As a wildlife photographer I am in the hills a lot in all weather conditions so I can say I have beat this thing up even in the short time I have had it and expect it to keep up with the other jackets I have with the same material. For those days that I do n't need a insulated outer layer but also want something that wo n't get shredded by the underbrush this jacket is perfect- lots of pockets for random photo gear- extra batteries, SD cards- off the shelf this is n't as water/wind resistant as I would have hoped but a quick coat of extra wax did the job:).
