[ These are n't boots that you can take out of the box and go for a backpacking hike, they will need broke in first. When I first put these boots on they felt great, I went for a 2 mile hike and my feet were hurting. It took me about 10 miles, 2 per day, to get to where they felt good, now I love them. These are my 4th pair of Keens, I have been wearing the Steel Toe Pittsburg for work and love them too. The wife was soo convinced that she bought a pair of low top Targhee Vent, she loves them also.

[ I have not hiked in these shoes yet, however I have worn them around the house. I am especially pleased with the wider size I was able to get. The boot is very flexible. I have noticed that Keen has changed how they make the sole. The bottom tracks are smooth and my old targhees have ridges on the bottom of the tracks. Time will tell if the boot will still grip the same on rocks.

This has been a great boot, my go to for wide feet. It is a very tough boot that works well for day hikes or overnights. It has great support and foot protection yet remains light and faily flexible. I have had no issues with the waterproofing either, works great. Highly recommend them.

I bought my first pair of Targhee II mid boots in 2012, and have bought at least 4 more pair over the years. These just fit my feet so well. When the Targhee III came out I tried them, but Keen had changed the last and they did n't agree with my feet. I was so thankful that Keen kept the II version. Although, color choices were no longer updated each year. When I saw the Leave no Trace collaboration color I had to have them. These are the most comfortable Targhee IIs I 've had. The cushion and arch support are great for my feet as I do n't need a high, hard arch. The boot collar is soft and molded to my ankle in short order. The tongue is padded, yet soft and pliable- not stiff and irritating. I 'm seriously thinking about ordering another pair!

So far I love these shoes. I wear them for work as a service plumber. The full rubber toe was a primary selling feature. I also have a wide foot and these shoes accommodate nicely. They are functionally waterproof- I wear low- profile `` walking shoes ''- not for serious stream crossing, but fine for tall wet crass ''. Only problem has been delamination and eventually leaking. Will see how the model for IV performs- just bought 3 pairs.

When I took them out of the box, I thought that they looked liked they were made of plastic. If they are made of leather the quality seemed very low. Most of the plastic quality made them very stiff. I tried walking around the house in them to see if they would soften up but the sides rubbed against my ankles. I didn ’ t think that would improve so I packed them up and returned them.

Very happy with these. Much easier to get on and off than my old original Keens with a new enclosure design, and they still cinch up fairly tight. I would normally get a 11 in a Newport, got 10. 5 in these sandals.
