I recently competed in the Back to Bataan Memorial half marathon wearing these shoes. Ten days earlier I had gone on a 10 mile walk wearing my waterproof Merrill Moabs, which was a mistake and I should have known better. I developed a large blister due to the heat, which I medicated prior to the BTM event. Worried about what shoe to wear, I purchased a pair of the Speed Strike 2, and had exactly 3 miles on them when I entered the race. It was the smartest decision I made. They were light and handled the dirt and sand perfectly, and I could n't even tell I had an issue with the blister. My feet got a little dirty, but I never felt over- heated. They were great right out of the box.

perfect lightweight hiking shoe for the outdoors. I took these to Alaska on vacation and put them to use. Hiked trails, mountains, roads, rivers, explored tidepools you name it. all around a great shoe. I would recommend pairing these with a good insole if you plan to use them for long periods of time as the bottom of the sole( outside the shoe) is very rigid and durable, but at times the stiffness and hardness can be felt on the bottom of your foot.

Been trying everything from trail runners to hiking boots, and always have knee pain due to meniscus surgery and metatarsal pain especially on pavement or downhill. So far I 've only hiked about 10 miles in these, but it's the first 10 miles without pain in years! Fit wise, I have low volume, long arch, c width feet with all the width at the toes. I sized my normal 11. 5D and while an 11 would have fit, the 11. 5 felt better. No issues with foot slip, no hot spots. Shoes are squishy, but return energy such that they do n't feel soft. Water resistant enough to splash through some light streams, and did really well in sandy conditions. I wear a 10 in most brands( my go to running shoe brand in Brooks for reference), and these fit great with hiking socks. I ordered the Merrell for the first time in years. I usually need a wide shoe but occasionally can get by with ordering a 1/2 size up in a regular width. The trouble is knowing whether I was going to be an 8. 5 or a 9 in the Merrell shoe. This 9 Merrell still fits a bit too snug for me. I also got the same pair in black in the 9 Wide and it turns out the Wide shoe will become my everyday shoe and this one will be pulled out when I need a lighter color. Very comfortable once you find the right size for yourself.

So far these have been great in the cold, snowy winter. They seem to be waterproof as advertised and are relatively comfortable. They work well for shoveling and are comfortable enough to wear to quick trips to stores, etc. I would n't want to wear them all day long. I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I was looking for a supportive sole with low heel drop as well as a rounded toe box. My second toe is a bit long, so the toe box shape is perfect. And my foot is a bit narrow, especially in the heel region. The Sirens offer a good fit profile for me. No slop in the shoe but no pinching either. These are very well- made. The Vibram sole is sure to last a long time given their hiking boot pedigree.

I have problem feet and have for years. Basically I ’ m flat footed and have bunions on both feet. Shoes with too high of an arch built in cut into my foot and throw my foot off to the opposite side of the shoe. These have just enough of an arch to give me support and also are just wide enough to float over my bunions, never irritating them. I have all colors of these.

[ I bought these shoes for an event coming up in June that will require me to be on my feet for at least 8 hours. At 71 years old I really need them to preform well. As a long time Columbia customer I 'm sure that I wo n't be disappointed. I have n't put them through a full test run but the time that I have worn them I have found them to have great comfort.

Over the course of 11 days& 3000 miles, we visited Arches, Canyon Lands, Dead Horse Point, Zion, Sequoia, King's Canyon, Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. The first time I tried on the Danner Trail 2650 4 ” boot, I knew this was the boot for me. Fit, height, weight, durability were perfect. No break- in needed. Only problem was availability. Apparently every other outdoor adventurer has the same opinion, because all stores were either out or low on inventory…. except Dick ’s. Not only did Dick ’s have my size in the color I wanted, they had TWO pair. Without the slightest feeling of greediness, I bought them both.
