I work outside, and finding comfortable shorts that are n't too short is definitely tricky. I would suggest sizing down, based on the size chart I needed a 2X, but I tried on the XL in store and they have PLENTY of room. These are the most comfortable work boots I 've ever had. I 've been wearing Timberland Pro's for the last 8 years but decided it was time for a change because there is n't enough protection from corn formation. With these I do n't feel rubbing on the top of my feet. The cushioned wedge makes it easier to be on my feet for 8- 12 hour long days. The strings are light weight and do not dangle ridiculously long they 're perfect. The only thing I would love for them to add is a cushion barrier on the inside of the boot that wraps along the ankle. I buy work boots for my husband from Georgia Boot because they have great quality boots. The boots are comfortable so he can stand 8- 10 hours a day. The boots can handle different weather conditions and work environments. Georgia boot has the best work boots compared to others we purchased.

4th pair over the years, not quite as soft as I remember them. It seems the leather is different now. That said, a very comfortable boot.
