Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.

I 'm very happy with this purchase. The only recommendation for improvement I can make is that the cork handles come unsealed. Since these are going to be used heavily in a wide range of weather conditions, from the hot Arizona sun, Monsoon rains, and even snow, I felt it essential to seal the cork to ensure the handles hold up to the use I plan on giving them. I recommend UV- 40 cork seal. I have used it on fly rod handles I have made and it works perfectly, and lasts many, many years. Make sure to follow the application instructions on the bottle. Apply one good coat using a bristle brush. Make sure you do n't have any drips, runs or sags. Do not apply a second coat, as it will not penetrate.

Just purchased these poles after reviewing my health issues. Being a diabetic for 57yrs I am developing some balance issues. Researching canes I discovered how anti- postural they are, plus clumsy. An elderly neighbor was seen walking with trekking poles. I thought that was a good idea. I purchased my set from a chain sporting good store and got some walking shoes as well. Studied how to properly fit and use trekking poles. The experience is natural when set up correctly. Walking gate and posture are enhanced and I look forward to many walking excursions. I live in the intermountain west which is perfect location to use this valuable tool.

During the summer time, these are always on my poles. They never fall off and eliminate pole ticking. They also provide a fair amount of friction and are not slippery. Each set lasts me about 800 miles give or take. I 'll continue buying these as long as Leki keeps making them!

I ’ ve had my Leki collapsible walking cane for 20 years. On a recent trip, when it went through this screening machine, the rubber tip came off and was lost in the machine. I was so happy that I was able to replace it. It shows how durable their products are. It ’s so nice to be able to collapse it to take it with me on trips. It fits nicely in my carry- on. It ’s also nice that I can adjust it to my height.

I bought my first Distance Carbon FLZs way back when Black Diamond first offered them. I used them in all kinds of desert hikes, big mountain summits( Mount Whitney, Grand Teton, Granite Peak in Montana, Gannett Peak, etc,), all hard going and a LOT of pole abuse. My second pair ditto. Then two days ago I came hustling down 2, 000 feet from a peak in Oregon, in brush, scree, and snow, and one pole broke internally and came apart. Can you understand my anger when I only got 11 YEARS out of those crappy poles??[ Just kidding, of course.] I have other Black Diamond poles for snow, etc., and I do n't look anywhere else for top hiking/climbing gear.

[ I used these on a 7. 5 mile hike with 3400 feet of elevation gain-- it was constantly up and down-- and they were great. Some of the adjustment clasps were difficult to close, but once I wrangled them, the poles stayed put and did n't shrink or expand without my consent.( I 've borrowed poles that shrank when I leaned on them.) These are the first hiking poles I 've owned, and I 'm excited to get more use out of them.

I never have used hiking poles before but decided to get them in place of ski poles to help me with walking and snowshoeing during my knee replacement rehab. Literally used these poles for the entirety of the Appalachian Trail. Tips were worn by the end but that's usual for a 2200 mile journey. The fact the price is so good for the durability is great. One downside( and thats just because its carbon fiber) is they can snap easier. Had that happen to me a couple years ago when I crossed a stream, jammed it between rocks and slipped on it. But considering they survived 2200 miles means they are great as long as the user doesnt do something stupid.
5
ColoDrz
I 've had these trekking poles for over 3 years now and they 've performed at the same level as my more expensive poles. I originally got them as a backup to my Black Diamond trekking poles that I 've had for 12+ years as I got tired of having to change out the boots when I alternated from concrete to gravel trail, which is how I use the poles most of the time. In 2021 I took these on a 5 day hiking trip in Olympic National Forest and they were great! The flip lock mechanism makes it very easy to collapse and expand the poles as they went in and out of my daypack. Since then I 've used them seasonally on trips to Colorado or just the local gravel trails when it's not too hot. For the most part I do n't really collapse them- they stay expanded in my garage, ready for use. Another review mentioned these making a noise- I have n't experience that ever. The cork grip is great if you have a smaller hand. My only complaint is on the straps, which there is a limit on how small you can tighten them due to the stitched felt padding.

We hike several times a week and go ~10 miles each time. These poles are never not in my hands. They have saved me from serious injury on several occasions. I have neuropathy in my left leg/foot that causes drop foot. I took a fall going down a cliff and the poles caught on a tree and stopped my fall. I had broken ribs, wrist and thumb, but it would have been worse if I hadn ’ t had the poles. Amazingly, the pole was still working perfectly and I still use today! We decided to purchase an additional set for each of us a couple years ago, and interchange using the sets. Couples we hike with also have Cascade poles, which speaks highly on the quality of the product! We have decided to purchase 2 more sets so we can keep a set for each of us at our 2nd home. In total we will each have 3 sets of poles. Similar poles cost 3- 4 times more, so save your money! Don ’ t hesitate purchasing these trekking poles. You won ’ t regret your decision!

My wife and I have used these for years for hiking. Then two years ago she had a knee replaced and uses one Trekking pole for stability. She is a medical professional and keeps her Trekking pole by her side as she makes her rounds. She has become a poster child for your Trekking poles as many of her patients have asked where she purchased them. They all remark how light they are and how they are able to fold up. Best poles we have ever used. And yes we are still hiking! She now needs to order new “ gym shoe tips ” because she has worn down the tread!
5

Pros: the wicking sweatband works great, super lightweight, doesn ’ t add unnecessary heat, works great to block the sun, packs easily and small Cons: strap isn ’ t removable and with a tight fitting crown you can ’ t really tuck it inside, the sun flap is noisy in the wind so maybe a heavy strip of fabric down the middle to solve that?

These are replacements for poles that I had for more than 3000 miles. These poles lasted through many adventures in the desert Southwest and through the mountains in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. I watched all of my fellow hikers on the Appalachian Trail go through 2 to 6 pairs of trekking poles, but my poles lasted until after the 2200 miles traveled to Katahdin. They broke on the descent. I loved those trekking poles and I am thankful I had them!

Bethanie C.
I love my poles. I have n't had much experience with trekking poles in about 15 years, but these fit the bill. A greedy little bush pulled one of my snow baskets off, and is more likely operator error( not putting the baskets on tight enough?) than the poles.
5
Karina K.
Love that these collapse and lock small enough to fit on the side of my pack without sticking out. They ’ d even fit inside larger packs. The snow baskets are also really easy and quick to put on and take off.

These are like the rolls royce of trekking poles that I intend to use on Mt Rainier and hopefully other high mountains. The cork feels good too.

These are premier. While this is my first set I am impressed. I am 6'- 4 '' and was concerned with the height being what was needed. As I unpacked them and adjusted them out they did not come near maxing out in order to fit me. Also, the locks are secure I am not sure what it would take for them to slip. Buy thesae poles, you wo n't be excited.

We got these to replace a pair of decade old Komperdells that finally have started to fail on us. They are great- we have used them for winter hiking and snowshoeing up by Rocky Mountain National Park and they are light weight with easy to use and very functional locking mechanisms. Awesome product!

Recently purchased these trekking poles from Black Diamond and took them on my most recent backpacking trip. Hiked roughly 38 miles in two days and these trekking poles were fantastic. The cork handles are amazing and keep your hands from getting sticky and sweaty. The poles are lightweight and the straps are extremely comfortable. Highly recommend!

The Osprey Transporter Waist pack is an absolute game- changer, especially for women who do n't have pockets to carry their essentials like phones, sunglasses, Vaseline, and wallets. This pack is perfectly sized and has the added benefit of being waterproof from the front. It did n't take much convincing for two of my friends to see the value and purchase their own Transporter. The design is incredibly well thought out, and I 'm delighted to carry the weight with me wherever I go.

I was looking for a waist bag to keep secure my documents, at the same time, strong and comfortable to use. The back compartment is big and easy to reach to put the documents. The front compartment is spacious. I had sunscreen, hand sanitizer, moisturizer, lipstick, money, earplugs, snacks, and other items. One of the advantages is that is not counted as a personal item on the plane so I did n't have to reach for my personal bag under the chair. I wore it both ways, sling and in the waist. The design is minimalistic and the material is easy to clean, plus weather resistant.

[ Took 2 of these car camping for the first time this weekend in an effort to save space. We normally take a popup for shade. Combined with a 12' Noah's tarp, the setup held up well in light winds. [ Used a few times and it has so far held up well! It ’s lightweight but sturdy at the same time. The only concern I have is the wire inside that keeps it together. [ There are my first hiking poles and I am really enjoying them. The extentions stay in place securely are are quick to adjust. The cork is comfortable and absorbent, I am a very sweaty hiker living in a high temperature area so it important for me to have a secure grip. I only wanted poles with cork grips. I am enjoying how the poles make my hikes more of a full body workout than not having any and my knees are much happier. I have already caught myself one with a pole when I would have slipped on some risky ground and my stream crossings are more secure with more limbs. The carbide tips are very reliable at finding purchase along the trail. I am trying to get my husband to buy a pair for himself. He is only 2 inches taller than me and these were a good value. An investment in our joints and hiking safety.

I received this as a gift, as my wife and I are avid tent campers. This has allowed us to ditch all of the different bins and bags that we had to load/unload and search through when we hit the road. Excellent quality and very functional design. I do wish there was a separate compartment underneath for camp grill storage, but overall this is very versatile addition to our gear that makes camp life much easier!
5
HOBL54
We bought this item two years ago and it is a dream. We keep all our kitchen gear in it and there is room to spare. We could probably shove everything into two of the storage bags and use the bottom compartment, unzipped, to store the camp stove. We leave the table top in place so we can use the pocket for longer items like spatulas and tongs that wo n't fit in the gear bags. I love that the camp kitchen is modular, so everything is convenient; no digging through plastic bins. I 've seen people go to great lengths to build camp kitchens like a cabinet maker, but this is smaller, lighter, and just as durable. Assembly out of the box is not too bad, and sometimes one of the legs resists sliding( a little dry lube should keep that working). When my brother and his wife joined me for the eclipse and saw how I had my site set up, they said, `` Let's just get whatever he has. ''

[ I just used this pack for a week of day hikes( 10 to 14 miles each day). I could not be happier with it. I have the small size, and it fits my 4'11 '' torso well. The hip belt sits properly, and the weight balances nicely. I was able to comfortably carry more weight than I expected, and I felt stable going up and down hills. It was great- I trekked along without having to think abut my pack. My favorite part of this pack is the shoulder straps. They are much softer and more flexible than other packs I tried, while still getting the job done. They adjust easily. They 're shaped nicely and do n't dig anywhere! The shoulder straps are often miserable for me with my small shoulders, and these are a dream. The cell phone pocket on the front of one strap is genuis, and I put my sunscreen in a corresponding pocket on the other shoulder strap. This Monocular is all that it should be. One of the best things to me is that you only have to focus one eye. Focusing is easily done with the knob and you get a very well defined image.

Whatever anyone says about this product, do n't listen unless it's good. This is absolutely hands down the best handwarming product on the market. There is literally no downside to this product. Is it worth the investment? Hands down, order it today. It takes 60 seconds to warm up, and it will hit 100 degrees and truly stay that way for 12 hours. It takes mayyyybe an 8th of a normal size zippo container to FILL it for the full 12 hours, which is more than anyone needs. To be honest, I get the zippo containers with the flip top, squeeze the bottle in there three times, light it and go. It keeps me warm while I walk my entire 10 mile trap line, exceedingly warm. Best part? It never goes out. Second best part? It gives off next to no odor and I never hesitate to take it hunting whether its deer or rabbits or whatever. Absolutely incredible product. For what it costs you 're almost robbing zippo. Ive bought 5. Given a few to friends and family but always keep a few extra around for me and my boys when we go huntin.

If it is used every day, you will go through a lot of lighter fluid and it takes a good while to heat up to optimum heat level. Once heated, it is very good. Much better than the battery operated models.
