I 've barely had this a month and it's already a favorite. If you see other review from me, you 'll get that I 'm obsessed with the TENCEL selections, this is no exception. I have no shortage of Carhartt jackets of varying weights. The cut of this is very flattering, these pants weight is perfect for spring and summer nights, or chilly days. It's still breathable, yet a nice layer to keep the chill off. I got black and thought I would regret it due to how other collect dog fur and random fuzz, but the smoothness of this fabric attracts less lint/hair and when it does get in there, it's far easier to brush off. The stiffness of other Carhartt jackets does not exist with this one, that stiffness serves its purpose, so just know that before buying. This is durable, but not as heavy duty it's perfect for general work and for going out. The flexibility is phenomenal and. I greatly appreciate that the sleeves allow for larger arms or layering without being balloons, I would n't be able to wear a sweater under it, but long sleeves and flannels fit perfectly without bunching. Seriously, they knocked it out of the park with this jacket from looks to fit to function. I 'm very tempted to grab the green as well and will watch for more colors.

I ordered the small size and the fit/cut is great. Both body and arm length spot on. Elasticized wrists help keep it in place and get the draft out. Enough room for underlayer and not bulky or puffy. material is n't noisy either. I have enough black in my wardrobe so I got the dark green/olive and it goes with everything. [ When the weather changed for our Portugal trip I needed a rain jacket fast! This jacket exceeded my expectations. It POURED rain on us and i stayed completely dry! The hood and extended visor prevented all rain from getting to my face and hair. I have waist length, super curly, thick hair and this hood kept it all in and dry! the length was perfect and prevented my lower body from getting wet. [ I came across this jacket when searching for a synthetic alternative to my down jacket for backpacking. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Glad I bought it during the big sale!

This is my favorite jacket! I is lite, sheds small amounts of rain and I breaths very well. I live in NE where we have plenty of wind so it comes in very handy. It takes off the chill in the early morning when I walk the dog and I can wear it with an insulating piece in the late fall and early Spring. This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

This jacket I has an incredible warmth to weight ratio. The reinforced areas are positioned perfectly for use with backpacks and tactical gear. Very comfortable and warm. Packs up very nicely if you ’ re a backpacker and space conscious.

I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I have a number of OR gear/jackets/fleece. For reference I 'm 5'10 '' and weigh 215 average build so I typically wear an XL in OR and L in some other brands depending on fit. This jacket is very well made and everything fits to be expected except at the waist. It's very small compared to my other OR jackets which surprises me. It is warm but the Storm color is n't accurately represented in the pictures. It's a much lighter grey color in person.

I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. It is also roomy enough for layering underneath, and I enjoy the big pocket for storage in the back. 10/10 would recommend.

I bought this recently after outgrowing a jacket I used for many years! I keep my jackets for multiple years and am very pleased with it so far. It ’s extremely cozy and warm and I get cold easily! I live in the interior of BC, Canada, where it ’s often brisk in the mornings and evenings. I am 5 ’ 6 ” and 170lbs of muscle with wider hips and shoulders- this jacket in a large fits perfectly with room for a hoodie underneath while not being too tight on my bum. The forest green colour is also beautiful and matches my green eyes but that ’s besides the point. I love it and hope it lasts many many years!

I wanted to leave a review for other petite mid- size women as it is hard for me to find jackets that fit without being drowned in sleeves. I ’ m 5 ’ 1 ” 155 lbs measurements 40- 36. 5- 41. 5( between US sizes 10- 12) I ordered a large because I wanted it roomy enough for a sweater inside but not so big I look like a potato sack. The Large met this need, I can wear it with just a base layer, when I hike in the winter and add a sweater if it ’s too cold. The sleeves because of the cuffed ends worked well for my short arms( usually large jackets the sleeves go past my arm or balloon so much in the cuff, this one didn ’ t). My gloves did not get “ pushed out ” by the sleeves Overall great down jacket for a petite mid size woman, worth the price

I ’ ve had this coat for a few weeks now and I love it. It ’s dreamily warm, looks fantastic and the pack down feature it really going to be great for travel. It has even performed perfectly on walks in temperatures well below freezing. I ’ m just over 5 ’ 6 ” and 150 lbs, athletic build and medium works well. It was slightly larger than what I thought it would be, as I am hoping to use it under a waterproof layer soon, but the small would likely have been too small. Still thinking it will work as a mid layer when I need it to.
