I recently competed in the Back to Bataan Memorial half marathon wearing these shoes. Ten days earlier I had gone on a 10 mile walk wearing my waterproof Merrill Moabs, which was a mistake and I should have known better. I developed a large blister due to the heat, which I medicated prior to the BTM event. Worried about what shoe to wear, I purchased a pair of the Speed Strike 2, and had exactly 3 miles on them when I entered the race. It was the smartest decision I made. They were light and handled the dirt and sand perfectly, and I could n't even tell I had an issue with the blister. My feet got a little dirty, but I never felt over- heated. They were great right out of the box.

perfect lightweight hiking shoe for the outdoors. I took these to Alaska on vacation and put them to use. Hiked trails, mountains, roads, rivers, explored tidepools you name it. all around a great shoe. I would recommend pairing these with a good insole if you plan to use them for long periods of time as the bottom of the sole( outside the shoe) is very rigid and durable, but at times the stiffness and hardness can be felt on the bottom of your foot.

Been trying everything from trail runners to hiking boots, and always have knee pain due to meniscus surgery and metatarsal pain especially on pavement or downhill. So far I 've only hiked about 10 miles in these, but it's the first 10 miles without pain in years! Fit wise, I have low volume, long arch, c width feet with all the width at the toes. I sized my normal 11. 5D and while an 11 would have fit, the 11. 5 felt better. No issues with foot slip, no hot spots. Shoes are squishy, but return energy such that they do n't feel soft. Great for pavement and trails. Well done, Danner.

[ Recently broke these in during a trip to Supai, and they performed great. Wore them in temps ranging from 30s to 80s, and I was comfortable the whole time. Water resistant enough to splash through some light streams, and did really well in sandy conditions. I wear a 10 in most brands( my go to running shoe brand in Brooks for reference), and these fit great with hiking socks. These are more of a lightweight boot/heavy duty running shoe than a true boot, but that is my preference. They seemed like they will hold up well over time, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

So far these have been great in the cold, snowy winter. They seem to be waterproof as advertised and are relatively comfortable. They work well for shoveling and are comfortable enough to wear to quick trips to stores, etc. I would n't want to wear them all day long. I specifically went with the all black version of these since they look like sneakers not something you 'd wear to climb Everest. I recommend them.

I have worn these on a few light hikes on gravel with my dogs, two days in downtown chicago, 6 miles each, and i now understand what `` energy return '' means. And my foot is a bit narrow, especially in the heel region. The Sirens offer a good fit profile for me. No slop in the shoe but no pinching either. These are very well- made. [ I bought these shoes for an event coming up in June that will require me to be on my feet for at least 8 hours. At 71 years old I really need them to preform well. As a long time Columbia customer I 'm sure that I wo n't be disappointed. I have n't put them through a full test run but the time that I have worn them I have found them to have great comfort.

I generally hate hiking shoes due to their weight and bulk, but definitely don ’ t have that problem with the sypes. [ These are sturdy enough for light hiking and lightweight enough that I wear them everywhere, all the time. The toe box is spacious enough to accommodate my weird feet, and the inserts and good enough that I do n't have to replace them with orthotic- wear type insoles. The color fades quickly, but who cares? I have a sort of weird gait, so I wear down the outside of the heel sooner than I would like, but that happens with all my shoes. I do n't think it's a durability fault, because most of the sole retains its tread.

These are an awesome sneaker. I love a slip on shoe and these allow you to have a slip on style shoe but still feel nice and snug with their lacing system. The padding around the ankle and heel is SO soft and comfortable. It feels like a tempur- pedic pillow for your foot/ankle. These are great for a trail but also just for normal walks or going around town. My only recommendation for improvement would be that the end of the laces/string bounces around a bit while you are walking. I have just been tucking them back under the laces to fix this but would be nice if there was something on the shoe that could do this for me. Either way, awesome shoe!

I have worn these on a few light hikes on gravel with my dogs, two days in downtown chicago, 6 miles each, and i now understand what `` energy return '' means. These shoes give you some extra `` spring '' in the ball mound of your foot and feel really lightweight. I like the lacing system but I think people will overtighten these if they 're not familiar with how to use it. I have n't gotten them dirty yet- I do n't want to! They 're too pretty.

Great hiking shoes. I love that it is easy to clean the smudges off when I go walking on trails. The soles are a bit hard and will need to get used to. There are no need to tie up the laces which I like since it won ’ t come loose. You can still adjust them though.
