sure, it looks like just another backpack—that ’s what they want you to think. But for those in the know, it ’s a clear sign that they ’ re out there, sharing their technology with us, one ultralight, ultra- packable backpack at a time. In summary, if you 're looking for a pack that combines cutting- edge tech with probable alien origins, look no further. Just be careful. I ’ m pretty sure the moment I bought it, a black SUV started following me. Coincidence? I ’ ll let you decide.

My wife and I wanted something for an upcoming trip to Disney world to put our rain jackets, water and snacks in. This pack was perfect, it folds up small enough to put in our luggage and was comfortable enough to wear all day every day. There is plenty of storage for day trips. [ Love love love this pack. I ’ m not that experienced a hiker however I do know comfort. This pack is well- made. The frame allows it to move as you move without having deadweight on your shoulders. I got this pack the 24 L a little larger than my 22 for my Grand Canyon rim to rim hike, it doesn ’ t come up until October but with my practice hikes I find this to be very comfortable this pack. Also, the hip pockets are larger than most so you can put snacks and other important items that you need there. I love my new pack, and I am currently traveling with it in South America. The compartments fit my packing cubes perfectly, and the shoulder straps are very comfortable. I ’ m pretty sure I could travel for several months out of this pack, if I stayed in a similar climate zone. I ’ ve been able to carry it on to all of my flights so far, and fits easily in the overhead compartment of the jets I have been on. My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

[ This is a great pack for younger kids. It is our second one, we bought an ace 38 a few years ago for one of our other children. Knowing how well that pack worked out, we decided to get another one for one of our other children, one of the improvement of this version over the previous version is a hit belt pocket to put snacks into for easy accessibility while hiking.

This is a great pack, very light and versatile. Comes with a nice rain cover that packs easily into the front pocket. The gray color is very cool and keeps the contents of the pack cool on hot sunny trails. I really liked the main front zipper to access what I needed quickly from the pack.

This is such a cool camping/hiking backpack, it has more pockets than I 'd know what to do with. There is a little pocket at the bottom that holds a waterproof cover. It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. I like that the main compartment can unzip to fit a sleeping bag or other bulky items. I have n't used it yet for hiking but it will be great for our next camping trip!

This bag is a great size and style. It seems to be good quality. Has multiple storage places. The padding on the belt makes it comfortable to wear. Will for sure fit all your hiking/exploring necessities.

The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

I bought an Exos 48 to downsize and reduce from my Aether 65. I ’ ve been on two 7 day treks and it ’s worked out perfectly for less than 30 lbs loads even with a bear vault. I ’ m 71 and trying to extend my backpacking days with lighter loads. This pack is versatile as well. I intend to use it for 15ish lbs load on an Alta Via 1 hut- to- hut hike on over 11 days in Italy this fall. Highly recommend.

[ I ’ ve taken it on a 4 day 3 night hiking trip to Mt Rogers in Virginia, and I can truthfully say the pack did everything as advertised.. Thanks

I have the Exos from like 7 years ago, I think 2 or 3 models ago. The ones that came out after my version had a mix of materials for the side and front stretch pockets. Mine is all stretch mesh which I prefer. I also have the hip belt pockets but I think they are smaller than the pockets on this new version. I am very happy with my Exos and love the vented back panel and having the option to remove the brain/lid to make it a smaller bag when needed. I have even used it as a day bag when the brain is removed. If you are on the fence between this 48L and the 38L, look at the dimensions, this one is only an inch wider. I am sure there are improvements on this new model but I am really happy with my old version. If you are n't someone that counts every ounce possible, this is a great pack. It is in a good price range for all you get with this bag. It is lighter than most packs in it's size range, has a lot of external storage pockets, internal frame, and has the best ventilated back panel I have used.

[ I bought this bag because of its many features and the external frame it has. This is one of the most comfortable bags I 've ever used, and it's mainly due to how well the bag supports weight. ` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

[ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I was reading the reviews and was saddened to see a not so good one... I love my Tempest! I want a new one, only because it is so- so dirty from travel and use. It is my daily driver, I keep it in the car for dogs, hikes, exploring, I take it skiing for snacks, layers, water and goodies, I take it overseas China Great Wall, South Korea Hiking, Europe day trips and for quick outings, hiking, exploring the foreign towns and cities. I am buying a new slick silver one for skiing and day hikes. I 'll keep the old one for the doggies and the car. I love my Tempest!

I recently went on a camping trip to Big Pine, CA. I hiked up to First and Second Lake which was about an 11. 3 mile hike and roughly 6. 5 hours. The Tempest 9 was perfect! I was able to fit a 3L hydration pack, my snacks, a small first aid kit and other items for the hike. I was a little worried the Tempest 9 was going to be too small, but it did the job. When it came time to selecting a size, I measured at 17 '' '' so I could have gone with either the XS/S or the M/L, I went with the XS/S, however, wished I would have went with the M/L. The hipbelt ended up coming up to my bellybutton. Overall, I am really happy with this backpack!

[ This is my fourth Osprey backpack. I needed a daypack to hike Pike's Peak. This fit the bill, plenty of room for water. Change of clothes and snacks with room to spare. Used this pack to complete 120 miles and 38K vertical feet for the Annapurna Circuit high altitude trek through the Himalayas. It was my amazing constant companion. Living out of a backpack for multiple weeks will bring out the best and the worst and I can ’ t find a single complaint with the pack. I could nitpick a bit, sure, but I ’ ve never had a pack come even close to this one in thoughtful details, overall design, customized fit, and the big one- comfort! You ’ re never going to forget the weight is there, but this pack was so comfortable that during breaks I often just left it on. Wouldn ’ t consider going with another brand now. The lid doubling as a( actually robust) daypack was key! My friends were jealous of that feature. Amazing backpack and the Osprey system is just so top notch! Thanks, Osprey!!

Jake
[ For the average backpacker, the Aether Plus 60 is the epitome of backpacks. I think Osprey has really come up with a pack that does it all. This pack is not only a combination of the best features found in their other great packs, but an evolution of new innovative features, making this one hard to beat. My favorite features on the Aether Plus( also found on some other Osprey packs) are the removable lid that converts to a day pack, the Stow on the Go trekking pole holder system and the stretchable “ stuff pouch ” at the front of the pack. But specific to the Aether Plus, the complete access to the interior of the pack from the front and the additional two front vertical pockets make this pack extremely convenient. The straps on the side of the Aether Plus are contrasted in color compared to the nearby straps from the hood to make it easy for your eye to pick up the “ correct ” strap when securing everything. I don ’ t know why Osprey decided to switch the color scheme of the straps( light and dark) on this pack as compared to the Xenith, but the idea is the same; it makes it easy to discern what ’s what. These features married to the stable, yet comfortable and beautifully designed, adjustable nature of the suspension system, make it a pleasure to use on the trail. It even comes with its own rain cover in its own little bonus pouch! I love that pouch for its ability to also stow an ID wallet or next section ’s map, thin gloves, or other small items you may not use on a regular basis. There's lots of ways to strap an item to the outside of the pack if need be and the design of the shoulder straps make it easy to attach a shoulder pouch or a Go Pro type of camera, and of course, secure the hydration tube. The Axo Green color just looks like it belongs in the forest and the 60L size is perfect for most of my three season trips. There ’s no reason for me to look elsewhere. Certainly, if you need the room for colder temps, long excursions, or the need to pack a portion of someone else ’s gear, the Aether Plus has you covered with the 70, 85 and 100 L versions. Will this pack evolve? Of course. Just like everything. But you know how we ’ re always saying, “ they always discontinue the good stuff ”? I ’ m confident I won ’ t have to say that about my backpack, now that I have the Osprey Aether Plus 60.

So surprised there are no reviews on this exceptional pack. Bought this after doing a 32 mile trip using a new Patagonia Nine Trails 36 liter pack. My shoulders and hips were so sore I had to find something else that carried 32lbs better. On first 4 day trip I grew to appreciate the thought that went in to its design. The answer for my needs was the Aether Plus 60. After using something else first, ca n't stress enough how well this pack carries the same load. The beefy cushy shoulder straps and hip belt carry loads extremely well! Love how the top lid turns in to a great day pack and holds a 3 liter reservoir. The 2 extra pockets( Plus model) behind the shove- it pocket are perfect for an ultralight chair on one side and rain gear on the other so do n't have to take up room in main compartment or cram under the side compression straps. The large zipper pulls on all pockets are a great touch and much easier to open than anything else ever used. I absolutely love the easily detached DayLid! The 2 pockets on it keep you organized- can even turn the DayLid storage in to a 3rd pocket to cram more gear in if needed for more organization. The main compartment slider pull is a very clever design that lets user easily open it without any trouble. There are so many options for attaching bulky gear or putting stuff where you want that I still have n't fully explored yet after 1 trip. The lined hip belt pockets are well designed and provide ample room for headlamps, snacks on one side and use the other side as a storage compartment for a HydraPak Hydrant squeeze bulb. This pack is perfect for my needs and really do n't know how it could ever be any better or improved any further by Osprey. Yes it is expensive but for the quality you are getting, do n't know how one could do any better.

I have always carried Gregory Packs and I thought they fit well. Until I tried the Tempest 20 L Extended Fit. I can not believe a pack can be so comfortable! I can fit everything I need for a day hike with room to spare. It did n't come with a water bladder so I use the bladder from my Gregory pack which works great. At the end of a recent hike, we sat down to eat and my husband asked me if I was going to take my pack off. I actually forgot I was wearing it! Best pack I have ever owned for a plus size, short woman. And I love that it is black. I do not like girly colors. Now I am holding my breath for Osprey to make an Extended Size of the Sirrus 34 L or 36 L. Please! Thank you for making packs for the `` '' not so average sized '' '' hiker.

[ I used the bag on a flight for a hike. It ’s a nice bag. Yes like everyone else says, where the water bladder would go is so tight. If your bag is full, there ’s no way a bladder is fitting. Fits comfortably

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

[ I bought this about a month ago and have done two backpacking trips, it is one of the best backpacks I 've owned so far. Osprey really has outdone themselves, especially with the front opening compartment. Easy access for everything and fits so many things in it as well. Easy to clean and the straps do n't hurt as bad as other brands.

[ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy- style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed- in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect- able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re- close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re- close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

Finally a large woman's specific pack! Thank you Osprey! I have been using men's or unisex packs my whole life until last year. What a difference specificity makes! This pack is so incredibly comfortable you do n't really know you have it on. I am certain I will be able to travel more distance without fatigue with this pack. Six pounds for the M/L may seem like a heavier pack, but the infrastructure and material is worth it. This pack will be my only pack for multi day trips! Thank you.

[ Excellent service. Thank you so much. Your people are such a joy to work with. However the product zipper has a latent defect that has not been corrected. The zipper doesn ’ t hold up. This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

[ This Ampex 65L transcend backpack is quite impressive. It checks all high- end features like- waterproof material, little pockets for essentials is awesome. It provides really decent support for the frame on the back and the rest on the hips, rather than on upper back and shoulders. Lastly as it is 65L- it can pack everything needed for international or a multi- day hike comfortably.

I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

[ The 65L Ampex Hiking Backpack as a whole is lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. Overall, it has plenty of smaller exterior pockets that are accessible within an arms reach when needed. The waist belt pockets are a pleasant feature that I ’ ve never experienced on a hiking ruck before, which add to the accessibility of its pockets given that the pack doesn ’ t need to be removed to reach them. The padded shoulder straps are comfortable and have plenty of lashing points which are great for attaching lights or other tools. The waist belt serves well to distribute weight and secure the pack, and the pack seemed to be highly adjustable but I didn ’ t need to play with it much. The top of the pack has a quick access pouch for essentials that serves well to store smaller items without having to access the main compartment. The main compartment has plenty of space being a larger sized ruck, and has one divider that appears removable towards the bottom if it was to be needed. The top compartment of the pack is removable as advertised and can be used on its own, however it leaves the ruck feeling somewhat naked with just an exposed drawstring closure underneath. The removed “ pack ” achieved by taking it off would not serve well for a day pack as the straps just buckle into themselves to form shoulder straps. This in and of itself feels like an unnecessary feature. The main compartment has access by way of the drawstring at the top, or zippers located on the front which are great for horizontal access without unpacking the entire ruck to access deeper items. At the bottom of the pack there is an included rainfly that tucks away nicely in its own pocket. There are lashing points located on the bottom of the pack that held a sleeping mat for me quite nicely. The wire/ mesh frame that the pack sits on is breathable, comfortable, and distributes weight well when carrying lighter loads. One glaring issue that I had was the manufacturers recommended load limit of 42 pounds. For such a large capacity pack, you would think that it would not be an issue. However, any experienced camper or hiker knows that when carrying a sustainment load or anything other than a days worth of supplies, that weight will be eaten up very quickly. While this pack has many of the amenities and features of a more expensive ruck, I would recommend a sturdier pack and frame for more extended trips, hikes, or hunts. All in all, the pack is ideal for day trips or light camping. If the buyer doesn ’ t foresee themselves approaching or exceeding the weight limit, it is a very light and comfortable ruck that was clearly designed with accessibility in mind at a competitive price.

Used this pack for a 14 day hike. It was comfortable and kept my back dry. Good value for money.

I really love this pack. It's the second one I 've used as I 've only been backpacking for about 2 years. It is the perfect size to accommodate all of the things I need, but it's not so large that I over- pack. I 've used it on weekend trips on the PCT, a 5- day trip in the Sierras and on a 4- day Rim- to- Rim Grand Canyon hike. I could fit a small Bear Cannister in the pack and my tent was on the outside of the pack for the 5- day trip. I am more of a minimalist when it comes to what I put in my pack, so some people might need a larger pack for longer hikes. Sometimes the chest strap feels too high, so I would like a lower option for that, but I am 5' 4 '' '', so that might not be a problem for someone who is taller. I 've used the bladder reservoir as well and it works great. I have n't used it in the rain yet, but I do n't forsee any problems. When the pack is heavier( 30 lbs), I do feel soreness on my hips, but when I can keep it lighter( last trip 24 lbs) I have no soreness from using this pack. I also like that there are n't a lot of compartments so I 'm only looking in a few places if I do n't remember where I put something.

Best travel backpack I have purchased. Tough and durable, it is really well designed and assembled. Plenty of pockets, almost everything is secured behind a zipper. It fits easily under the seat on a SWA flight. Front pocket for your tickets, top shallow pocked for phone, wallet, and watch while going through TSA. Stands up and is pretty balanced. I purchased this bag to travel with. I am actually on a trip as I am reviewing this, and I am highly satisfied. Very well made. Lap top fits easily in the soft line slot( This bag also can hold my MPC LIVE 2). If you 're looking for something with a lot of outer pockets, this is not the bag. Yet, it has enough interior space for a smaill travel bag or daily commuter bag. I like the minimal pocket design. Less places for me to forget things. Quality alone this bag would get 5 Stars. It's minimalist design, with `` big bag '' features would make it a 10 out of 10! I definitely would recommend this bag. Oh, and it slides right under the seat on a airplane. PERFECT!

I hiked across Spain for 500 miles over 35 days carrying this pack. I had NO issues and it was so comfortable. I carried about 13- 15 lbs with a water bladder. Only wish the water bladder nozzle had a cover as every time I set the pack down my nozzle touched the ground- good for my immune system! I just feel so grateful for my pack. One of your sales people on the phone recommended it after I tried several other models and sizes. Could n't be happier. One of the zippers broke before my trip but it was n't key. Compartments perfect size to hold passports and small wallets. Side pouch holds large water bottle and you can sinch it tighter for smaller bottle's. Clips were there should be. This is NOT a packable backpack. By that I mean it is too big to be considered that. This is actually good, very good in fact. The quality of materials and construction make it a bit big. Also returning it to it's `` pack '' would be difficult and eventually probably would damage the pack. It looks great, well thought out and constructed. The size seems just right and the shoulder straps should be fine. I plan to leave it flat in my travel stuff or just stuff it.

Bought this pack for a short backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. I have lower back pain so I needed a pack that distributed the weight very well. My pack was about 30- 35lbs and I made it the entire trip without any pain or even soreness in my low back. It was quite incredible considering the many elevation changes- I 'm definitely impressed. I will say that toward the end on our hike out my shoulders began to cramp up so I had to do some adjusting to the straps but I think it's just I did n't have it set right. [ The Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack: A Versatile Companion for the Trail The Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack is a formidable choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a durable, versatile, and comfortable backpack for their adventures. Having used this backpack on several hiking trips, I can confidently say it's a reliable companion for both day hikes and extended treks.** Durability( 5/5):** The Transcend 50L is built to last. Its rugged materials and reinforced stitching make it resilient against wear and tear. Even after traversing through rough terrains, the backpack showed minimal signs of damage, a testament to its outstanding durability.** Capacity( 4/5):** With a 50- liter capacity, this backpack strikes a great balance between being spacious enough to hold all your essentials and compact enough to prevent overpacking. The main compartment easily accommodates clothing, camping gear, and food supplies, while the numerous pockets and attachments allow for organized storage of smaller items.** Comfort( 4/5):** The padded shoulder straps and back panel provide decent comfort, especially during long hikes. The airflow system helps keep your back cool and minimizes discomfort caused by sweat. However, some users might find the hip belt padding a bit lacking for heavier loads, and it could be improved for even more comfort during extended treks.** Features( 4/5):** The Transcend 50L boasts various thoughtful features, such as multiple gear loops, hydration reservoir compatibility, and adjustable straps for securing your gear. It also includes a rain cover, which is a valuable addition for keeping your belongings dry in inclement weather. The only downside is that some users may find the zippers a bit tricky to operate, especially when the bag is fully loaded.** Price( 5/5):** The Transcend 50L offers great value for its price point. It competes well with more expensive hiking backpacks on the market while maintaining a reasonable cost. In summary, the Transcend 50L Hiking Backpack is a reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a durable and reasonably priced backpack. Its versatile design, decent comfort, and excellent durability make it suitable for a wide range of hiking adventures. While it might not be the absolute best in every aspect, it delivers a commendable overall performance that will serve you well on the trails.

Weighted my Talon 11 down heavy with a piece of cherry burl I got out of my back woods while on cross country skis. Really comfortable. Only considerations are I wish the hip pockets were positioned more forward and the zippers were a little more beefy.

[ Although this is sold as a small backpack, it is mighty perfect for a day hike. Love the top zipped compartment, great for stowing those most important items that you need without searching. Along with the perfect zipped area on the waist belt- fits my iPhone 15 perfectly. This pack just keeps on giving you options to place items that you need quickly without stopping to take everything out to find what u need! Oh and the outside side pockets on both sides are ideal for water bottles. And if you really need water, you can buy the bladder accessory as this pack is bladder ready! Must mention it had an easy clip for a biking helmet, and my trekking poles easily attach to the straps. This pack makes my hikes even more enjoyable!

[ Love the Talon 11! This is my second one, the first lasted around 18 years before puppy shredding and worn out zippers did it in.

[ This pack is versatile and comfortable. Fits enough to do a 1 day up and down Mt. Whitney to easy day hikes. I put a 3L bladder in mine and the weight of the bladder does pull the keeper at the top of the pack down and deform it a little. My wife uses a 2L and her Talon 11 doesn ’ t experience this. Overall an awsome product, durable and comfortable.

This is my new go to hiking backpack, I like the it is a little longer than other backpacks, makes it so that it can fit a lot but it is not so

I used this pack on a winter 7 miles, 3, 200' elevation hike breaking trail most of the way. I packed from the bottom up: belay parka in a compression sack, burly goretex shell jacket, 2 one liter nalgene bottles, extra gloves, med/ emergency kit( about 1L in size), 2, 500 calories of snacks, nanopuff jacket. Two headlamps and keys in the internal zip pocket, map and microspikes in the external zip pocket. Two 16oz waterbottles in each side pocket for 3L total, neither side waterbottle fell out while butt sliding down the trail. Samsung Galaxy S22 fit nicely in either chest pocket, chapstick in the elastic pockets. 25 '' snowshoes on the S/M pack were easy to put on a take off with a sling. I did n't use the zip pocket next to the waterbottle holder but it definitely seems like it could be useful. Used the double sternum strap( very comfortable!) to clip my gloves to the bottom and tuck them under the top so no snow fell in. I carried the pack around for 15 minutes with 30lbs of rice and beans in the back, it carries the weight well but you can feel items through the back if you do n't pack right. No soreness the day after hiking. I plan to take this out on longer day hikes- presidential range, great range where I might want extra gear but do n't want a 40+L pack. No signs of wear after a single hike getting snagged by trees, seems like it will be durable. Sizing: I typically wear my packs at 18 '' torso, the S/M mens is a perfect fit, I had about 1 '' extra waistband with a 28 '' waist. I bought the Deuter SpeedLite 28 womens but it was terribly tiny all over, this is everything I wanted that pack to be and better. Overall: Very well organized, lots of attachment points, lightweight, comfortable, and moves well with the wearer. Well worth the price.

[ It looks modern, the colour is perfect, the dirt won ’ t show easily. It fits my body perfectly and I love that the weight falls on the hips. I also love the multiple openings and how much the pack can hold!

[ Tested out the Sirrus 36 for the first time in the Moosehead Lake Region in Maine. This pack is great for any type of hike from a short day hike to a long trek and beyond. It's very comfortable and sits well on the shoulders. The weight distribution is great and it is very easy to adjust as you 're moving. It is very easy to secure your trekking poles and you 'll be checking to see if they fell out because you do n't notice them- do n't worry, they 're still there. Absolutely great pack for all types of hiking and treks. However, this pack truly shines on moderate- hard trails that require some climbing and meneuvering. You have to try it.

I 'm somewhat heartsick I ca n't keep this pack. I love the zippered compartments... easy access and also very tidy and contained. I LOVE the sage color! I will buy this pack as soon as you create it with the old system of S/M& M/L suspension systems. As a 5' 0 '' '' woman I just do n't ever fit anything created to be one- size- fits- all! When I put it on, I ca n't put my head back to look up&, frankly, it just looks ridiculous. I understand that making only one pack sizing system is cost effective, but for anyone who is vertically- challenged, it just does n't work. Please redo it... and keep the great color! I would recommend this to anyone who is over 5' 5 '' ''.
