I have a wide foot& found it difficult to find a shoe that fit well, had the features I wanted, and did n't look ugly. Although this shoe does not come in wide, I read a prior review saying it had a wide enough toe box to accommodate that width. I took a chance and bought a pair. I was delighted to find it does, in fact, accommodate a wide( D) width, and it fits perfectly- not oversized at the ankle. It makes walking much easier and more comfortable. The nonslip tread is especially helpful. The shoe is also quite attractive, a definite improvement over many other brands. I just ordered my second pair of the Rubatos to replace the ones I ordered a year ago. I walk about 1- 4 miles a day and have worn these on about 66% of those walks. They provide plenty of cushioning and support. I can wear these for long periods of time without my lower back and feet hurting. Suggestions to make this the perfect shoe: a little bit better ventilation, a little more width in the toe box and maybe add 1mm to the lugs. The lack of availability in colors and sizes makes me think these are or will be discontinued:>{ I wish Merrell would make more zero drop shoes and sandals.

I have a couple of pairs of Merrell Mixmaster shoes. I have mostly worn them out having had them so long and I have wanted something from Merrell that was equally light. The Long Sky 2 shoes fit the bill. I do n't think they are quite as light but I think they may be a bit more rugged in construction. It takes getting used to the nature of the slip in bootie style shoe but they do cradle your feet well and give very good support and best of all they are very light and that equates to all day comfort.

Love the roomy width of the shoe. Love the firm support of the sole( I do n't like especially gushy shoes, like New Balance tend to be). Love their light weight. And, I have found them to be quite sturdy. The Long Sky 2 has all the important features you want-- properly anatomically designed, sturdy and light weight-- and none of the gimmicks.

He has a similar version without the extra black textile on the side but they really stretched out. The black textile seems to help hold the shape of the shoe better than just suede. I ’ ve worn these Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots daily for the past 8 months as a residential electrician in Southern California. As someone who usually wears barefoot- style shoes( Vivobarefoot, Flux, Lems Primal, and Altra Lone Peaks), I was pleasantly surprised by how well these hold up in a work environment. Fit& Comfort: I wear a size 13( EU 47), and the fit is perfect. If you ’ re in between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, definitely go up a size. These boots have a bit more cushion and slight arch support compared to more minimal brands like Vivo, but in a construction setting, I actually appreciate the extra sole thickness. My feet feel supported without losing that barefoot connection — and best of all, they ’ re not fatigued at the end of a long day. Performance: Traction is solid with good grip, though the aggressive lugs can hold onto dirt and debris. It hasn ’ t been an issue for me in SoCal, but it ’s something to keep in mind in muddier regions. Waterproofing has held up well. Durability: After 8 months of use, the only real sign of wear is the toe box starting to separate slightly. Not a dealbreaker, but something I hope Merrell improves in future versions. Wishlist for Future Versions: • A non- waterproof high- top version would be amazing — same support, but more breathability for dry climates. • Stronger toe construction to improve long- term durability. Bottom Line: If you ’ re looking for a minimalist- inspired boot that can handle job sites, this is one of the best options out there. It strikes a rare balance between barefoot feel and real- world utility.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I have arthritis on the posterior( backside) of my right ankle. This arthritis makes it very painful for me to walk on a downhill slope because it puts more pressure on the posterior aspect of the ankle joint. I can walk uphill no problem. Shoes that have a half inch heel hurt me as well because they caused my heel to be lifted compared to my front foot. In essence it ’s causing me to put more pressure on the post to your side of my ankle joint. I was looking for shoes that had no extra heel lift yet still had good arch support and I tried several brands and then I came across these Meryll shoes which had no heel lift in the heel. I was able to walk quite comfortably with good art support. And the grip from the tread on the bottom of the shoe is amazing. My first pair lasted me about two years and I just ordered and received my second pair. I ’ m very pleased with them. My orthopedic surgeon tells me that I ’ ll soon have total ankle replacement surgery. Then I maybe can get back into regular shoes. But these Merrills are really comfortable. I may stay with them. I love them and if you have problems walking in shoes with a little bit of a heel these will really help

My Merrell moabs have been the best shoes I have ever owned. They last forever. I just get new inserts every year or so. Rain or snow even deep puddles and my feet stay dry. I am ordering my 3rd pair, I wore out my 2nd and glad that I can get another pair, they are light, they fit perfectly, I use a shoe horn to shoe in( a deer antler from a spike that I shot way back). Great narrow profile easy on trails and if I need to climb or walk on rocks or boulders great positive feeling. If and when they get wet they dry fairly quick. I am hoping they keep making this model, since this has been around for a few years now.

Got these in low top. These are great! Coming off a pair of Moab 2 lows for hiking I feel these are a definite upgrade in looks and comfort. I think Merrell hit the nail on the head with the styling, I actually am tempted just to wear these as a daily without hiking in them, I do n't want to get them dirty! They look fantastic with jeans. Also note that these leather ones are more comfortable than the Speed 2 Goretex version... I tried on that pair and the cut outs for the ankle were higher and rubbed my ankle. There is no rubbing on these, however they are slightly heavier than the Speed 2 goretex. I imagine because this uses leather.

After a horrible experience with the migrating foam in the footbed of a previous leather- upper Merrell, this was a gamble... but so far it's been great. Incredible cushioning, great fit. A few unexplainable hard spots on the uppers noticeable only on steep side- hills. Now on to the desert sand.

These are super comfortable and very lightweight for a mid hiking shoe. The outer is only slightly tougher than a normal running shoe, but waterproof. Of course the outsole is much grippier. I just bought these and have been wearing them for a day. They ’ re very comfy. A lot of the comments say it ’s hard to get the shoe on, so much so they have the shoe a low rating …I ’ m not even sure what that means. They ’ re not loose slip ons like crocs, they require you to like put in a little effort to get them on but I got them on without untying the original ties. The heel is sturdy enough that it didn ’ t collapse under my own heel when I slid it in, which is nice. The first like 10- 15 steps squeaked a little but it very quickly went away.

Bought these as a work shoe as I work in hvac and am anywhere from rooftops to crawl spaces, outdoors in the woods to city sidewalks. They are very comfortable and keep my feet dry in the rain and breathe enough so I don ’ t sweat like crazy in the hot attics. The sole has enough grip to keep me from slipping on wet banks. I feel like I have some extra spring in my step with the thick cushiony heel on these boots. My only complaint is the elastic cord for the lace eyelets. On the left boot the cord is cut too long inside the shoe and if my foot is pressed up against anything on the outside it hurts. Other than that I ’ m very pleased.

I bought these for a hiking trip as a novice, and wanted something I could also use for rainy city commutes. These boots are exactly what I was looking for- I hiked 20 miles of rocky, snowy mountain trails and my feet never hurt, the waterproofing is excellent and my feet were never wet hiking through snow or on rainy days in the city. One caution- these are fairly low, so your ankles might get a little wet when walking for a while in the rain, but it ’s worth the low profile style. I wear a 10 running shoe and a 9. 5 fit perfect. I will be coming back to Merrell for all my hiking needs in the future!
