Trying to keep it simple and effective with putting line on a reel. First off, it doesn ’ t work with the barrel type spools of line that you can get with Mono. The bar isn ’ t long enough to clamp the spool down on the bar. The system is designed for the disc type spools and the clamps keep the spool from spinning too freely and the line from coming off the spool unintentionally. I like the line guide and the line cutter. Both help with the task. You need a solid surface to attach the spooler and a little bit of space to manage the rod and reel. There is a small learning curve but overall this spooler can help get the job done.

Honestly a tip- up is a tip- up, they are pretty standard, but this one has gradually become my standard, it has replaced all my other tip- ups. Its tall so you see the flag easier, the latching mechanism is great and even the way the flag stores is great. Its pricier than most other models but the few enhanced features make it worth it.

You ca n't go wrong with this trap. The drag system is very nice, the cork hook holders will keep things tidy when packing up in a hurry, and the height of this trap towers over the snow. I only ordered 3 but am planning on ordering 2 more today. When it comes to ice fishing, I do n't know why people would want to use traps like your grandfather used 60 years ago. We all spend a fortune on new rods and reels, why not get good stuff for ice fishing?
