I bought these shoes at a local running store and I am in love with them! I never thought I could love a tennis shoe more. I bought them specifically for my job. I am a graphic designer most of the time but there are a few times a year that I am a photographer for my work and one is for a week at a time. It ’s about 4 hours of constant walking, bending, crouching and stretching which is not the norm for me. Last year I developed pain in my lower back that I had for many weeks after the event week was done and the event was a struggle to do well. I knew I couldn ’ t do that to myself this year and I know it ’s because of my shoe choice. I like back at my average step total for last years event was significantly lower than this year because I ’ m not in pain! I love these shoes! I had two pairs of the 5s. The rubber did come off on the bottom the first week but I superglued it back on. I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc in these babies and they did great! Love the extra cushioning and durability. Will definitely buy them again for my next long hike. The extra cushioning prevented any foot pain. I 'd say they lasted a whole summer of maybe 200 miles of hiking!

[ I have been using the Altra Olympus 6 for hiking, running, and fastpacking. This is my first time trying a full- cushion trail shoe, but I have been road running in the Altra Torin for about 6 years. After about 25 miles of mixed terrain, weather and landscapes, I feel this shoe excels in climbing and tackling dry, loose terrain. I felt stable and powerful sprinting up sandy hillsides and dusty singletrack. The shoe absorbs the impact of large gravel, and bites into turns well. I slid around a bit on large wet roots and slick rocks under the stiff midfoot but recovered quickly and happily traded that for the protection from sharp obstacles. The high stack kept my feet dry when encountering mud and puddles, while the well ventilated upper kept me comfortable on long, hot days. The contoured form around the Achilles took a little getting used to, but it worked to lock my heel on ascents; no hot spots. Laces stay tied. Altra gave me this free product to try, and I 'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.

I 'm happy to report my feet are very happy in these shoes!! I especially love the `` Gaiter Trap '' on these shoes! No need to mess with putting my own hook/loop stuff, these have it securely built in. The stack height is larger than I 'm used to so I thought I 'd trip over nature but nope, not anymore than my normal clumsiness! The cushion is great to keep feet fresh while going the distance. The snug heel hangs on tight to help avoid slippage. The Vibram soles have the perfect grip to keep me upright on mud and wet grass and gravel!

[ All I run in is Altra's, so I was stoked when Altra gave me this free product to try. The Olympus 6's look a bit like oversize clown shoes, however, they are SO comfortable I just love running in them! Recently, I was running up a muddy hill along Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and some guy and his dog tried to run up the same hill, and he started sliding down it! I reached my hand out to help him get up the hill, and so he grabbed onto it, and the grip of these shoes was nearly strong enough to hold up him and me, but eventually he started to drag me down the hill with him, so I yelled at him to let go, as he propelled up. It was reaffirming to me though how well these Olympus 6's performed compared to other trail shoes- especially on the wet/muddy ground! These Olympus 6's have one heck of a grip! The colors are decent( I always prefer men's colors to women's, but the women's are okay on this model shoe). The heel is a bit large on me, and the shoes look silly on my skinny legs, but these really are super comfortable shoes that still feel pretty lightweight( all things considered) and really do perform well! For someone looking for a high cushioned shoe with good traction, I 'd highly recommend the Olympus 6's. Thanks Altra for providing these shoes for free to me so I could review them. I sure do love them!

I purchased two pairs of the Glycerin 21 style in Spring 2025 to supplement my Brooks Ghost 15 shoes, which are no longer available. I wear AFO braces and have found the Glycerin to offer slightly more comfort in the heel because of the outer heel style and perhaps a bit more slope of the sole, heel to toe, than the Ghost. The Glycerin seems slightly more snug across the toe box than the Ghost, although not enough to be uncomfortable. I generally order from the company website because the braces require a size 10 wide and I like color and design choices.

I have one of the rarest disease in the world. It is called Stiff Person syndrome. Céline Dion has the same disease. I ’ ve had this for 12 years. These shoes were huge investment for me. I recommend them for healthcare workers, runners, disabled, anyone who stands on their feet all day, or who is in constant pain. I am in 10+++ plus pain scale every single day pretty much. LOVE THESE! I just bought 9 different shoe styles( Hoka, Asics, Saucony, Brooks) to find my perfect fit with stability and cushion. Most are thick and bulky to serve this purpose but these are not! My only complaint is they need better color options. I actually ended up buying 2 pairs... one for work( ICU Nurse) and another for the gym. I also love the sock fit and pull- on tab on the heel... makes putting on and off a breeze. I do wish the laces were a little longer. I learned to loop them on the last 2 holes then lace through that loop to add more ankle support and these do not allow for a secure double knot... not a deal breaker as they do tie pretty secure as a single knot, but it's a preference.

My go to every day shoe. They are super versatile and comfy. I wear these to work with jeans, skirts, athleisure style slacks- they go with everything. I personally love the chunky look of them and the white leather makes them more fashion- forward and versatile. I wore them everyday straight for a week in Europe and had no reason to switch to my other shoes. They wipe clean easily too. These are not my favorite Brooks shoes for running, but definitely my favorite for daily wear comfort and style. Stiffer at first then other ghost max but they loosen a bit with wear. The leather is also less breathable than other materials, but worth it to me.

I 've spent the summer trying everything to alleviate my sudden plantar fasciitis from orthotics to Hokas and several other brands recommended by lots of sympathetic folks. I do have weird feet. High arch and instep, wide toes somewhat narrow heel, and supinating gate. Until I got these Altra Egos, it felt like walking around with a thumbtack in my heel. Now finally relief! I have a wide foot& found it difficult to find a shoe that fit well, had the features I wanted, and did n't look ugly. Although this shoe does not come in wide, I read a prior review saying it had a wide enough toe box to accommodate that width. I took a chance and bought a pair. I was delighted to find it does, in fact, accommodate a wide( D) width, and it fits perfectly- not oversized at the ankle. It makes walking much easier and more comfortable. As a by women for women brand, many working women in, for example, the food service industry, need a comfortable black shoe. These would be perfect. I would certainly buy another pair, if black were offered as a color choice. My feet love these shoes! The heel is a little higher than I am used to, so I wear a little higher socks( normally I would wear the no- show socks, so I just bought regular ones). Would 100% recommend these for everyday use. But I don ’ t recommend them in the snow.. they become pretty slippery.

So far, it delivers the right amount of support. Advertised as stain resistant. After 2 weeks, I 've managed to keep them clean. However, I 'm curious how the 'rinse off' technique will work when there's a spill or stain.

These are my comfiest Ryka's and I own several pairs of Ryka's in different styles. By comfy I mean soft and cushiony. These are not extremely supportive like Hokas which can be stiff. I walk over a mile to and from work on city sidewalks and am up and about all day. These shoes help keep me moving.

The Devoted Walking Sneaker's design is brilliant. At first, you think, what's with this toebox! The width feels just right but the fabric top is oddly roomy with airspace above your toes. The fabric is not stretched tightly, so it's a bit loose. Your toes can move. Toe bumps are n't rubbed. PLUS the heel is snug. So, when you lace up, your feet stay put and do n't shift around. The snug heel plus roomy toebox mean your metatarsals do n't get pinched or achy. ALL THIS, PLUS the shoe bed is super comfortable with incredible cushioning front and back. For me, the cushioning is so good that I do n't even need my custom orthotics for bad metatarsals, something I 've required for 30 years. fyi my other favorite Ryka model for daily use is Devotion X Walking Shoe, which provides a fit that's more tailored with fabulous cushioning, also no orthotics needed. I wear my Rykas for everyday/all day use, long walks, and driving( 5- on- the- floor w/ firm clutch).

[ Some reviewers mentioned these fit snuggly, so I was cautious because I do have quite wide feet. I 'm glad I took the risk because though I do find it helps to make use of a shoe horn to ease putting them on, with thin running socks they fit just right! Snug but not too tight. I have arthritic knees, and these have the perfect combination of cushion and stability for walking on a variety of terrain, from light hiking trails to gravel to sidewalk. I had wished for different color options, but when they arrived I found the salmon color quite striking, so I 'm quite pleased with that in the end too.
