I recently went on a backpacking trip to Sykes hot springs in Big Sur where I knew that 1. 5 L water bottle is the minimum size I needed. I did n't want to carry a large collapsible bottle so I took this 2 L one with me. It's so easy and convenient to fill this one in streams/ rivers you can hold a bottle by the side handle and due to the wide 42 mm opening it's a breeze to fill in water there. I then clip a combo of different adapters: hydrapak Plug and Play adapter, hydrapak filter adapter, filter from peakgravity, and sawyer sp 150 coupling. Then I attach it to plastic water bottle and leave it or press on the bottle to speed up a process a little bit. So far this is a very convenient way to filter the water for me. Maybe not super fast but I feel safe with this setup.

Trying to get back to consistent running and going longer distances. I previously had another brand ’s vest that I only used collapsible water bottles in the front pockets and never used a bladder. Always had comfort issues with it though and overall felt like I could never it to fit comfortably. For this vest though, I have run three 10 mile+ runs and find this one very comfortable. I was easily able to adjust this to fit correctly. I find the bladder easy to use and has been good to use with Tailwind Nutrition as my fuel of choice. I like the available storage as well and enjoy having a space for my phone. There is also so much more storage that I could utilize and have barely scratched the surface of. I did carry sunglasses with me on a run and was nice to have them with me even though I didn ’ t ultimately use them. Definitely happy with this purchase and look forward to more long runs with it.

I purchased this last spring for my motorcycle trip from Spring Branch, TX up to the Arctic Circle in Alaska and back. It performed flawlessly for the whole 31 days and 11, 525 miles on the back of my MoskoMoto panniers. The little dispensing valve was great, as I could refill small water bottles, brush teeth, splash face and wash hands, wash/rinse dishes, mix cocktails, etc., all right from the bag holder on the back of my bike. Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.

Traditionally not a fan of riding with packs but this works so well and is great for staying hydrated. [ Bought this to replace a leaky bladder in my running pack made by another company. It does not leak! The zipper feature is nice; it clicks once it's fully closed. There is some structure so you can open the bladder with one hand, which makes filling it easier. It barely fits inside my pack, but it fits, phew.

The feel of the holster in my hand is great-- and easy to tighten as needed. Lid controls water flow well, too. `` Insulated '' is maybe a generous word, though. This is the best running water bottle I have. It holds a lot of water and some light emergency stuff in the pocket. At first it was difficult to get any water out. So, I pulled the light gray center rubber all the way out, then reinserted it just until the tabs clicked into place. After that, water flowed much better. Also, I took a can coozie and cut the bottom off of it and slid the sleeve onto the bottle to insulate it.

I own most water purification systems on the market. The Grayl is my latest purchase and is now my go to. I backpack in the north Ga, NC, TN mountains where water sources are usually close by but not always easy to get to. If I can ’ t reach the source, I tie paracord to the metal eyelet, lower the Grayl, fill it, pull it up and press the water through filter and I ’ m back on the trail in minutes. When I stop for the day, I use my Grayl stove to boil water in the Ultrapress to add to my dehydrated meal then use the same system to boil water for my morning coffee. I bought a second for my wife. These do wear out with heavy usage and have to be replaced once they start the mysterious slow leak, in which water escapes into the backpack with no discernible source.
