I 'm 5' 8 and wear a large in most brands. I bought these in large and they fit great. I could probably wear a medium for a shorter, less baggy fit but I like that they are a bit baggy and longer. I wore these on a long day of walking all day in 95+ degree weather and they were so comfortable! I loved that I could unzip them a bit at the bottom of leg for airflow. They are so lightweight and soft. They 're great for travel too, worked well for a long day at the airport. Be aware that you will make some noise in these, that swish swish sound. The “ Arche Rock Pants ”, according to a very helpful person in Consumer Service, are the closest match. I like the pants but I ’ d prefer a light soft lining which the Holly pants have and a softer outside material which probably is less water resistant. The Arche Rock pants have a thin material with no lining and they rustle when I walk. Maybe some of the stiffness will decrease over time. I ’ ve been wearing these pants for both work and play for the last 3 years. Phenomenal in almost every way. Hard wearing, durable, and stylish. I do wish they were a bit thicker( like this version from years ago), but they are thick enough for construction work. They happen to be just right for backpacking in the Winds of Wyoming- warm days, cold nights. As to the comments from others about being too tight, order a larger size… Pockets are adequate for what I put in them but they are not giant cargo pockets. One of the best features is the strategic stretch material. Pants are never binding and always comfortable. Thank you for making an amazing product!

No offense, but size up. I ’ m specifically speaking to my thiqq boys that make noise in the gym. We love leg day, we do it because it allows us to hike for longer. We do it for the glutes. Trust me when I say it ’s not you it ’s them. Size up and thank me later. Aside from the sizing I love these and I personally think they are a great investment if you want to take your hiking attire to the next level. Ventilation isn ’ t the cure for everything and everyone sweats differently. The ventilation here definitely cured my souther sweat factory. I used these on a hike and my back was getting sweaty so on way back I ventilated and holy cow what a difference. You sacrifice a pocket and some thigh space by having the zipper to ventilate but this thiqq boy doesn ’ t like to chafe and am I happy I found these. I still give these a 5 star regardless of the size up. I do not like to have a sweaty bottom or back and this did exactly what I needed. Take the time and invest in gear that will last longer, haste makes chafe.

Initial observations. These pants are true to size. They fit great with a belt. I was worried about the boot hook and vent zipper. The boot hook is tucked away so that it is protected from accidently catching. The zipper pulls on the vents tucks away when open or closed.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. I do already have some other items of Fjallraven gear. These are now my ‘ go to trousers ’ when the weather is warmer here in England. I purchased these on a whim and have thrown out my other pants similar to these. The cut is nice and has a slight taper in the leg giving it a modern look. The material stretches and I have not noticed any wear after several washes. I am usually tough on clothing and these show no sign of abuse. The transit pants are a step- up in fashion compared to the standard Ferrosi pants. Granted I 'm not a fashion master as my wife reminds me but these are versatile enough to wear climbing or to work. They do n't have the zipper thigh pocket but as I mentioned this gives them a slightly more formal look and fit. Obviously it goes without saying that they are comfortable, stretchy and lightweight like the entire Ferrosi line. Sometimes the Ferrosi line is known to pill but I have n't noticed any yet after a couple of months wear.

These are the perfect pants. I 've worn mine daily for more than a year and they are still in good shape. Just bought another pair. They are deceptively light in weight, but durable. I have not had any problems with the buttons or zipper. The knife pocket works perfectly with my SAK on a tether. The back pocket flaps are good for keeping wallet secure. Please, please do n't `` improve '' the design!!!

Please never stop making these pants. I own 4 pair and they 're the only pants I wear and I will wear them forever so long as you keep making them. My only point of feedback is to use better quality buttons. I have broken 3 buttons( in various places; front button, inside button at the front, back pocket button). I just sewed a new button on my pants today. Still, these pants get 5 stars. The fit is just perfect. And they 're soooooo comfortable. These can be dressed up or down. I wear them with Red Wing boots and a flannel and sometimes with a sportcoat and Alden's. These pants just rock.

Great pants, do what they claim too nothing more nothing less. I wear them for hunting, and have been for the last two years in all types of weather and climate. They still look the same as the day i got them. Knife pocket works well didnt think id use it but i do almost every hunt. The fabric is by no means made for heavy brush but holds up very well even with thorns while going through thick bush/brush. If your looking for a great well made sturdy pant that you can hunt in and not worry about them getting torn then look no further. Finish off with a mild temperature iron to remove the folds and they have that ‘ brand new ’ appearance. I bought these trousers more than 2 years ago. Got pregnant in the middle and only did I start wearing them since a year go. I am so impressed by how well they perform. I 've worn them in hikes, climbing, just for regular day wearing and at home. They fit me really good, so it's easy to wear them for different occasions and styles. The buckwheat color is beautiful and a nice change from typical black. They have a stretch waistband and stretch panels on the sides that helped as I was returning back from portpartum abdomen size. The knee precut space is roomie enough for hiking, but for climbing they felt a little tight, so I would n't recommend. I absolutely love the fabric for southern Spain weather, in summer they feel breathable and light, I just rolled the bottom of the legs, and in spring and autumn they feel perfect. In winter they also felt ok on milder weather days. They have a somewhat waterpellent treatment that also serves as dirt repellent that make them ideal if you work in dirty environments, the stain dries and you can brush it off. The pockets are so convenient I love using them at home to carry my phone and other essentials around comfortably. An overall great pair of trousers. Have n't tried the improved fit, but if this pair ever dies I will be repurchasing.

I usually wear a 34 US, but they were a bit snug so I went up to a size 36 US and immediately loved them. These trousers were the reason for me to fall in love with the Fjällräven brand. I 've used them extensively while camping, tenting, hiking and- yes- winter mountaineering. I absolutely love the design, materials and functionality. Those were my first pair of hiking pants with pre- bent knees and I felt the difference in comfort and freedom of movement. In hot summer days, they might feel a bit heavy, so the ventilations are essential to keep you cool. I can appreciate the front pockets as well, as they have enough depth and are easy to reach on the go. My pair is ageing quite well and has no issues with the durability even after extensive use and washing cycles- the color on the G- 1000 does start to fade a bit, but it looks even cooler that way. Overall these are one of my favorite trousers. For the winter mountain, they are a bit baggy and may get in the way of your crampons, so I switched to a pair of Bergtagen Stretch for that. Still, they can do the job and will not let you down. For all other seasons, they are unbeatable.

Going by the size guide, I ordered size 40, but the hips and legs were much too baggy, although the waist was okay but still loose. I took a chance and exchanged the 40 for a 38. When I first tried them on I found the hips and legs fit perfectly. But the waist, as feared, seemed too snug. I kept the pants for a couple of weeks and every few days I would try them on and wear for short periods indoors. After a while, the waist started to loosen just enough to feel comfortable. I have worn them a few times now and the fit just keeps getting better! I am so happy because I really wanted to like these pants and now I have a pair that fit beautifully. I will use them for hiking year round and in the winter as a good pair of outdoor pants in Alaska.

My daughter got me a pair of these pants for Christmas last year. When I tried them on I instantly fell in love with how they felt. They were a little big in the waste and slightly long. However, what I really love about these pants are the ankle straps and the ability to cinch them around your boots. Perfect hunting pant in my opinion with leg/thigh vents and large pockets fir phone and e- collar remote, or anything you carry. They are super comfortable, water resistant on the legs, and they dry quickly everywhere. I love the way these pants feel and look. I recently bike commuted in them in the rain and unexpectedly they did great shedding water, they barely got wet at all. I love the stretchy waistband and overall fit. Being a little taller, they bottoms are a few inches above my ankles but that's fine if you 're looking for that. I would love an identical option that extended another 6 '' or so and in a few more fun colors. I 'm about 5' 7 '' and 133# and a size S was just right to avoid a baggy look that still moved well. I always seem to fall somewhere between an OR size S and M for bottoms, though.

I climb in them frequently and they hold up on wide cracks and sharp crystals. They look great and are so comfortable. I recently took a skid on a downhill abrasive, pebbly hike and thought `` this is end of these pants ''. I was wrong- they were n't at all damaged and the rock dust just brushed off. I would love to see some more colors in muted tones- gray, drab olive green, etc. The khaki color goes with most color tops, but the green is an evergreen color that does n't go with most of my wardrobe, just the black and white tops. I dress in dull colors that do n't show travel wear.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl; dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear

Not sure how to use them? Are pants suppose to go under them? if so shorts or really supper thin ultra light hiking pants. Not as generous as the picture. I understand there `` minimalist '' meant for backpacking but would of like to have a bit more leg room and perhaps a wider hip so you can put them over pants. The mens Med jacket has room but the pants fall short 0r should i say tight. Use then for all four season. Hopeful they will work for winter sports with just a basis layer under neath.

I really like these trousers. I wanted a pair of hiking trousers that looked a little more stylish and can be worn in a multitude of scenarios. I have them in green, a pleasing military shade, and like the fact they are all a single block of colour unlike many two- tone hiking trousers( which I personally find a little uncool). Material is flexible facilitating easy and fluid movement and is durable but not heavy. The cut is straight, not baggy, a little more slim than most walking trousers. The elasticated hem is practical and aids with the slimmer line of the trouser. The 3 pockets are all zipped which is practical. The yellow logo on the back is cool. I would recommend and may also buy in the blue colour too.

Hang well.( 2) Having the high rise waist is great; the pants stay securely in place while I move in any direction, at any speed.( 3) The horizontal zippered front pockets are an excellent style and security feature:( a) you do n't get that pocket gap pop- out that comes with non- zippered, angled pockets and( b) there's no fear that what you put in those pockets, like keys, will fall out.( 4) They are perfect for travel. I wanted to love these pants, but they could 've been better. I thought they fit TTS, I 'm 5' 9 180lb with wider hips, and usually wear a large in bottoms like these, so that's what I ordered. The large fit great( and these are tall girl friendly!!), however, the waistband was oddly large. There is no drawstring to tighten them, and it just felt so loose around the waist with no structure. I expected some kind of elastic waistband, but it was just a loose stretchy fabric. I might take them somewhere to see if I can have the waist taken in, but it just did n't feel secure.

I bought a large and have room to wear both baselayer and leggings over. I like them baggy; they cinch tight and the ankles have good velcro and long leg zippers for a quick pull on in sudden rain. I 'm excited to take these on my trip. I am a true `` medium '' and could wear these over single leggings in that size but, I 'm skydiving and need the wind and rain protection so extra layers are essential.
