I recently went on a camping trip to Big Pine, CA. I hiked up to First and Second Lake which was about an 11. 3 mile hike and roughly 6. 5 hours. The Tempest 9 was perfect! I was able to fit a 3L hydration pack, my snacks, a small first aid kit and other items for the hike. I was a little worried the Tempest 9 was going to be too small, but it did the job. When it came time to selecting a size, I measured at 17 '' '' so I could have gone with either the XS/S or the M/L, I went with the XS/S, however, wished I would have went with the M/L. The hipbelt ended up coming up to my bellybutton. Overall, I am really happy with this backpack!

I have always carried Gregory Packs and I thought they fit well. Until I tried the Tempest 20 L Extended Fit. I can not believe a pack can be so comfortable! I can fit everything I need for a day hike with room to spare. It did n't come with a water bladder so I use the bladder from my Gregory pack which works great. At the end of a recent hike, we sat down to eat and my husband asked me if I was going to take my pack off. I actually forgot I was wearing it! Bought this pack for a short backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. I have lower back pain so I needed a pack that distributed the weight very well. My pack was about 30- 35lbs and I made it the entire trip without any pain or even soreness in my low back. It was quite incredible considering the many elevation changes- I 'm definitely impressed. I will say that toward the end on our hike out my shoulders began to cramp up so I had to do some adjusting to the straps but I think it's just I did n't have it set right. I was looking for a medium size pack for an overnight summit trip and this fits the bill. I like the decent size water bottle pockets on the side, hydration bladder support( that doubles as laptop pocket if not used) and the hideable waist straps. I also like the hidden mesh pocket for jacket/wet things. I wish there ’s a soft bottle pockets on the shoulder strap. The only minor annoyance I found was the thin zipper pulls are hard to find. But I love everything else about the bag.

Great hiking back- pack! Decently waterproof, good size for a day hike allows you to bring lunch, big water bottle, jacket and an additional layer and has plenty of space left. Everything is adjustable and it creates a great fit that makes carrying heavy items( like rocks, I 'm a geologist) very easy. Only disadvantage is that it has only one additional pocket on top( apart from the mesh front pocket) so all small things like keys, bandaids, lib balm, sunglasses have to go all together.

Bought this pack for a short backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. I have lower back pain so I needed a pack that distributed the weight very well. My pack was about 30- 35lbs and I made it the entire trip without any pain or even soreness in my low back. It was quite incredible considering the many elevation changes- I 'm definitely impressed. I will say that toward the end on our hike out my shoulders began to cramp up so I had to do some adjusting to the straps but I think it's just I did n't have it set right. I really really love this pack and it's worth the investment!

I have two other Osprey packs and love the women- specific features. I bought this Sirrus for casual hiking and walking to town for groceries and other supplies. I got the right fit after watching a Youtube that showed that the hipbelt pad in front should be centered over the pelvic bone- not above it as I had incorrectly done. The torso adjustment `` ladder '' is a nice feature. I am 5' 7 '' and measured my torso at 15. 6 '', and found the second shortest adjustment to work the best at keeping the shoulder straps from riding up. This is really a comfortable and well fitting pack for me.

[ I bought another version of this backpack for myself earlier this summer and I loved it so much my girlfriend ended up getting this one. Great size for a smaller camping trip. Fits comfy and the pockets are located in great spots. Does n't feel cheap and has yet to cause any issues for me. Would recommend getting a front pouch for snacks to go along with this just cause reaching into the bag while walking is not that easy. Not too difficult to grab water bottles from side pockets which is better than most larger bags.

I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

Excellent pack. It's light enough that if I am hiking and it just using it for water and snacks it's perfect. But I can also pack it full of clothes and whatever I need for a trip. The main compartment is quite large, but it also has many extra pockets and zippers which are perfect for organizing.

I 've had this pack since 2006. It's been on many adventures with me, from backpacking in Canyonlands to training hikes in Teluride to travel through Taiwan. For several years, I used this bag for grocery shopping and going to the laundry mat, when it was often 70 pounds. It's so comfortable that even fully loaded, I can easily dance while wearing it. This pack has survived bear attacks, rain storms, deserts, baggage handlers, and having its capacity tested endlessly. After 15 years, I 've noticed the first sign of wear- a small tear in a seam. I 'm happy with the longevity of the product, and I 'm heartened that I can send it to Osprey for a professional- level repair for just the cost of one- way shipping. The All Mighty Guarantee is one reason I 'm so loyal to Osprey- they did a fantastic job repairing bear damage, and they quickly sent me a set of replacement buckles after I damaged one of mine. I love how comfortable the hip belt and harness are, partly thanks to the high degree of adjustability. If it every gets lost or stolen, I will happily buy the same bag.
