I liked the leather uppers and stainless steel blades which were well sharpened out of the box. Stainless steel is harder than other steels and does not rust. The fit was great, but order a size smaller than your normal size. They are easy to skate on and well balanced, tho I am a beginner skater, I do love these skates. Good job Lake Placid.

I 'm a beginner skater and invested in some skates since I live near a rink now and can go skate at least three or four times a week. I tried out various skates( including the less expensive Lake Placid Cascade skates) before I settled on the Alpines. These skates were far superior to any of the others. They are sooooo comfortable- even after skating for a couple hours. The memory foam lining of the boot also feels like it's molding to my foot. Great ankle support and the leather boot was worth the extra money( the Cascade skates are plastic/pleather). I highly recommend these if you 're looking for a good, affordable pair of skates. A note about sizing: I wear a 9. 5 and the size 8 fit great.

These are actually the Alpine 900's. They are comfortably wide, plenty of toe room. I normally wear a women's size 9. I ordered a 9 for me and a 7 for my daughter. The 9's were about an inch too long. I decided to try my daughter's on and they fit well with room for comfort. The original skate was too small I got online with Dick's Chat line and within a few minutes a return was processed and a replacement skate was ordered in the correct size. I received the replacement skate in 3 days and the return slip was emailed to me the same day. Dick's went ahead and shipped the skate without me having to purchase the same pair and before they received the incorrect pair back in stock. This was not Dick's error but mine, I ordered the wrong size. The skate is great it looks like a good quality of material and is what I expected. For sporting goods Dick's will get my business.

I was tired of my stiff- boot ice skates and finally decided to find a comfortable pair of skates, and these absolutely fit the bill! They are padded in the entire boot and are very comfortable. I wear a wome n't size 11 shoe and these fit true to size for me. I 'll admit I 'm a little nervous about the laces being in strap- type material rather than through metal, but I 'm hoping that wo n't be a problem. I l think they are a great value for the price-- and they also look great.

I ordered these skates online mainly because I liked the looks of them and crossed my fingers that they would fit and be comfortable. They fit and they were very comfortable! However the lace up closer system left me skeptical. I was afraid to tighten them too much and have a loop pull out. I reluctantly returned them and will definitely be looking for another pair of Roces skates to purchase with a traditional lace up system because they have the padded comfort that I am looking for.
