Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.

Bought this to carry on my back while riding my motorcycle. It's perfect and despite being smaller, I was able to carry everything I needed in it. Even when loaded down it does n't feel like I have anything on my back. The only downside is when I 'm riding is that it shifts, but I may be able to buy a strap to anchor it, so it does n't shift. Other than that, it is fantastic! Plus, the price point is great as well!

I was finally able to use it this weekend for a baseball tournament. It worked great! The elastic pocket on the strap was able to fit my phone with not much extra room. Nice snug fit though. There are many pockets and pouches. You could stuff lots and lots in this bag. Everything stayed dry. I was able to bring an extra large water bottle, sunglasses, phone, charger, battery pack, snacks and used the straps to carry an extra sweatshirt rolled up. We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I love how the laptop sleeve has a false bottom so when you place the laptop in the backpack it does n't accidentally knock the surface the backpack may be resting on. It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

I try to use all of my backpacks as dual purpose. 1st is hiking and second is work/office backpack. This pack did amazing at both. I enjoyed the deep front valuables pocket for AirPods, chap stick, keys, knife etc. the main compartment has a number of different pockets that holds a number of things for hiking as well as running to the office. My biggest complement is the water bottle pockets I like to carry two hydro flasks one for water and the other for coffee. This is the first pack I have had that I can use both pockets at the same time. The front cinch pocket was great for my rain coat and other layers. Fantastic pack would highly recommend.

Amazing Quality Bag. Looks sturdiness. I use daily for work. I pack a lot os stuff inside and it ’s heavy but suck a good versatile and handy bag. I have received many compliments about the bag and the look and workmanship. I love the way my 26 ounce Yeti bottles fit so snug in the stretchable strap area that totally secures the bottle from top to bottom. [ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The new Rook series packs 50 and 65 liter are well worth the price they retail for. If you are a well seasoned hiker or a beginner you ca n't go wrong with the Osprey Rook. This is NOT a packable backpack. By that I mean it is too big to be considered that. This is actually good, very good in fact. The quality of materials and construction make it a bit big. Also returning it to it's `` pack '' would be difficult and eventually probably would damage the pack. It looks great, well thought out and constructed. ` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

[ I just used this pack for a week of day hikes( 10 to 14 miles each day). I could not be happier with it. I have the small size, and it fits my 4'11 '' torso well. The hip belt sits properly, and the weight balances nicely. I was able to comfortably carry more weight than I expected, and I felt stable going up and down hills. It was great- I trekked along without having to think abut my pack. My favorite part of this pack is the shoulder straps. They are much softer and more flexible than other packs I tried, while still getting the job done. They adjust easily. They 're shaped nicely and do n't dig anywhere! The shoulder straps are often miserable for me with my small shoulders, and these are a dream. The cell phone pocket on the front of one strap is genuis, and I put my sunscreen in a corresponding pocket on the other shoulder strap. [ My Atmos AG 65 was a replacent for my 10 year old Atmos backpack. After 10 years the old pack started `` delaminating '', I guess it is called, when the coating inside starts to peel. I was happily surprised when Osprey replaced the pack under their all mighty guarantee. I really liked my old Atmos for the ventilation on the back and for the pockets. I am finding I like the Atmos AG even more. It fits me better and carries very well for me. It is not nearly as light as my Kakwa, but the convenience of the pockets, the airflow for my back, and just the general feel of the weighted pack will keep it relevant and useful for many years to come. I expect this pack will not spend much time hanging in the closet.

Purchased: Aug 2024 Uses: 15+ day hikes with scrambling in the eastern Sierra General: I purchased the Sportlite 30 to replace my aging, 11 year old, Deuter Speedlite 30. My preference is a balance of lightweight, volume, and comfort, and I had not seen anything comparable to my Speedlite until I saw the Osprey. Having used it for a few months, I feel I can give a run down of my impressions. Fit: I have a 16 ” torso and purchased the small which fits very well. It carries much better than my Speedlite as it stays in place on my back better and there is less play when scrambling. What I like: Stretch side panels keep items secure, as does the front stretch compression pocket. I am very pleased Osprey added 2 hip pockets and I like that one of them is a stretch mesh pocket. I ’ ve always had zippered pockets in the past, and the stretch mesh secures a snack and allows for an easier retrieval than fighting with a zipper. I wasn ’ t sure I was going to like the direct access hydration sleeve, but it has worked well. Although the shoulder straps seem thin, they are comfortable and I ’ ve had no issues with them. What could be better: The 2 stretch loops on the shoulder straps are too high. I have a carabiner attached to the lower loop and it sits on top of my shoulder and sticks out rather than hanging down. I ’ d really like to see these moved lower. The side stretch mess pockets are about an inch to high. It is very difficult to reach around to grab something, e. g., bottle of liquid fuel/electrolytes, and put it back. The front compression pocket is also a bit too high. I basically have to unclip the compression straps to grab something, e. g., gloves, hat, from the pocket. But, on the other hand, if the pocket were not as high, it might not hold as much. I 'm not sold yet on the trekking pole loops. They seem small cumbersome. When I 've had to store my poles, I stuff them in a side pocket and secure them with the top compression straps. Lastly, I prefer my key clip to be in the external pocket of the top lid. At the end of a hike, when I ’ m tired and just want to get in my car, with the clip in the external pocket, all I have to do is unzip+ unclip. The workflow to get to one ’s keys in the under the lid pocket design requires one to undo 2 compression straps( 2 clicks)+ flip the lid+ unzip the pocket+ unclip. That ’s 5 steps vs 2. Despite the above limitations, I really do like this pack, especially how it carries. It meets my requirements for being light, having a 30L volume, and being comfortable. I ’ m not sure of the durability yet.. the mesh panel on the back has already ripped.

This is a great pack for both car and airline travel. I pack smart with packing compressors packing cubes but I wouldn ’ t say I pack light and I had plenty of space. The waist belt allows me to comfortably carry this pack through the airport. The straps stow easily and it fits in the overhead bin.

[ This backpack is great for traveling, especially on a flight. The adjustable straps make it a perfect companion for your back if you ’ re like me and can never find a perfect fit in packs. The straps can be hidden with a zippable cover that is stowed away in a pocket at the bottom of the pack as well. My favorite part of this bag is that the hip belt is durable and comfortable so it makes carrying it easy.

[ I completed the Tour Du Mont Blanc with the pack, loaded out at 43LBS with Gregory's 3D hydro 2L reservoir. This pack is SO COMFORTABLE, well vented and has just the right access. The water bottle holder is great. No taking off the pack to get your 0. 5L Nalgene. Good amount of external storage. On a long hike like the TMB where you are on the trail for 6- 7 hours every day, comfort is king and this pack delivered. A couple minor complaints: No Rain Fly. For the price point, others provide it, but Gregory's standard rain fly fit perfect and did the job on the one day it was required. The zippers on the hipbelt pockets are a little frustrating to operate one- handed. I 'm a larger, sweaty guy that needed a trampoline style pack for good ventilation on hot summer days. This pack delivered. I just ca n't recommend it enough.

I received this pack 2 days before embarking on a 150 mile trek through the backcountry of Yellowstone NP. This pack more than provided for all of my needs. Extremely comfortable, and extremely durable. I really put this pack through the the ringer, adding to my adventure with miles through Grand Teton NP and Badlands NP. This pack accommodated all of the various needs. Will be once again strapping up with this pack this weekend for an Appalachian Trail section hike, and a thru hike of the Foothills Trail.

I got this pack about 3 weeks ago and I have tested it out several times. It is a very simple and easy- to- use pack with great features and comfort. It is easy to adjust the torso length and various straps, and all of the storage compartments work well. If you are looking for something to keep you comfortable and happy on the trail this is the way to go! Definitely for longer trips where you would need a BV 500 or more gear. In the last month, this pack has been used in the Sierra's, Humbolt- Toiyabe national forest in Nevada, and Pine Valley in Utah on 2+ night backpacking trips. I have never been disappointed by anything I have used from Gregory, and this bag has been a solid piece of gear. 10/10 would recommend!

I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I hiked across Spain for 500 miles over 35 days carrying this pack. I had NO issues and it was so comfortable. I carried about 13- 15 lbs with a water bladder. Only wish the water bladder nozzle had a cover as every time I set the pack down my nozzle touched the ground- good for my immune system! I just feel so grateful for my pack. One of your sales people on the phone recommended it after I tried several other models and sizes. Could n't be happier. One of the zippers broke before my trip but it was n't key.
