Got this to help with car camping in the back of our Subaru Forester and it is working great thus far. The D batteries are larger and heavier but also seem to give the pump the oomph it needs to do the work. If there were issues with a slow leak or stretching of the material, I figured it 'd be much easier to simply use the built- in pump to add air instead of having to fiddle with an external pump in the middle of the night. I 've laid on it for a few hours and have not had any issues with leaking or stretching of the material. Mind you, I 'm a good 275 lbs in weight, so that's saying something. I 've even let air out of it while laying on it using the pump. The only quibble I have with it is that the center line of the mattress is basically a hump that you 're on top of if you 're a side sleeper like me. It would probably be ideal if that center line were to be a valley for we side sleepers. With the mattress more firm, your body wants to roll one way or the other off of that hump. That said, with some air let out of the mattress to allow for my shoulders and hips to sink down into the mattress for better spinal alignment, it was n't an issue. Time will tell about durability but so far I have zero issues in that domain with this mattress. The only thing I can see as a possible improvement is that it 'd be cool to see one with the double height design, edge support, etc. e. g., Coleman, if you 've got a successful design with the battery- powered internal pump, why not go for the taller designs as well that make it easier to get in and out of?

This battery operated air pump works like it should. It is easy to use and will blow up any inflatable easily. It does use the batteries quite a bit but it is so much easier than hand pumping. This is Dick's Sporting Good's version of a closed cell camping pad. It's thin, but all of them are thin. If you are> 175 lbs, do n't bother with this as your only pad. It's also not that long( 71 inches), so if you are over 5'10 '' you will probably have your feet or your pillow off the pad. I wish they would include an R- rating for the insulation. The best way that I 've seen to use this is to combine it with other pads. On a cold night it adds extra insulation. My 9 year- old son tried it camping and did n't like the way it felt under him at first. I added a flannel sleeping bag liner between him and his sleeping bag and he thought it was perfect. It kept him warm when the weather dropped into the 20's. For the price, it's probably as good as the competition for comfort. It may even be as good for insulation.

This is the only bag I use now. I was able to fit an extra pair of sneakers and flip flops in the side compartments and utilized the spot for my 13 '' iPad. I do have one little gripe( not with the bag, but the packaging) You guys wrap all of the zippers in tape and paper, I 'm assuming to protect them from getting scratched. Do you know when it will absolutely get scratched? When I 'm trying to cut the tape off. Let them be free! Anyway, I love this design. I have a couple of these and I take one on all my adventures. I also volunteer with search and rescue and we are required to carry one because of the multitude of different uses. I suppose it's original intended use is as a sleep pad. I have used it alone like that several times and it works as expected if you sleep on it alone. Now let's get into a few other common uses that I 've found for it. Lay it out to kneel down in snow and dig through your bag and keep your knees off the cold ground, for a seat while taking g a snack break on the trail, for an extra insulating layer under an inflatable sleep pad, to protect your inflatable from punctures, i cut one up to add some extra padding on a pack once, i also cut pieces to make a padded belt for a home made sled once, I 've also cut up an old one to make small sit pads. They are cheap and very useful not to mention super light weight. Just get one and throw it on your pack. You wo n't regret it.

This is the second one I 've had. The first one had a slow leak that Intex was VERY responsive about replacing. The airbed itself is awesome. Lots of support. The headboard is something I never thought I would use until I have one. Great for reading or just wasting time on the internet. Also, headboard keeps pillow from pushing off the bed.
