Interesting to see the various issues around clumped filling. I 've used this jacket around the globe in various environments so it's had plenty of washes. I 've never experienced the clumping issues. I wash it separately shake it out and hang to dry. When dry I give it another shake and off we go. No clumping, no gaps, no issues.

This jacket is really comfortable. The overall quality is great. The material is soft and it is fairly warm on a brisk day. The exterior pockets have a lot of space and can hold a decent amount of items. The inside zipper pocket is a good size as well. The outside material is softer than expected which is nice. Probably my favourite fleece. I own two. My first in dark olive is about 5 years old stood up well through outdoors work and chores got a bit bobbled but I gave it a shave not long ago and it looks as good as new. I wanted a timeless light jacket for hiking with my dogs that was n't a puffer. This one does not disappoint! I love the Indigo Blue as I gravitate towards cooler colors. I am usually between a small and a medium and got a small for a more fitted look.. I wear it over the grey Fjallraven Snow Cardigan. The hood is spacious enough for a toque and the overall fit is very flattering. For reference I am 5ft4, 140lbs, hourglass body type. Keep in mind this jacket does not have any stretch to it and the shoulders are a bit narrower. The sleeves are nice and long and the length sits just below my waist( I have a short torso). I have been reaching for it since I got it last month. Looking forward to Spring in Alberta to wear it more often!

As always, I ’ m impressed with the quality of these products. I am 5 ’ 2 ” and 112 pounds. I ordered the small size and the fit/cut is great. Both body and arm length spot on. Elasticized wrists help keep it in place and get the draft out. Enough room for underlayer and not bulky or puffy. material is n't noisy either. I have enough black in my wardrobe so I got the dark green/olive and it goes with everything. I have briefly worn this in the rain, but it was lightweight, comfortable and roomy enough to layer over my nano- puff jacket and another thermal layer under that without being too tight. Without the layers, it's comfortable. The hood provides good coverage without covering my eyes or mouth too much, but just enough. I like the color( turquoise), although my husband and I are now sort of matching..... I 'm happy with it.

A great jacket. Lots of pockets. Wind and water proof. Great quality. It is a jacket, not a shell so maybe too heavy for some backpackers. I initially purchased a similar jacket from Northface in 1992. It was no longer water proof or resistant. Returned it to TNF and they replaced it with this. Amazing warranty.

[ I came across this jacket when searching for a synthetic alternative to my down jacket for backpacking. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Glad I bought it during the big sale!

I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I have a number of OR gear/jackets/fleece. For reference I 'm 5'10 '' and weigh 215 average build so I typically wear an XL in OR and L in some other brands depending on fit. This jacket is very well made and everything fits to be expected except at the waist. It's very small compared to my other OR jackets which surprises me. It is warm but the Storm color is n't accurately represented in the pictures. It's a much lighter grey color in person.

A great feeling warm jacket! I have a 40 '' chest, 34 '' waist, 160 lbs and the medium fits great. Have worn in temps ranging from mid 30s to mid 40s and have been warm with just a cotton long sleeve under it. Love the stretch of the durable fabric and the matte green color. Also, this jacket does n't have the `` marshmallow look '' of other downs. Overall, this is the best down jacket I have owned and look forward to years of use.

Warm but also lightweight. Perfect! Love the inside pocket for my phone. I will say however, I am 5/8 and weigh 130 lbs. If you are big in the chest area, it will be snug. But I do n't have that problem so it's a perfect fit! Love this jacket!
