The only thing that I 'm disappointed in is that I did n't try these until right before the Vaporfly 4 replaces them. I 've had these for close to a month now so they are broken in. First pair of On and I do like the styling or how they look. In terms of comfort, they are good but not great. It could be that there are better products that On makes that are more suitable for my foot shape. For comfort, my pair of Hoka Mach 5 are a more comfortable shoe than the On Cloudrunner for walking. On zappos web site they advertise that the 7742 has gore tex lining and vibram soles, you might want to check on that one. Other than that the boots are really comfortable.

I bought these with skepticism- Nike usually has good looking shoes, but often underdeliver with quality and functionality. These shoes get the job done. I purchased with the intention of wearing them in the weight room- no desire to run and/or jump in them. They provide excellent ankle support and a wide toe base so that you 're able to get your feet set before every lift. The firm sole provides little toe bend, which I appreciate. I would n't recommend them if you 're wanting to run, they 're heavier and on the clunky side, but think they 're well suited for a lifting or HIIT type shoe.

I appreciate the rear foot stability provided by the deep snug heel counter. I got a great fit by removing the insoles to insert my custom full length foot orthotics. A few triangles of synthetic material seem to be somewhat breathable. The forefoot is flexible and roomy, for the balls of the feet and the toes. Good ground feel and ‘ touch ’. They have a cool classic look. These days in Nike, I am either a Men ’s 11 or 11. 5 Medium. The 11. 5 is just right- with thin socks, like the Nike Spark socks.

purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

Great lifting/training shoe. I wasn ’ t initially sold on the design coming from the 8, but once I got them in hand it grew on me immediately. They look great, feel more stable than the 8 ’s, and have a little more toe room. One additional thing to note is that the traction pattern is way better on the 9, as my 8 ’s toe traction ripped after repeatedly doing planks. It seems like that will not happen with the 9.

[ When the shoes were delivered to me, I didn ’ t think I had gotten the correct shoes with the box being super light. To my surprise, the shoes were in fact just this light! With the Air all on the bottom of the shoe I was skeptical on how this would perform as a running shoe. After a few runs outside on gravel roads and inside on treadmills, I can confidently say these are the Best Running Shoes I had ever used! This shoe was made for running! The mesh upper and ventilation all through the shoe tongue helps tremendously when running in warm weather. Adding additional comfort to the bottom of the shoe is definitely noticeable having no pain in my legs after running multiple miles! Since I started running in these shoes, I have had a new Personal Record in miles for the new year! I am extremely impressed in not just the fit of the shoe, but the overall support with the shoe being super light! One thing that I really enjoyed about the inside of the shoe was the additional padding around the ankle and heel to give that extra cushion. I decided to go with my true size of size 10 and was happy I did. The upper mesh material does help give a little extra room in case you are looking for additional room in the width area. The only negative is there is no Gore- Tex or weatherized version at this time, but if these are made, I would be one of the first to purchase! Returned to running after a 40 year break. Six months in I decided to run a marathon on five days notice. I got these because they are supposed to reduce fatigue and make recovery faster. I ran sub- 4 at age 57 with six months of training and a five day taper. The next day I had no problems running six miles. Nineteen days later I ran a half in these and set a post- high school PB in the mile, 2 mile, 5K, 5 mile, 10K, 15K, 10 mile and half. In these shoes, I run like a different person.

I usually run on Brooks, still do, but the first time I tried Alpha fly3 on the treadmill in Paragon, I knew they were going home with me. I bought my 2nd pair in 3 weeks! I love it not because it makes me run faster( cuts off 20- 45 seconds/mile) but it really hugs your feet well. No break in period. Truly fits like lotion. I 'm thinking of 3rd pair! Hey if you are looking for comfort and performance out of your shoe. This shoe is one of the best cushion shoes next to the Nike signal d/ms/x. Especially on the treadmill it gave me extra cushion and spring with every step. I run about 3 miles a day on treadmill so it was a wonderful experience even out the box with no break in.

Love the arch support on these and the price point. Although they ’ re not the best looking shoe to wear, this shoe is definitely made to put in work. Minor slippage on my right foot as it ’s slightly smaller than my left foot. Toe cap is not your average Nike narrow one. It is a little wider( assuming it ’s for when your toes expand while running). They fit differently, but if I were to go. 5 smaller my big toe would definitely hit. I went true to size and I always fit into their narrow shoes( Nike).

If yours squeak, try some baby powder between the insole and sole. I think these have a glued down insole if remembering correctly, but i think i peeled them up in mine. Put baby power between the layers and try to get it to go between the sole from the upper and the foam of the cushioning/midsole where they are sewn together. Sometimes there are vent holes as well. If you get them really wet/dry and that gets washed out it will return some eventually but you can redo it. Ive had several different styles of squeaky shoes and this works. The squeak is between the upper sole and midsole and not the outer sole and the ground like most people think. That is why they squeak on any surface. Had these shoes for about a year and a half now and used and abused them. Feels pretty much as good or better than pegasus i had, although it is hard to ever get a direct comparison. Ive worked and walked a lot in them and usually feet feel as any other shoe Ive ever had. I coach and do a lot of outdoor work.
