This is my first Fjällräven coat and subject to a number of drawbacks, I have to say it ’s a really nice jacket. A bit heavy( 2. 75 lbs) but still less than comparable coats by other manufacturers and still light enough and non- bulky enough to hike in.. The workmanship is superb and the coat looks great, fits almost perfectly( a bit baggy in the torso, easily rectified by layering), and is fairly warm with 15 oz of 700 fill power down( M). The coat ’s rugged fabric feels like it should be waterproof but it ’s only water resistant. The hood fits very snugly except that there ’s an opening at the neck and collar which lets cold air in. However, cinching the hood draw strings tight makes for almost an airtight sealed hood around your head, leaving only a small portion of your face exposed, a very nice design for sure. A neck gaiter would also address this issue. The pockets are adequate, nothing special. Some cons: the snap buttons that lock the zipper flap in place, tighten the cuffs very snugly around your wrists, and hold the pocket flaps down, can be hard to operate; the zipper, although substantially- sized, is fairly hard to engage; the retro- style hem and hood cinch strings dangling down are not particularly attractive( although the hood strings can be hidden inside the collar). The coat ’s 15 oz of down is substantial but since it ’s only 700 fp, there ’s a limit to how much cold( absent layering) this coat will protect against. However, on balance, this is a meticulously- crafted jacket with a cool retro look that should last a long time. Any coat the heavier predecessor of which was conceived in a snow cave bivy in bitterly cold Northern Sweden in the early 1970s has got to be a great coat! Recommended for sure.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

I use this as an everyday jacket for plain clothes LE work in PA. It is insanely warm for how light weight it is. Water repellency and wind resistance is excellent. Excellent balance between weight and warmth. Only downfall is the length makes it difficult to get to a sidearm when zipped up.

I bought is jacket to replace my old Gore- Tex Foray that started to delaminate after 7 years of use. Lets see how well this AscentShell Dry hold up over the years. So far this is a great 3- in- 1 jacket but I 'm really disappointed that it lacks the TorsoFlo Venting all the other Foray versions have. TorsoFlo Venting, or at least some basic armpit vents, really makes a difference when you need to vent some heat build up or want to use the shell as a rain jacket year round. I like that it comes as a 3- in- 1. This is easier to put on and take off than the Foray and Shadow combo this jacket is replacing. Being able to combine the shell and insulation layer when it gets cold is much more convenient than dealing with 2 separate jackets. I like that it is longer than the other Foray versions The longer Parka style provides better rain and snow protection than the shorter Jacket style. The over all look and color make this great to wear in any setting like work, camping, shopping, or anywhere else. I really like the Ranger Green color over the Hops Green of my Foray that this is replacing. I hope they make a version 2 with TorsoFlo Venting and a stuff sack for the insulation layer.

happy with this jacket. i used at mt Bachelor for four days. it was cold week but i never got cold, in fact i had to open vents. i 'm 6' 1 '' and its very comfortable fit. hood its true helmet compatible. main zipper sometimes was stubborn but manageable. i would improve the top of inside part of zipper where Gore- Tex material is touching your face/ mouth when hood is over the helmet by putting softer cloth material, maybe even this piece could be removable for often cleaning. overall good jacket.

[ Usually I buy large jackets, and it's a little baggy which I like, but this one felt like it was an Extra Large. The length, shoulder length, and arm length were perfect, but the middle was super loose. I love the quality and the pockets, but I definitely need to return it for a medium. Unfortunately the medium blacks ran out so I 'll have to buy the green, but it's a solid jacket and it kept me warm when it was 26 F( New York) when I tested it out.( For reference I 'm 6' 3, 195 lbs)

[ I spend all my weekends in hockey rinks with two kids in hockey and this thing keeps me toasty with just a shirt underneath. It looks great with the fur removed, and the zipper is not that much of an issue it just zips up on the other side from usual, otherwise it works great. [ This is the warmest winter coat I have ever owned, much warmer than other down coats from major brands. I can be outside for 1. 5 hours with wind chills near 0 F and am still warm. The hood covers the face well and keeps most of the wind off my face. The only slight downside is that it weighs more than some other jackets, but that's a small tradeoff for staying warm. It is extremely well made and the outside fabric is very substantial.

I live in southeastern Massachusetts, and it's been unusually cold this winter. I researched different brands of insulated parka coats for men and came to the conclusion the North Face Nuptse Parka is supreme. I love how immediately effective it is in blocking all of the frigid cold even with less layering underneath. I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

This pack- down hoodie meets all the requirements. Firstly, the craftsmanship is impeccable. I am 5 ’ 6 ” athletic- built and wear a large size, and I can confirm that it is true to size. I appreciate its packability and versatility, as it can be worn with a base layer or a shell on top, enabling it to withstand temperatures as low as the single digits. I ordered the flame orange/uni blue color, which is visually appealing and would be a worthwhile purchase before it sells out. Upon receiving the hoodie, I applied Nikwax Down Wash and Down Proof to achieve a DWR finish. I have attached pictures for your reference.

[ This is my third fjallraven jacket cuz they 're just that good. I 'd say my favorite jacket is actually the Latt hooded puffer just because of the versatility( you can wash it easily!) And it's a bit of a lower profile. But the pack down jacket is phenomenal as well for when I 'm less active. My only complaint is the yellow drawstrings for the hood contrasted against the white stops that keep them in place. The yellow looks great with all the fabrics, but with the white stopper thingies, they look like sunny side eggs. Sorry if you ca n't now unsee it Buy this is you want something super soft and warm, especially with a wool sweater underneath it, but buy the Latt if you want something that can get wet and it typically a better choice if you 're being active. Just know that the Latt is a little thinner in the arms and more fitted PS if you 're between this and the Cotopaxi, this is definitely a heavier jacket and I have yet to lose a single feather which is n't the case with the colorful llama

For those days that I do n't need a insulated outer layer but also want something that wo n't get shredded by the underbrush this jacket is perfect- lots of pockets for random photo gear- extra batteries, SD cards- off the shelf this is n't as water/wind resistant as I would have hoped but a quick coat of extra wax did the job:).

[ I purchased this jacket for wet and cool weather in Stockholm and Copenhagen. I even did a full waxing before I left which was super easy to do. Check out a video to do it correctly. Fortunately the weather was warm and dry so I did not get a proper chance to check out the jacket for its main purpose. But fall in NY is coming and I plan to put it through its paces. And I did wear the jacket on the flight overseas and it was great to have. I love all of the pockets and compartments this jacket has. I ca n't rate the performance until my first walk in the rain.

[ I have this jacket for two weeks now and found it much more breathable and comfortable than the goretex jacket I wore for the last 4 years, also I love the chest pocket that you can use as vent, since the inside of these is made with mesh. I wear the jacket everyday and it ’s perfect with a( fleece jacket underneath) for the- 10 Celsius temperature we have at this time of year in Quebec.

I can often get by without a day pack because I can carry so much stuff( especially with a pair of Fjallraven pants and all their pockets.)

[ Love the color and pocket lay out. All your mountain carriers will fit in this jacket without knowing they are there. The hyrdostash is what sold me on this style and it ’s amazing. The jacket is a little big but I think that was my doing. I didn ’ t measure but usually get an xl as I like my clothes room to move in. I went with the xl. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 and 200lbs. Very warm as well. My old jacket is have to undo the thumb hooks every time I went to bind my boots in. This jacket I ’ ll have no problem.

The quality of these ski pants are pretty good. Well made and so far seem pretty durable. Bought these for a Colorado ski trip in January and put many miles on these pants in 4 days straight of skiing. For the price you can ’ t beat them. Only problem I had was the sizing. The waistband is adjustable to a point but the overall sizes available weren ’ t fitting right. Either a little too loose or a little too tight. We went with a little too loose for better flexibility in movements. I would definitely buy these again.

I needed a fully waterproof jacket that was lightweight and gave lots of coverage for long dog walks. This is a good one which goes to mid thigh on me( 5' 2 '') with the rounded swoop in the back that looks a bit stylish. The hood is adjustable so it stays put and the collar gives lots of coverage as do the longer sleeves which can cover my hands or adjust with velcro at the wrist and the zippers are waterproof. The pockets are nice and deep with waterproof zippers also. I 'd give it a 5/5 if there were more than 2 external pockets
