I sold off both of those machines with no regrets and now use the equinox as my primary machine and have never done better. The battery life is great, about 13 hours on a charge. It is extremely versatile and can detect at salt water beaches, open fields, low level trashy parks and playgrounds. It is very lightweight, well built and can be adjusted for use by anyone of any size from roughly 8 years old to an old guy like me that was looking for a light weight detector to swing. Great for the casual, vacation, weekend hobbyist. For the more experienced detector user, it can fill the part of a quick grab and go detector you can trust to find good targets up to 8 '' deep in any situation. Mine has already made some good finds and was easy to learn and use for my newbie grown kids. They found some nice targets first time out. I wish it had a pinpoint mode. [ We needed something easy and non- techy to install on doors and windows to ensure our 94- year old mother would n't wander outside without us knowing. In the past she's opened the sliding back door and walked down the street. She easily gets lost and will get very upset... it's horrible. We have great neighbors who are aware and very helpful but these little door window alarms are fantastic. They were super easy to attach to the sliding door, her bedroom window and our side door! They even came with the batteries and little mounting strips. I recommend you plan where you want to place them cause they stick really well!! I went to move it after a day( since mom kept poking at it) and it was securely mounted on the window. The settings( we use the little bell) are under the little removable plate, so mom was n't able to turn it off or fiddle with the settings. Definitely great for peace of mind when I am in the other room doing dishes or checking on something in the oven. We do n't use the alarm setting but man is it loud. I set it up the first night just to test. My husband practically fell over himself when he opened the sliding door to let the dog out. Really happy with this purchase.

Beautiful screen. Touchscreen with pinch& zoom is great working with the map. Nice to have manual buttons also. The fish reveal is very nice. Easier to see the fish!
