I wore these on a long day of walking all day in 95+ degree weather and they were so comfortable! I loved that I could unzip them a bit at the bottom of leg for airflow. The “ Arche Rock Pants ”, according to a very helpful person in Consumer Service, are the closest match. Initial observations. These pants are true to size. They fit great with a belt. I was worried about the boot hook and vent zipper. The boot hook is tucked away so that it is protected from accidently catching. The zipper pulls on the vents tucks away when open or closed.

Barents are by far my favorite as they sit quite high, but unfortunately they do n't make them anymore and Barents pro sit lower( so does Vidda). Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Currently using these on the AT. They are lightweight, dry fast, sit comfortably under my hip belt, and have a nice stretch. The cinch at the bottom is nice for hiking them up during hot days. My only complaints are the pockets could be a little bigger/deeper, and there should be more colors. I am 5' 4 '', 150#, and have square hips and a flatter butt, usually wear between a size 6 and 8 in pants. Size small fits perfectly in these.

The transit pants are a step- up in fashion compared to the standard Ferrosi pants. Granted I 'm not a fashion master as my wife reminds me but these are versatile enough to wear climbing or to work. They do n't have the zipper thigh pocket but as I mentioned this gives them a slightly more formal look and fit. Obviously it goes without saying that they are comfortable, stretchy and lightweight like the entire Ferrosi line. Sometimes the Ferrosi line is known to pill but I have n't noticed any yet after a couple of months wear.

The Web is great because of the zippers... but the Midsummer pants are so light and look so great, my Kebs will most likely do n't see much of the sun. The cuffs with the drawcord are great. they will allow you you pull the pants up to your knee and fix them so you can wade in the water. The material is light and I doubt that it will hold up when you do some serious hiking and your gear takes a beating. But time will tell. [ First try on these pants( Tarmac in 52) and I find them to be a little large in the waist. I find them about perfect in the seat and thigh and appreciate the length( prefer 35 ''- 36 '' inseam). The fabric is soft even without washing and is quiet as others have mentioned. I 'll drop down a size for the next pair and try another color. The Tarmac is kinda hard to describe as it appears to almost be what I 'd call a dark olive. I 'll have to wear them for a while to be able to tell about how tough they are( hope they are as tough as nails cause they ai n't cheap. To wrap it up, a bit large in the waist but fine fit otherwise for me.

I love the way these pants feel and look. I recently bike commuted in them in the rain and unexpectedly they did great shedding water, they barely got wet at all. I love the stretchy waistband and overall fit. Being a little taller, they bottoms are a few inches above my ankles but that's fine if you 're looking for that. I would love an identical option that extended another 6 '' or so and in a few more fun colors. I 'm about 5' 7 '' and 133# and a size S was just right to avoid a baggy look that still moved well. [ So I initially ordered these to have a pair of lightweight hiking pants for the days when it ’s too cold for shorts but too warm for a heavier pair of trousers like my vidda pros. After receiving them I was really surprised with how light and comfortable they were. They look sharp enough to go to a modest dinner in but are also equally fitting for sitting around the campfire. The zippered pockets are one or the primary reasons I purchased them because I ’ ve had my pocket knife or other small items fall out of my pocket when sitting down more times than I know. Now here is what really surprised me about the pants. In case you didn ’ t know, Vardag means “ everyday life ” in Swedish. This I have found is a perfect name for these pants because I have worn them nearly every single day since I received them about a month ago. Because of their versatility I find myself putting them on first thing in the morning and basically going about my entire day without changing out of them until bedtime. They really do live up to their name of “ everyday life ” pants. I have slowly purchased several Fjallraven products over the past year or so including Vidda pro pants, Anorak No. 8, Organic cotton sweatshirt, high coast hip pack, and these pants. If I could only choose one Fjallraven product out of all of those it would likely be these pants. That said, every item I have received from them has been the highest of quality and gives me the fizz each time I use it. I ’ m grateful God has allowed me to own such fine items during my short time on this earth. In closing, my experience with these pants and Fjallraven, Kifaru, Leupold, or other high end manufacturers in general is to buy quality one time and be done with it. I own a lot less stuff now than I used to and my closet has very few items in it compared to most but every item I own is of the highest quality and I feel has enhanced my enjoyment exploring the creation we call earth.

[ This is my second pair. They have changed the fit slightly so I had to buy a 36 '' instead of 34 ''( my previous purchase). They are not extremely rugged but if you plan on doing difficult hikes that are n't too technical( climbing etc) then these are great.

[ These pants are awesome for winter hiking. I love the fabric and how sturdy they seem! The fit is just `` okay ''- the rise is too long on me, and the `` short '' 30 '' version is still a little long( and I normally wear a 30 ''). I also do n't think the bulky pockets are super flattering, but I 'm also very happy that they have such nice big pockets. So these wo n't be my usual pants, because my Kuhl pants are more flattering and fit better, BUT if we head out for a winter hike, these will definitely be the pants I wear.

[ I love these pants. Warm. Waterproof and super comfy. Wish they had more than 2 pockets though. Normally an XL but the XXL gives me a little wiggle room. They do have the Velcro at the waist to tighten them which is great to get a perfect fit.

[ Traveled to Alaska in January and brought these pants along. They kept me warm and dry in- 30 F temps and did very well in several feet of snow while snow shoeing and sledding. I at first bought a size small and they fit me like a glove, then returned for a medium so that I could wear them on top of my bottom layers for the day. The medium fit well with jeans and thermals under. The bottom of the pants have an elastic to go around your boot to keep snow from getting in your pants and boots and that seemed to hold up well despite me trucking along in several feet of snow.

[ I have always loved Columbia as a brand for sports and work. This pair of Ski pants are just amazing. I love it has some velcro inside the waist level to adjust the fit you just want. I bought a size small because the medium was quite big. In cm, I am between 65- 70cm in waist and hips 100- 105cm. Fitted great, a bit tight at the beginning but with use got loose. You can expand the lower leg to fit your ski boots and your moon boots or chunky boots. This is just great. I use it with the Ava Jacket and amazing. Thank you!!!

[ These pants were exactly what I needed for a hiking trip in Iceland. We spent 10 days driving around the country and hiking in rain, behind waterfalls and visiting a( melting) glacier. I am 5' 3 '' and 143lbs. I wear a medium but wanted these pants large to fit over leggings and cold winter wear for a trip to Iceland. They are baggy as they should be. I bought a large and have room to wear both baselayer and leggings over. I like them baggy; they cinch tight and the ankles have good velcro and long leg zippers for a quick pull on in sudden rain. I 'm excited to take these on my trip. I am a true `` medium '' and could wear these over single leggings in that size but, I 'm skydiving and need the wind and rain protection so extra layers are essential. Trip in July, let you know how they hold up after.
