This pack is the perfect trail companion! I 've gotten to take it out both XC skiing and on some winter hikes and it's the perfect size for an extra layer, snacks, first aid kit, and any other gear you might need on the trail. I love the magnet strip on the water bladder that nicely holds the bladder straw in space when not using it, and easy to drink out of while on the trail. The pockets are well thought out and easily accessible. I do wish the side water bottle pockets were a little larger to fit my nalgene, but definitely not a dealbreaker since it has the integrated bladder.

[ This thing is awesome! Super simple and light weight. Pretty water resistant as well. I use it as my go to and have been caught in some pretty good rain storms and it kept everything dry. The back pad does n't hold too much heat and the taller more narrow shape of the pack does n't feel like you have a bunch of stuff. I 've used it for hikes, weekend trips and as day to day bag. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a very good, very simple bag. It has a small outside pocket on the top and main compartment. I have used it for a few hikes and a few 20+ mile runs with a bladder inside( it does have a loop to keep the bladder upright). Good bag for the money.

I 've used this for mountain runs and sport climbing. It took me a while to discover the hose pass- through for the hydration bladder. The pack is mostly one giant space which has plusses and minuses. I wish it had another zippered pouch on the outside for snacks. I 've kept them in the outer stretch pockets which works well enough I guess.

I 've had this pack for 4+ years now. I take it on a couple backpacking trips a year on average and some day hikes where I 'm carrying more than normal. It's always fit everything I need. I 've carried a large tandem packraft and paddles with it( alpacka forager). I 've hiked 30 miles of the Kesugi Ridge Trail with it. The most notable use I think was for a caribou hunt I did a couple years ago on the Denali Highway. I packed out a cow caribou including all meat and 4 quarters bone in and the hide with my other knives and day pack type gear 5 miles down a mountain side and back to the parking lot via the trail. Roughly 100lbs. No buckles broke or came undone under tension, no rips, straps worked well to keep the load secure and close to my body. It only creaked and groaned a bit under that load, but otherwise performed well especially for not being a hunting pack. I would buy again!

I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

[ Just returned from the BWCA with my Aether 65. This is a nice pack that worked well for a 4 day self supported journey deep in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Our trip included 5 portages with 3 having quite a bit of undulation. The pack was weighed down with 44lbs of gear and was comfortable( as much as 44lbs of gear can be, definitely dropping some weight on the next trip). I liked it because I typically start trips like this fresh and strong and have my pack set up to that posture with quick( on the fly) adjustments being made as I ’ m flagging from hiking and paddling for hours. Nice pack that is well thought out with all the features you need and none that are useless. Both of my sons were wearing the same pack with zero complaints. I used this pack on a winter 7 miles, 3, 200' elevation hike breaking trail most of the way. I packed from the bottom up: belay parka in a compression sack, burly goretex shell jacket, 2 one liter nalgene bottles, extra gloves, med/ emergency kit( about 1L in size), 2, 500 calories of snacks, nanopuff jacket. Two headlamps and keys in the internal zip pocket, map and microspikes in the external zip pocket. Two 16oz waterbottles in each side pocket for 3L total, neither side waterbottle fell out while butt sliding down the trail. Samsung Galaxy S22 fit nicely in either chest pocket, chapstick in the elastic pockets. 25 '' snowshoes on the S/M pack were easy to put on a take off with a sling. I did n't use the zip pocket next to the waterbottle holder but it definitely seems like it could be useful. Used the double sternum strap( very comfortable!) to clip my gloves to the bottom and tuck them under the top so no snow fell in. I carried the pack around for 15 minutes with 30lbs of rice and beans in the back, it carries the weight well but you can feel items through the back if you do n't pack right. No soreness the day after hiking. I plan to take this out on longer day hikes- presidential range, great range where I might want extra gear but do n't want a 40+L pack. No signs of wear after a single hike getting snagged by trees, seems like it will be durable. Sizing: I typically wear my packs at 18 '' torso, the S/M mens is a perfect fit, I had about 1 '' extra waistband with a 28 '' waist. I bought the Deuter SpeedLite 28 womens but it was terribly tiny all over, this is everything I wanted that pack to be and better. Overall: Very well organized, lots of attachment points, lightweight, comfortable, and moves well with the wearer. Well worth the price.

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

[ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy- style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed- in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect- able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re- close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re- close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

Love how much variety this pack offers! From the trail to the airport, this pack really does it all. I took this pack on a trip to California where I had to pack light, but needed to bring my work laptop and knew I 'd be doing some hiking. It was the perfect pack for the job! It was great for travel and fit everything I needed for a plane ride and easily transitioned to a hike once I got to my destination. It really has the perfect amount of pockets- I love the front `` shove it '' pocket and the interior mesh pocket to keep thing organized. It also has a small pocket on the inside for its rain cover( which is included!) which came in handy while I was on my trip! My favorite feature of the pack is the included water bladder with magnetic connection points that keeps the hydration hose secured to the backpack strap. [ My Atmos AG 65 was a replacent for my 10 year old Atmos backpack. After 10 years the old pack started `` delaminating '', I guess it is called, when the coating inside starts to peel. I was happily surprised when Osprey replaced the pack under their all mighty guarantee. I really liked my old Atmos for the ventilation on the back and for the pockets. I am finding I like the Atmos AG even more. It fits me better and carries very well for me. It is not nearly as light as my Kakwa, but the convenience of the pockets, the airflow for my back, and just the general feel of the weighted pack will keep it relevant and useful for many years to come. I expect this pack will not spend much time hanging in the closet.

Superb quality everywhere and durable. Superb comfort. A few nip picking things I may do different is add an umbrella holder on the shoulder straps with molle webbing that I have seen done and is quite neat. Also the stow and go trek pole holders. Also I noticed the lid on top has 4 little molle like webbing straps and that is it. It would be much better if there was 2 more in the middle and all 4 were horizontal? and not diagonal? so you can attach a shock cord or straps to hold a blanket, rain coat or etc. As they are now you ca n't really do much with them especially with only 4 spaced so far apart and facing diagonally. But not a big deal and not worth a point deduction as this pack is exactly what I needed since I am almost 60 and it is so comfortable and adjustable and just hugs the body with nice air ventilation also. Once you load it right and adjust it accordingly is when you really notice this compared to a cheaper pack that just breaks you down and wets your clothes in sweat. I will never buy a cheap pack again as it is better for me to go to a premium one like this Osprey and spend a little extra for one that is made the way it should be to achieve the comfort, adjustability, and durability level needed to enjoy ones self when out and about other wise I would just be miserable and broke down with a bad back and knees. Trust me at my age its should be easy to understand.

I am an occasional backpacker and after 15 years of hiking my old Osprey Atmos had finally had enough.. the materials were starting to fall apart and after Osprey had repaired it once a couple years ago it was ready for replacement. Osprey replaced my old Atmos 65 with this Atmos LT 50 as part of the All Mighty Guarantee... the downsize and the simpler LT model were my choice and they honored it for me. Let me tell you this thing is WORLDS better than my 15 year old pack was even new! Stronger materials are used in areas that wore quickly on my old pack, the minimal design and smaller size is perfect for my gear that has lightened over the years and though this pack is slightly heavier than my old one it carries the weight MUCH better with the AG suspension, and feels lighter somehow. I am beyong thrilled with this newly designed Atmos as I tried the Exos and found it too minimal for me as I am not a weight weenie( although fully packed with food I am a smidge under 20lbs). This LT model is the perfect step up from the ultra light packs for folks like me that have lightened up over the years, but still want to be comfortable hauling a little extra. The one thing I will miss is the treking pole straps to quickly store them while scrambling up rocks or for road walks, but i made the decision to lose that and its a minimal sacrifice that I could potentially even fasion something for on my own so its not a big loss. I love this pack! Oh and the colors look better in person, not as pukey green, lol.

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. 6/22: had the Sirrus 24 for years. liked it. Compression- fratured lumbar region early spring. Feared hiking days over. stubborn but realistic: Had to carry pack light and high. Wore same clothes daily, hat, pricey poles. Tied jacket around waist, saved pack space for tent, food, water, rain gear, navigation, first aid, sleeping bag n cooking gear. There was other stuff inside bag, but I forget. Was able to carry light even with food. This pack solved my weight fears: helped me keep all under weight, not stressing back. Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

I used it for backcountry skiing the fit and how it proformed when skinning or skiing excellent. Its only top accessible, and a lack of easy acces pocket for avalanche equipment. Note I knew it was n't a dedicated ski pack wanted something larger then what was available. Was able to comfortably carry and ski with heavier loads. I enjoyed 50 days of skiing something like 35 of them were backcountry here in Alaska. Skiing adventures from Hatcher pass, with lots of local runs near Anchorage, and some trips to Turnagain pass.

[ I had a new Atmos 50L pack and started using it for winter hiking the NH 4K foot mts. It was too big for me as I had the wrong size and not great for winter hiking. The mutant works very well. I have hiked two mts with it so far, with full traction mounted to outside ~28lbs. Attaching snow shoes, crampons and micro spikes works well with all the external attachment straps. The shallow side pockets help hold my hiking poles when needed. The large top is easy to get into, a is the main compartment. I can easily put layers under the top to hold during a layer break. The pack is comfortable and handles very well with the 28lbs. I like the flat back, it is warmer than a mesh and doesn ’ t trap snow. My only complain is the shoulder straps are narrow and do not come down far, which limits what I can attach ti them. My snack bottle works but even in lowest loop is up high. And the loops are small. The front straps are a bit thin, but work fine for holding a crampon bag or even the snow shoes I was concerned that the lower padding on hips and waist would not be as comfortable as the atmos. But not so, I don ’ t even notice it, the the mutant is much easier to get into and out off.

My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

[ Just returned from the BWCA with my Aether 65. This is a nice pack that worked well for a 4 day self supported journey deep in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Our trip included 5 portages with 3 having quite a bit of undulation. The pack was weighed down with 44lbs of gear and was comfortable( as much as 44lbs of gear can be, definitely dropping some weight on the next trip). I liked it because I typically start trips like this fresh and strong and have my pack set up to that posture with quick( on the fly) adjustments being made as I ’ m flagging from hiking and paddling for hours. Nice pack that is well thought out with all the features you need and none that are useless. Both of my sons were wearing the same pack with zero complaints. [ For the average backpacker, the Aether Plus 60 is the epitome of backpacks. I think Osprey has really come up with a pack that does it all. This pack is not only a combination of the best features found in their other great packs, but an evolution of new innovative features, making this one hard to beat. My favorite features on the Aether Plus( also found on some other Osprey packs) are the removable lid that converts to a day pack, the Stow on the Go trekking pole holder system and the stretchable “ stuff pouch ” at the front of the pack. But specific to the Aether Plus, the complete access to the interior of the pack from the front and the additional two front vertical pockets make this pack extremely convenient. The straps on the side of the Aether Plus are contrasted in color compared to the nearby straps from the hood to make it easy for your eye to pick up the “ correct ” strap when securing everything. I don ’ t know why Osprey decided to switch the color scheme of the straps( light and dark) on this pack as compared to the Xenith, but the idea is the same; it makes it easy to discern what ’s what. These features married to the stable, yet comfortable and beautifully designed, adjustable nature of the suspension system, make it a pleasure to use on the trail. It even comes with its own rain cover in its own little bonus pouch! I love that pouch for its ability to also stow an ID wallet or next section ’s map, thin gloves, or other small items you may not use on a regular basis. There's lots of ways to strap an item to the outside of the pack if need be and the design of the shoulder straps make it easy to attach a shoulder pouch or a Go Pro type of camera, and of course, secure the hydration tube. The Axo Green color just looks like it belongs in the forest and the 60L size is perfect for most of my three season trips. There ’s no reason for me to look elsewhere. Certainly, if you need the room for colder temps, long excursions, or the need to pack a portion of someone else ’s gear, the Aether Plus has you covered with the 70, 85 and 100 L versions. Will this pack evolve? Of course. Just like everything. But you know how we ’ re always saying, “ they always discontinue the good stuff ”? I ’ m confident I won ’ t have to say that about my backpack, now that I have the Osprey Aether Plus 60.

So surprised there are no reviews on this exceptional pack. Bought this after doing a 32 mile trip using a new Patagonia Nine Trails 36 liter pack. My shoulders and hips were so sore I had to find something else that carried 32lbs better. On first 4 day trip I grew to appreciate the thought that went in to its design. The answer for my needs was the Aether Plus 60. After using something else first, ca n't stress enough how well this pack carries the same load. The beefy cushy shoulder straps and hip belt carry loads extremely well! Love how the top lid turns in to a great day pack and holds a 3 liter reservoir. The 2 extra pockets( Plus model) behind the shove- it pocket are perfect for an ultralight chair on one side and rain gear on the other so do n't have to take up room in main compartment or cram under the side compression straps. The large zipper pulls on all pockets are a great touch and much easier to open than anything else ever used. I absolutely love the easily detached DayLid! The 2 pockets on it keep you organized- can even turn the DayLid storage in to a 3rd pocket to cram more gear in if needed for more organization. The main compartment slider pull is a very clever design that lets user easily open it without any trouble. There are so many options for attaching bulky gear or putting stuff where you want that I still have n't fully explored yet after 1 trip. The lined hip belt pockets are well designed and provide ample room for headlamps, snacks on one side and use the other side as a storage compartment for a HydraPak Hydrant squeeze bulb. This pack is perfect for my needs and really do n't know how it could ever be any better or improved any further by Osprey. Yes it is expensive but for the quality you are getting, do n't know how one could do any better.

Well, overall, I am pretty happy with this pack. It does have some flaws. I took it on several flights, including a Hawaii dive trip, which went fantastic. It ’s also been on multiple flyfishing trips on the river and at least two white water rafting trips. In a few months, I ’ ve had it function extremely well. However, the only big drawback I see with this is the zipper. Holding the pack itself to pull the zipper open is challenging and there should be some kind of tab or loop to hold onto on either side of the zipper. Additionally, when closing the pack, if you hold too close to the zipper and pinch around the zipper in order to hold it for closing, it sometimes wants to disengage. Overall, these are workable problems, and hopefully version two will correct them. Still a great pack.

My girlfriend ordered the extended fit for me not because I 'm morbidly obese but because my shoulders are 3x the size of the normal person. Bought this pack for a short backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. I have lower back pain so I needed a pack that distributed the weight very well. My pack was about 30- 35lbs and I made it the entire trip without any pain or even soreness in my low back. It was quite incredible considering the many elevation changes- I 'm definitely impressed. I will say that toward the end on our hike out my shoulders began to cramp up so I had to do some adjusting to the straps but I think it's just I did n't have it set right. I ’ ve used this duffle bag more than any other bag for the past couple years. Whether just throwing random stuff in it to keep things in one spot or using it as a carry on. It holds a ton and has several internal pockets on the side and two zippered pockets on the underside to the top flap. I love the bright orange color…always know where my bag is. It ’s not water proof, but I ’ ve had some light rain on it and didn ’ t have anything get wet. The bottom material is very durable and easy to wipe off. If you were to check it, the shoulder straps/handles are easy to remove, but stay secured when they are on. The cinch straps keep it compact when it ’s not fully loaded. Last weekend I used it to camp and had 3 days of cloths, sleeping mat, sleeping bag and everything I wanted inside the tent in the bag. I ’ ve also used it on the back of my motorcycle and it was easy to strap down using the molle type loops on the sides.

My wife and I each have the Cargon 40L and we each brought ours on our honeymoon to Ireland, Italy, and Greece. The bags held up incredibly well during the 2 weeks traveling across Europe and they were very comfortable to carry in both the backpack and carry handle configuration. The bag has a ton of storage and the open compartment without smaller dividers was much more usable as it didn ’ t limit us in what our usable space was. We plan on buying more in a variety of larger sizes as well for camping, hiking, and ski trips. Can not recommend this bag enough! Another great product from Mammut.

I love this duffel bag. It ’s really high quality and durable, and it has plenty of room for all of your gear. I also like that it ’s so lightweight, as sometimes on longer trips I get dangerously close to my bag being over 50 lbs and having to pay the airline lots of extra money. The other duffels I considered weighed a lot more, and I was worried that would tip me over the 50 lb mark. This bag is super light yet still has a lot of pockets and good compression, and the backpack straps make it easy to haul through the airport. Highly recommend this bag.

I like this bag as a carryon because you can stuff it full since it is just an open sack. No wheels, dividers or other internal parts taking up space. I noticed a significant amount more of packable space versus my standard wheeled carry on.

To sum it up, deuter ’s Aircontact Ultra does well in all aspects of necessity when in the market for a lightweight functional backpack. It excels most confidently in weight and comfort, and has some minor room for improvement with some of its pockets and the durability of features. This pack is most suited for the efficient trekker who does not want to settle for comfort or functionality. I am stoked to continue using this pack and see how it holds up through the summer.

It carried the 40- 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. Two side pockets that fit larger sized water bottles( Nalgene 1L) The SM/Med fits my 5'10 medium sized frame well. Osprey has gained a lifelong customer
