They ’ re lightweight but have plenty of cushioning to make them comfortable to wear for extended periods and an array of activities. [ This is great. Honestly, when I first wore it out it was a little too tight for me and I thought I needed a bigger size. Since it is a waterproof shoe, you can expect it to be a little bit tighter obviously to help keep water out during rainy training days. The second time I wore them they felt much better and didn ’ t feel as tight. I normally go half a size or a full size up for running shoes. I ’ m normally a 9, but did a 9. 5. The cushion on these shoes is amazing. They have the new zoom cushion which is super comfortable and you can wear out for long periods of time. I did a few recovery runs in this shoe during the rain storms we have been having and they did great on concrete with rain, road with rain, and some softer terrain with muddy surfaces. I didn ’ t feel like I would slip or anything while running- the grip on these shoes is amazing.

I have trained with it mostly on the road, where the cushioning and responsiveness have made for a smooth, comfortable run. But what surprised me the most was how well it transitioned off- road. Even on slick trails and uneven ground, the traction held up and gave me confidence to keep my pace steady. The Gore- Tex is also a huge plus. My work schedule does n't always provide the flexibility or the luxury to take rainy days off, plus sometimes I get caught in unexpected showers. With the Vomero 18 GTX my feet stayed dry, and I did n't lose any of the support or comfort. I never felt weighed down, and the shoe moved naturally with me no matter the surface. [ This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They 've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road- to- trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

They are extremely light weight making walking the inclines easier to go up. The waterproofing on them is fabulous to! I really like these! I originally purchased the green/black color way but they did n't quite match my wardrobe. These bring the cool/athleisure/hiking vibe without being too rugged to wear or style. I love them with leggings and they look cute with straight- leg jeans as well. I will say they 're not the most breathable shoes, but I do n't expect leather shoes to be that. Really excited to wear these in the fall, and excited to have a white boot that's not suede that will be easy to take care of. Definitely recommend. I like these boots. I work in a prison and needed a black boot that looks smart and conforms to our uniform dress code. There really isnt a lot out there for women which fit the bill. I have shopped at all the competitors sites, have ordeed from others only to immediately send them back because the boots made by others tend to not be made for thebshape of a womans foot. I required something made to fit a woman's foot so that I would be less likely to suffer injury. I required something relatively water resistant, and professional- looking. Though these boots were not intended to be uniform tactical boots, the all- black color choice are the closest I could get in terms of fit, comfort, and appearance... and made for a woman's foot. These boots are comfortable, sturdy, and the Vibram outsole is exactly what I need to help me stay on my feet while walking on a variety of surfaces, and standing for long stretches of time on concrete while tending to my duties. I have not, as yet, wirn them to work... but I have worn them around the house and outside. These are, handsdown, the most comfortable prospects I have yet worn as far as a boot I intend to wear to work. I do wish, however, that Merrell would make a duty boot for female officers, with vibram outsole, polishable toe, and made tonwithstand the worst winter weather the Northern Great Lakes region can throw at them. But... for now... mthese boots wornnwith warm woolnsocks will have to do. At least, they will be comfortable and look good.

The black Merrill Mid Wrapt Barefoot Hiking Boot is great. I wear an 8 in most shoes, but I use orthotics because of my high instep arches, so I went one size larger and with my black Thorlo roll top socks they are very comfortable and fit perfect. Ryka shoes are my new favorites. My first Ryka purchase was a pair of Echo Knit Slip- on Sneakers and they fit like they were made specifically for my feet. Same thing with these LX Walking Sneakers. They hug the feet with no rubbing in any unwanted spots. They are lightweight, very cushioned and have excellent arch support. I have a long narrow foot and have a difficult time finding walking/running shoes that are narrow enough for my feet but Ryka, medium width are narrower than other brands I 've tried. I 'd recommend you order the wide width if you typically wear medium width in other brands. I 'd also recommend sizing up ½ size if these will be used for walking/running. I mistakenly ordered the same size as the Echo Knit Slip- ons I had- 8. 5 medium- but for running I should have ordered a half size larger. It's too late to return them because I 've already worn them outside for a run, but they are great for just wearing around. I guess I 'll need to order a 3rd pair of my new favorite shoes!!

Great hiking shoes. I love that it is easy to clean the smudges off when I go walking on trails. The soles are a bit hard and will need to get used to. There are no need to tie up the laces which I like since it won ’ t come loose. You can still adjust them though.

I like how lightweight these shoes are, to function well for hiking as well as generally walking and running around. They are adjustable with the bungee and comfortable for hours, especially as someone who has narrow feet. It runs true to size but in hindsight I should have gotten a little bigger to accommodate thicker socks for hiking.

I was worried that because they were waterproof they ’ d be too hot but my feet have never gotten hot. You do need to put inserts in them as they have no arch support but I just put my normal inserts in and they were good to go! I sized up a half size.

I bought these for a recent trip to Banff, Canada and they were amazing. They arrived only a few days before the trip so I was worried I would have issues with breaking them in but no problems! We did an 11 mile hike the second day of wearing them and I only got one tiny blister( which let ’s be honest, probably would have happened anyway).
