The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I wanted to share my positive experience with these hiking boots. I recently wore them on a Boy Scout summer camp trip to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina, and I was particularly impressed with their waterproof capabilities. I accidentally slipped into a shallow part of the river, and my feet remained completely dry. These boots were comfortable right out of the box, requiring minimal, if any, break- in time. I walked nearly 20 miles over the week, and my feet felt great throughout. I purchased them on sale, likely due to the color, which does tend to show dirt more easily. However, with a soft toothbrush and soap, they cleaned up almost as good as new. I was also surprised by the durability of the tread, as it showed almost no wear, despite other reviews indicating significant wear. Overall, I highly recommend these hiking boots.

I purchased these because I was looking for a comfy, still warm, but light boot to travel to South Africa with. I went in June so it ’s their approaching winter. As soon as I opened the box I loved the design and especially the air pockets. The bottom shoe design has pretty good grip. On various surfaces. Including some pretty epic rocks and boulders on Table Top Mountain. They have a wide front design to mimic your natural toe spacing, so there not bunched up. Which made for a person like me with Flinestone flat feet even more able to walk for hours and climb. Honestly it felt more like a barefoot sneaker which was perfect for me. I did not test the shoes on a rigid and rough climbing ability, but mediocre climbing they did great. Also had no issue with water getting inside, except the top part due to me not having them laced to the top. Shoe was easy to clean as well. Used a towel to wipe off. I also loved the fact I didn ’ t need to break them in by wearing them for a few days on and off before the trip. Like I said right out the box adventure ready!. Overall, I ’ m extremely happy with my purchase.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! I 've had these Leikis for a month now and still love them. I wanted something for urban dog walks that would keep my feet dry in rain and puddles but with enough traction to handle light trails. Perfect for shoulder- season weather when it's wet but not yet cold enough for heavier boots. They 're lightweight and cushy. At the store, I compared these to the Versacore. The Leiki is more snug around the heel and arch, but the toe box is still roomy. The Leiki toe box also has more structure and kept its shape, while the Versacore would crease and press against the top of my toes with each step which I found annoying. I liked the lower heel height of the Versacore, but ended up going with the cushier Leiki which seemed to also have more structure for ankle stability.

I have only tried them in this cold winter season in Western NY, so i ca n't speak to their breathability, or fit with thinner socks, in the milder parts of the year. Purchased for Half Dome hike in September. I wore them for the first time this June. Did short steep 6 mile hike( Table Rock in SC). They were comfortable straight out of the box. No break in period. I stepped in a coulple of puddles and my feet stayed dry. There were wet flat rocks all along my hike and throughout the whole hike i may have slipped 2x, while I saw others slipping constantly. The toe box is very roomy, and ankles felt supported. My feet had no aches after. I 'd highly recommend.

I hiked a 1. 0+ mile trail in the White River National Forest in the Elk Mountains with these shoes on. They can handle any terrain! I hiked through rough dirt, rocks, and even snow.
