Excellent for winter to cut the wind and retain heat. Had multiple deer come within 30 yds and jacket noise did not alert them. Used as a top layer with layering( and heated vest, socks, and gloves all on lowest setting) during a 12( F) degree morning, never got cold and didn ’ t feel the wind. It does not have pockets, which helps with retaining heat and one less thing to leak down the road, but I use a small pack to carry in. I do suggest breaking it in a bit. [ I got these in size M with the 6 inch inseam and they fit perfectly, i am 5 ’ 11 and 180lbs. Originally ordered size L with 8 inch inseam and those were baggy on me. Very comfortable and i love the back zipper pocket. Only thing i didnt like was the netting on the inside which i just cut out with some scissors, now they are just like regular boardies. Some people like the netting, i dont. The color scheme is beautiful, it dont get no more American than that!

I was wearing this jacket when I had a horse riding accident. When I tell you I absolutely flew off the horse and slammed into the gravel- this jacket should have ripped immediately. My last pair had the zipper to make shorts, which I hardly ever used and was less comfortable due to the zipper. I ’ ve put a ton of wear and tear on these pants with backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, and general travel. For being as breathable and light as these are, they hold up to abrasions pretty well. I ’ ve had tons of branches, rocks, and trees slide on these without any major damage. The integrated shoelace/string belt on the interior of the waist is a great little compliment to the external belt loops, no extra bulk with a little extra security. One small negative I have for these are the elastic cinches at the cuffs. They ’ ve held up fine so far, but I ’ m always worried about losing one of the little clips that go on them. Just make sure you loosen them before taking the pants off and double check that the 2 pieces are still there.

But it seems a bit cheaply made. The padding on the knees are not very thick and there is a little tab of velcro at the top of the zipper to prevent the zipper from working it ’s way down. It ’s not really needed because there is the velcro mock collar tab above the zipper on the neck that already covers the zipper. I ’ m going to remove it
