Wish Carhartt still offered the fleece stocking cap with a single layer. Not so toasty so I can work hard like shoveling snow without sweating like the double thick cap would cause. But for times that I am not exerting while out in the cold, this is a great hat. I own several, and just bought another. The lining will 99% block the wind from the top of your ears up. But since the lining stops there, When I rolled the sides down to cover my ears, it allowed wind( and cold) to hit my ears. This is my second of these hats, I wear them every time I run. They are very well built and very breathable. Extremely durable with a comfortable fit, good wicking material( sweat pushed to brim and doesn ’ t drip down your face, I am an extremely sweaty person), and very good sun coverage. Bill works well with most sunglasses( I have large blocky costa Del Mar ’s that fit well under the brim). Only issue I have with it is the tab in the back can be hard to get out of the way due to the difficulty of feeding it back into the hat.
