Great pitching machine for younger kids. Almost did n't buy it because the description indicated batteries were required. It actually does have a port for an ac/dc adapter but the cord was not included. Luckily we had an extra one which worked great. Machine is easy to use and adjust. The kids love it. I purchased this a few weeks ago in order to work on batting and fielding skills with my 12 y/o son who is playing his second year of little league. A big factor in choosing this over other machines was the ability to go anywhere without being confined to an electric outlet. The machine is surprisingly consistent and we are utilizing both Heater balls and baseballs. You do lose a little speed and distance when using actually baseballs but that was expected and easily adjusted for. So far pop fly and pitching settings have been great. Haven ’ t utilized ground ball settings yet. The key to proper use is being consistent with how you set the arm while loading and maintaining a consistent steady pull each time. Would recommend this if in the market for a pitching machine and not wanting to spend a fortune.

Everything about this machine is 5 star. So good for teaching kids to hit live pitching. So much fun for backyard baseball. I am not sure who loves it more, the dad's or the kids. Also, jugs is such a top notch company. All of their products are over built in terms of quality. Their spare parts are cheap and easy to find when something breaks. I absolutely would n't but a machine from another brand. My one piece of advice is that the Jugs brand balls wear out quickly, are very expensive, and soak up water. We use Athletic brand foam balls and they work perfectly without the problems.

I bought this soft toss machine. It tosses baseball or softball to a batter. It runs off a 12 volt rechargeable battery. I have a 20 year old one I bought brand new. It works perfect after all these years. I replaced the batter every so often. I had to replace the arm on it after the 12 year. I called jugs for the part. I sent them the picture of my old machine and model# they sent me the arm free of charge. I own 3 today because I coach and do camps. I have zero issues with any of then except replacing the battery's. I found a good trick to preserving the battery's. I bought a trickle charger at harbor freight. I hooked up this trickle charger to the battery. I drilled a hole for the wire to come out of the machine. I then put a connection on the outside for the charger. I plug in my machine at night when not in use to the trickle charger. My battery's last 2 to 3 years and ready to go any time with out over charging my battery's. I made wooden cases for my machine with foam inside for safe travel. Work horse machine. Love jugs machines. All there products are quality stuff. I only by jugs products.

A great friend for those who want to improve groundstrokes, volleys etc... when you do n't control your working schedule, or no one is around to play with. Remote control is not a must but surely saves you some minutes. Suggest 100 balls so you can count the shots missed and figure your percentage. Load balls in a way most will stay in the upper part of basket. This way you 'll prevent a bigger number of balls from satying in the basket as it empties. The all around court feature offers better result when machine is placed in one extreme side of singles marks( or doubles). If you place it in the middle, most balls will fall out of court either in on side or the other due to angle. If you are not used to play a lot, take it slow in order to prevent tenniselbow or armstress, which will cause you not to be able to practice for a few days. Take notes of best positions of ball machine, speed and height angle so that you do n't have to go through it again next time you practice. Ball hopper IS A MUST! And cones can assist you to aim at right places. So far I have improved my backhand more than anything else, but surely will practice my forehand too. Great machine!!

Unit is surprisingly accurate. Get a net to catch the missed pitches or you will be chasing balls all day.

We bought this pitching machine for our two grandsons ages 9& 7. It was easy to set up and they were able to start playing with it right away. I was worried the speed of the balls would be too fast but that was not the case. They were able to catch the balls at the higher speeds. They love it.

Built and indoor batting cage in the basement and this machine is perfect. Had to figure out the math since I 'm using `` response time '' based on the distance instead of the actual speed dial. My basement is 40 ’ and had several “ higher level ” kids practice with it and verified real life game speed and the machine settings. Using the pitching machine balls only for about 8 hours a week with no issues at all. The self- feeder is also great so we can set it up and get close to the batter( next to the net) and really watch their swing without feeding the balls manually.

My son was falling behind his team mates as I could n't pitch a baseball to him. We did some research and this was a great entry level machine for us. We got it for him when he was 9 and have used it for 4 years. He has out grown the speed, but it is great to angle up and shoot out fly balls. I also angled it down and we can shoot out grounders. Great machine and well worth the investment.

This is exactly what it says it is. Perfect pitching machine for the smaller golf ball sized balls. My son and I hit wiffle golf balls before every game to get hes eyes on the ball. This machine is perfect for that, indoor or out door. I live in the Cleveland area so its pretty windy and this pitches through it no problem. I enjoy hitting off it as well. The balls have a true flight to them also, you can really hit them far. As accuracy goes its really like any other pitching machine you have to dial it in and it will occasionally throw some bad ones. Which I think is fine, you dont get perfect pitches when you step in the box.

These balls are nice quality. They are solid with a slight squishy feeling. When used in the heater pitching machine they come out slower because of their weight. If they get wet or damp they are even slower through the machine. My not have enough velocity to make it farther than 10 feet when wet.( wet because the grass is damp) When dry they can go far enough to simulate a pitcher. Not perfectly but enough for back yard practice.

A neighbor and good acquaintance of mine who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals bought one of these new Changeup machines. He told me it was the most effective machine he has ever used so I bought one for my sons. It is amazing how it throws change ups with a push of a button on a remote just like your car. You ca n't tell it is slowing down or speeding up. It is just like hitting against a pitcher in a game. The speed changes immediately in between pitches. Best money I ever spent to improve my kids hitting.

Just used it for the first time with my high school son. I was skeptical that the Changeup would somehow be telegraphed to the hitter. I thought for sure you could see the wheel slow down. I was wrong. I thought for sure you would be able to hear the motor slow down. I was wrong again. Finally, I figured the machine would take too long to adjust from Fastball to Changeup. Wrong for the third time. Hitting off this machine is just like being at bat in a game. When I played in high school and college, batting practice off machines became almost automatic. You knew the type of pitch, the speed and the general location before the next ball was pitched. This machine changes everything. My son will be able to learn to keep his bat back and not let it drift forward on off- speed pitches. If you are a serious coach or have serious ball players in your family, this machine is a must!
