We play catch( even inside now that it ’s super cold and snowy) with no worries about getting hurt or fear of the ball that she got from a regular softball. Tennis balls were a nice thing for a while but the fact that this is the right size and weight really helps her get a good feel in her glove for the ball and what to expect when catching the ball she will be using in spring. We have 10 of these and use them all the time. Every good coach knows he must always practice basic fundamentals and this is a core component to our practices. We use them for ground ball and popup practices. Our boys square in front of the ball and use the alligator hand approach on grounds in games and two hands during pop ups. A fun thing we do at the end of practice is use a softball sized foam ball, softhands and regular composite bats. Split the boys into two teams and play a game at the end of practice. Great show for weightlifting and stability, but runs small. I am a size 7. 5 and generally wear an 8 in Nike sneakers( Pegasus, etc.) so that I have room in the toes in case my feet swell a little from heat or hiking, etc. I ordered the Metcon in my normal Nike size of 8 and my big toe is basically at the tip of the shoe, so I need to exchange them for an 8. 5. If I was using them for hiking or anything I thought would make my feet swell, I might even size up to a 9 which would be absolutely wild! Love it, having tons of fun with this. Been teaching my girlfriend and my friend how to throw different pitches, and it really helps to have a net that fields to back to you, like this. It comes with 4 lawn stakes, go and buy like 4 more, they are super inexpensive and will help it from tipping over if you accidentally hit on the very top. Only other downside it the screws provided, they will get damaged, I have been using this for about 60 hours now and still have n't broken them, but it's starting to strip the screws provided. But that also is a inexpensive fix to be honest for when it does eventually break the bolt

1st time set up in about 3 minutes. Can throw this up in living room with ease now when kids want some Tee work. Super easy to take to games. Use the impact balls and no bother with staking it down, and causes no wear on the materials. Will begin pitching into it come fall with real balls so that may change, but no issues I have discovered yet for my intended purpose.

This was another item one of my son's got for Christmas, it serves as a very good tool for throwing in addition to hitting. Like other nets we have gotten, this does surprisingly well with footballs as well as baseball.
