I can ’ t really say anything negative about these shoes. I was struggling with my old pair with knee and hip pain as I ’ m very flat footed. I did the online shoe finder and was recommended these, so did my own research on them online and decided to go for it. I ’ ve done 6 runs in them now and definitely feel like I ’ ve made the right choice, I no longer have the knee or hip like I was having in my old trainers and they feel good underfoot. I sized up as recommended which I ’ m glad I did( now) and I will say that my first couple of runs they did rub and cause blisters close to the ball of my foot where I ’ m assuming the arch support ends, decided to stick with them anyway and they ’ ve been a dream and incredibly comfortable. I definitely recommend and will buy another pair when the time comes!

As a bigger guy, finding shoes that keep my feet comfortable all day has been challenging until I tried the Brooks Ghost 16. I ’ m not a runner, so I can ’ t speak to performance on the track, but for daily wear, walking, and just staying comfortable and stable on my feet, these shoes have been a game- changer. The cushioning is exactly what I needed: soft enough to relieve pressure and foot fatigue, but not so squishy that I feel off balance. I ’ ve had zero heel pain, no more sore arches, and they feel supportive enough to walk around for hours. What I especially appreciate is how stable they feel. Even with my weight, the Ghost 16 doesn ’ t collapse inward or wear unevenly like some other shoes I ’ ve tried. They fit true to size, and the upper has a nice balance of breathability and structure. I can ’ t speak to how they hold up under high- impact running, but for everyday use and long hours on your feet, I ’ d absolutely recommend these, especially if you ’ re a bigger guy looking for relief and all- day comfort.

Fantastic Shoes! Please do not stop making them. Please continue to offer the extra wide shoes in good colors. These are perfect in dark blue. So hard to find great extra wide shoes. These are it! Comfort is outstanding. Stability is great. Padding is just right. I appreciate the one piece rubber tread. I am fairly tough on shoes. A marathon a week give or take. One piece rubber tread always wears better than the current trend of contact patches. I burn through the edges and into the padding in just a few weeks with my running and walking style. The one piece allows the force of the step to transfer evenly without abrading and damaging the cushioning. This is the most comfortable of all the Glycerin series shoes I have had in the past. The cushioning is super, like walking on a sponge. But despite the softness I feel the stability is excellent, I never feel I am losing my balance. This review is from a senior citizen who uses them for long walks in the Florida sun and heat. this is a very stable shoe. It feels slightly narrow, but it really distributes the weight across your foot. I live in an area where there is snow on the ground a lot of the time and so I really appreciate the Gore- Tex finish on this shoe. I use it mainly for walking. I had an ACL reconstruction surgery nine months ago and I walk across mud and unstable ground in the forest near where I live when I wear the ghost 16 gtx I am very confident that I will not slip.

[ This is my second or third pair of Brooks shoes, and the quality is unmatched. They fit true to my other Brooks- I order a half size up from my standard shoe size, and they fit perfectly. This was my first pair of “ sock ”- style athletic shoes, and I liked the breathability of the mesh upper. It did run a little low on ankle support, compared to traditional athletic support but only if I ’ m being nit- picky. If like me you do these are the trainers for you for everyday running. I ’ m on my second pair now and after 600 miles plus barely a scuff on the heel. Some brands I ’ m lucky to get 300 miles on a pair of shoes before cutting into the foam. My running journey started March of 2024. 2 years before this mt doctor suggested I take my heart fort a brisk walk. The first year it was once a week and the second year twice a week. The third year they suggested 3 times a week and that ’s when I felt that I might be able to run. The 1st 2 weeks weren ’ t pretty as I ’ d run 100 ’ and walk a 100 ’ feet for 2 miles. Then I bought a pair of the Ghost 16 ’s and never looked back. I prefer to run at the colder temperatures between 20F and- 5F. Any of the shoes in the Brooks lineup will be a great shoe. Just ask a lot of questions to make sure you get the ones that are comfortable for you. Someday hopefully I ’ ll be able to get a pair of the Elite 4 shoes and take them out for a run. Pun intended. The Hyperion Max 2 are amazing shoes. I usually run in either Hyperions{ 1st generation and 2nd) or Adrenaline GTS 24, 2 pair) for recovery runs. I have an arsenal of Brooks shoes, 12 pairs to be exact. I enjoy everything about the Brooks shoes and won ’ t run in any other shoes.

I have been wearing Brooks shoes for about 20 years and have tried several different models. The Addictions Walkers were the best for my job, police officer. However, it took me a while to find the right model for everyday use, after work. I have hip and lower back issues. The Walkers were not good for long period wear. The Adrenalines, Glycerins, Ghosts, Beasts and Addiction GTS are all mostly for running and wore down my hips and back. When the Ghost Max SE came out, I tried them on and the difference was amazing. I walk with my wife on a track that, with the other shoes, I could only make it once around because of the hip and back pain. I now make it around three times with very little discomfort. I bought my current pair the end of January and intend to buy another before we go on vacation in Florida the end of August. I just broke in a pair of these Ghost 17 running shoes on the asphalt yesterday and though they 're listed as neutral, they 're more like a stability or support shoe. I do n't move as fast as I did in the previous versions but they are very cushiony and my feet feel very secure though not constricted. I anticipate the speed picking up after a few more runs. The outer sole is very durable and the overall look and design is an upgrade. These will be in my rotation of running shoes along with the Nike Peg 41, and the On Cloudsurfer Next. I highly recommend them for regular short to mid distance runners.

Back to what made the Ghosts the best trainers on the market! I had to return the Ghost 16s when they first launched because the upper caved in on my toes—disappointing to say the least. Thankfully, the design is back to a more structured toe box. The plush DNA cushioning, combined with everything that made the 15s great, makes this an ideal shoe for anyone needing reliable daily trainers. I can keep going in these with zero issues.

I am reviewing a 11E size for reference, most of my complaints issue are more size specific in my opinion. So my only concerns are the newer design in my size. The toe box has a slight curl by the inner big toe, I am worried that might be a wear point down road along with rear high heel. That said on to what I love about it. First it is light compared to Ghost 15 I left it was noticeable. Additionally the sole does better over the small bits of gravel I encountered on my normal street run. Additionally it has a light springback that is enjoyable endurance wise and executed without that weird collapsing sponge feel some shoes have with that type of sole. I am happy with the reflection for drivers on the Black& Gold i have, branding is tasteful, I also liked the reinforcement in toebox shifting from a closed decal like piece to a dense fabric portion. They breath good for a street shoe. Out of the box my high arch needed a bit to adjust the laces, it did not detract from the shoe. After two outings the shoe broke in pretty nicely and became more natural. I am overjoyed to use it. I use my own insert so spacing was not an issue, shoebox refined the control making toe led turns more direct not bad shifting movements versus the 15 had a slight shift comparatively. I cycled the regular insert back to my 15 's for their outdoor work lifecycle no apparent changes to report so far. In light rain and pebble/washed cement grip is confident. Direct exposure to full sun the shoe still breathed well. The new support at heel helps drive incline and decline without the abrasive hightop in side to side motions at the ankle.

I 've had the Ghost 17s for 4 weeks now and I 'm very impressed by them. They feel incredibly soft but supportive, and work well for my feet with orthotics. I 've been mainly walking and running in them but also played tennis in them and they felt supportive with the changes in direction there too.
