This is a nice piece of clothing. It fits well and is soft, and it's comfortable. I love that the sleeves have thumb holes and cover most of my hands. My only small giggle is I wish there was some way to secure the hood. In my size it's a bit over large and I find it sliding off my head backwards quite often. Even considering that it's still a five star purchase!

[ I have a couple of these hoodies and I love them for outdoor activity. The material is light enough to wear when it's hot, but just wind- blocking enough to be good for a slight chill. The sun protection is top notch with the thumb- loop sleeves and hood, and the pockets are perfect for whatever small items I need to take on the trail/run. The one downside is that due to the pockets these can be a bit harder to wear under something else.

I 've had over a dozen different sun hoodies since they became popular. For Me, this is the best one overall by a wide margin. While some may feel more 'woven', and others more 'plasticy', this one seems to be the best of both worlds providing comfort and protection. It is very soft to the skin, and the material sort of 'hangs' on you without feeling 'clingy'. It has plenty of stretch, but does n't feel like a set of drapes. So far the shirt seems to be retaining it's shape /size perfectly. Interesting enough, I wore it under a hoodie on a cool damp morning... casting really hard, I got too hot for the hoodie, but was reluctant to take it off. Finally I did due to sweating and was very surprised at how well this shirt regulated my body heat. The sweat evaporated quickly, and the shirt provided a nice light layer of protection from the cool damp air and light south wind. Once the sun came out the shirt really shined. Sleeves are plenty long, and the wrist/ hand coverings are a nice touch in case you forgot sun gloves. The hood is fitted nicely, proving excellent coverage while not being obtrusive. I chose the 'Neptune' color and I like that it is understated and does n't scream 'SUNSHIRT!!! If I had to nit- pick one thing, the closure button of the hoodie is a little challenging to snap closed with old worn- out fingers due the material being so soft and light.. but that's really minor. I highly recommend this shirt if You are on the fence, You wo n't be disappointed. I do n't usually do reviews much, but his one was definitely worth a follow up. Good job Simms

I wear one of these almost every day at work in the fall winter and spring. It is comfortable, warm, and breathable. It ’s light weight and very versatile. For me it fits true to size. The thumb loops are very helpful when layering with additional insulating layers and the zipper helps dump heat when you need to. It actually feels cooler than the REI Sahara hoodie by 2- 3C, even though they 're both the same weight. I think this shirt has better thermal conductivity. It also absorbs sweat faster which helps increase evaporation. You can check by dunking both shirts into a tub of water. I felt much more comfortable with this in 30- 40C temperatures with high humidity. I can feel the difference under a helmet. It's more stretchy, and greater horizontally compared to vertically so you have to be careful not to stretch it too far in order to keep it's UPF protection so I wear a loose fitting size. The fabric is n't as durable as the REI Sahara, as it has more pilling after a few months of wearing 2- 3 days a week. The wrists seem to be more stained. It has more facial coverage along the neck and side cheeks near the ear because it has a smaller opening for the face. It's a round opening so it sits fairly symmetrical compared to the REI Sahara which has an overlapping stitch at the neck that causes the hood to twist to one side. It does n't have a drawstring but since the opening is smaller, the wind does n't really blow it off, unlike the REI Sahara which needs it's drawstring to be cinched to resist the wind. The only benefit of the REI Sahara is possibly greater sun protection from the side rear angle due to how the hood drapes, but less protection from the side front angle; cheaper price; higher durability.

I wear the echo line of active wear when I 'm working out of fishing. The level of cool I get from wearing the ActiveIce appearal is unlike anything I 've tried before. It keeps me cool and I 'm not sweating as much as I do with the echo fabric. It does come with the trade off of being a bit heavier than the echo and not as breathable feeling since it's a thicker fabric. I will choose to wear the echo fabric when it's a cooler day doing a lot of activity and the ActiveIce fabric when it's really sunny and warm.

First impression is that it ’s very light, very warm for its weight, and breaths very well. If weight is important to you, this is a must get. It ’s essentially the jacket insulation without the jacket, so if you want wind protection just add a wind breaker. For some reason I was expecting it to have some stretch to it, but it doesn ’ t really, which is fine once you know to expect it. The outer material doesn ’ t feel soft, but the inner brushed material does. Overall a fan of the material, curious if they could add some stretch though, or maybe that would compromise the fiber insulating structure? Other request would be to do a version with no large branding, I don ’ t mind large branding on a jacket, but having it on a shirt or a base layer is less desirable. Would recommend.

The greatest base layer of all time, perfect for skiing, climbing, riding bikes. I ’ ve never had something that runs so cool on its own, but is surprisingly warm when paired with a minimal lightweight windbreaker. 🐐

[ Amazing. It's incredibly comfortable and it just makes sense. No bullsh* t zippers, hood and neck are super comfortable yet would fit fine under a helmet. I use it primarily for casual/ relaxed and that is how I would describe the fit. But it actually works fine for running or climbing as well. 160 lbs 5' 9 '' athletic build and the medium is one of the best fitting pieces of clothing I own. FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING I bought 3 so far lol. Warmth to weight ratio unparalleled. A little warmer than tnf futurefleece lt, which is almost as great but I prefer the more relaxed fit hood of the airmesh

[ I bought this as a mid layer, and occasional outer for moderate temps. Found myself wearing this all the time, as a mid layer with temps in the 20s, as an outer with temps around 50. Hard to see in pictures but the inner lining is super soft almost fleece, so provides similar warmth as a wool sweater( thinner of course), and the design of the outer material allows for breathability. Sizing fits perfectly. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ”, 195 with 43 ” chest. Typically wear a large and this was no different. Not snug or baggy, perfect. Some hoodies the collar chokes your neck, not this one. And did you see they have thumb holes!!
