Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl; dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear

OK I have tried A LOT of different pants for outdoor climbing... these are hands down my# 1 favorites for warm weather. They are VERY stretchy and somehow quite durable- no tears and minimal piling after TONS of abrasive granite, limestone and tuff over the last year, and I 'm back ordering in another color. I love the high waist, the side pockets and that I can move so freely, including very high steps:) They are flattering, comfy and stay cool. I would size down if between sizes as the fit is loose. I would love to see some additional fun colors- teal, green etc.

Fabric is a little thin, but that's great for the warm, humid south. Biggest perk is that they work great on an active, but curvy figure. I ca n't do some of the other styles that are cut slim in the butt/thigh/hip area, but these look great and are super comfy.( For ref b/c it helps me, I 'm 5' 4 '', curvy, and wear medium Dynama products). I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. Rain and wet brush are expected if you are outside much of the year here in the PNW, so you need some good rain pants.

My issue is n't with the pants which are great, BUT with the sizing chart- I am 6' 3 '' and 36 '' waist and a large size works for me but I have an 34 '' inseam and the chart recommendation is to get a tall size however I think regular would have been much better. The pant legs bunch up at the bottom when I have mid waterproof hiking shoes on. The OR pro deal is great but unfortunately they do n't allow exchanges or returns. I would liked to have swapped this pair for a large regular.

The “ Arche Rock Pants ”, according to a very helpful person in Consumer Service, are the closest match. I like the pants but I ’ d prefer a light soft lining which the Holly pants have and a softer outside material which probably is less water resistant. The Arche Rock pants have a thin material with no lining and they rustle when I walk. Maybe some of the stiffness will decrease over time. I purchased this used a few years ago and it has become a staple for hiking, camping, travel, and festivals. After the first year I cut the drawstring and tied it in a knot, much better and more practical. The light blue color stains easy. Sometimes this shirt stinks to high heaven after short use, other times I can wear it for days without stank. Washes easy and dries quickly. UPF continues to work after many years of regular use and washing, it provides protection from the sun and mild wind. It's so soft against bare skin and comfortable to sleep in. I use as a base layer, except when I use to layer over tank top when it's hot, or wool hoodie when it's cold. The pocket and zipper is great. No complaints.

I love it! I am really specific about sun shirts because I live and work on boats and wear a sun shirt most days. Full disclosure: I have tried the Crater Lake and Sunshadow before this and really did not like them. The Crater Lake is 1) kind of soft and does n't breath as well as this one and 2) had sloppy sewing so the sleeve hem unravelled after a couple months of wear. The Sunshadow was low stretch and super restricting to wear and the fabric stained really easily. This* Sunblocker* is amazing. The fabric is super quick drying but not scratchy, the sewing is really neat, and the fabric is stretchy and not restrictive. I sized up from S to M and am glad I did. I personally love the crop. Absolutely killer jacket. Bought it to use for teaching a backpacking class in the late fall in high mountains of Idaho where it can get pretty cold pretty quick. Used it in- 10f weather with a baselayer underneath and shell on top and stayed toasty the whole time. Provides an honestly impressive amount of wind resistance even on the seams. Maybe you are starting activities early in the morning when it's cold but will be out as it gets hot and want to remove the legs of your pants to have shorts instead. Or perhaps you are hiking and going up a mountain and know it will get much colder as you proceed, and will want to change from shorts to pants. These are comfy for any such activities. My only complaint is that I think these run a bit small. I wear a medium in most pants and shorts( including shorts from Marmot), but these are pretty tight on my curvier butt and legs.

Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather- the only comparable pants I ’ ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot( 90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it ’ ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!
