I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

Our first diaper bag backpack just did not open wide enough for us to find what we were looking for, but this one makes it easy. [ First off, the open front flap makes accessing my gear at the crag so easy. The built in rope tarp is lightweight, incredibly sturdy and just the right size( i use a 70m rope). I like how breathable the straps and back are even though that is not the main thing that I enjoy about this hard structured, EVA- molded backpanel with HDPE framesheet allows me to carry just about any weight on my pack up any approach, steep or long without being bothered. There are other wonderful key features of this bag but hats off to you Osprey. You guys made an excellent climbing pack.

Awesome bag that is bomb proof and so easy to pack and unpack with closure. Allows for luxury items with short to medium approach and easy to carry a rope with the top cover. Just wish they had a helmet attachment like some packs so you could have rope on top and helmet on back to help with storage space.

[ I ’ ve had this new backpack for a little over a month now and I ’ m really enjoying it. From a work standpoint, there ’s a cushioned area for my laptop, iPad& other work files in the main pocket. In the secondary pocket that is sealed with Velcro, I carry all of my laptop cords and other miscellaneous supplies. I ’ m surprised how well the Velcro seals and nothing falls out. The side zipper allows me quick access to whatever I need. On top there is a small zipper pocket for my pens, pencils, and a calculator. There is also a water bottle holder on each side. But what I like most about this bag is the blaze orange interior, which helps me to see items that get buried in the bottom of the bag that would normally be difficult to see if it was lined in black. This is ingenious as I ’ ve never had a backpack with this coloration on the interior. I thought it would be annoying, but it is very helpful. I ’ m new to mystery ranch, but I am now hooked on their products! I have a new hunting backpack that I recently purchased, and it is outstanding! Black Diamond's Speed Packs provide everything I need and appreciate in a trad pack without any unnecessary fluff 'n' stuff added. I 'm a tall man with a short torso, and the smaller size sits nicely, even while wearing a harness and climbing multipitch routes. The pack also carries a rope nicely, with five compression straps keeping it in place. While I have n't used this pack for skiing, I can strongly recommend it for all- day climbing adventures.
