I 'm seeing several bad reviews on this product, which I find surprising because I 've own mine for 2 years, through some nasty Midwest weather, and it's been amazing! This hoop system is TOUGH, high quality, and although it's expensive, it's worth every penny if your son/daughter is a highly competitive player who will use it regularly. I highly recommend it!

I Bought this hoop for my son's 6th grade graduation present. He loves playing basketball and is pretty good so I thought this would be a good idea. But anyway, I had to pick the two base poles up and smash them together for almost 30 minutes!!! I am glad that I kept up my fitness training. Then I had to attach the poles to the base, relatively easy but the tools that I need are scarce. I mean, you need a HUGE wrench extender and it just is not that popular. Because we needed to go to the store to get the tools, we figured we could also get the sand too. But the instructions do n't tell you how much sand you need! Like, what?!!! But we decided to go with around 480 lbs. Then we put the rest together. Once the hoop was together, best thing ever! I love and my kid was so happy to have a really good hoop to play on and practice for the school team. In conclusion, installation is terrible but the after product is great. Also, how much sand?????????

We bought this goal to install at our little country church for our neighborhood kids to enjoy. The instructions were easy to follow, but it did take two men two or three hours to put the goal together. We cemented the base post in and assembled the rest while it dried. We are now waiting two or three days before we install the rest of the post and goal onto the base post.

Assembly was definitely not 90 minutes but family enjoyed putting this together as we all participated in it. Agree with another review that it is heavy once filled up and the fact the instructions pointed that out in the beginning. Would highly advise to have it where it will be used before you fill it up! It is heavy and difficult to move so I would n't try by yourself! We added a weather proof bag with another 100 pounds of sand to keep on top and it survived 60mph winds that came through where we live. I will say, I keep it lowered to 8 feet when it was windy and it kept it lower to the ground vs extended to 10 feet. Crank is easy to work and markings on pole are easy to read. Would buy again!

I bought a budget hoop for the kids a couple of years ago and it was fine, but now that they ’ re older and taking basketball more serious, it was time to upgrade as they recognized how flimsy their old basket was compared to gym quality equipment. After days of research I decided on the Momentous Arena goal and have been very pleased. Not only does it look better than cheaper units but the setup is in fact much much simpler. It took me around an hour by myself, but I was in no hurry. The sound coming off the glass is better and it doesn ’ t rattle around like our old goal. Another plus is how easy it is to take down, seeing as I have it set up right on the road; no more worrying about delivery trucks snagging the net if it ’s going to be unused for a period of time. For a mid- level portable goal I don ’ t think you can do any better.

I bought this while on sale for an excellent price. My kids are so happy with this purchase. We did make some modifications to the pole when we put it in concrete. FYI, the instructions say to dig your concrete 3 feet deep. We did not read that beforehand and had to do additional concrete work later. We even used rebar to sturdy things up.

The only negative we have encountered is a little shaking of the goal after a shot but has not affected play. I bought this just a few weeks ago. The original order said it would take 10 days to deliver..... it was at my front door in 2 days. Instructions are super easy! Make sure you buy your own mounting lags or bolts( they are n't included). I bought eight 5/8 x 5 '' wood lags with washers and the hoop feels like Shaq could n't even tear it down.

Escalade ’s order process time is excessively long. It took 7- 8 days before the hoop was shipped. Now, the hoop itself is great. All the bolts and nuts were shrink wrapped onto a cardboard sheet which made finding the right hardware super easy. This was probably the easiest item I ’ ve ever assemble simply due to the way the hardware is packaged. The backboard is a little less rigid than I had hoped for but as long as bank shots hit close the white rectangle on the backboard it works well. All in all I highly recommend this hoop.

This is a great basketball hoop and is worth spending the extra money on something more sturdy. It has a good basketball feel to it especially with the backboard and is a perk that the height can be adjusted based on your needs. We 've already had kids dunk on it and I 'm not concerned with it being able to be pulled into the pool. The other nice aspect is the base can be set behind the coping and the hoop itself will still be over the pool. The set up was fairly straight forward. You will need another person to assist towards the end to connect the backboard but its not overly heavy. Definitely recommend!

We 've been using this goal for around a month, and it is top- notch compared to the portable hoop with the polycarbonate backboard. We installed it ourselves, and it's not hard at all. If you 're able to dig a hole and mix concrete, that's the hardest part( labor). I recommend using the Sakrete Maximizer Concrete Mix from Lowes. It goes farther, mixes easer and is a higher strength concrete. We dug a hole 36 '' deep and 24 '' square, and it took 9 bags. Build your own concrete form out of 2X4s, and make sure the form is level on the ground before you pour. When putting the goal together, the instructions are clear, and the hardware is packaged so it's easy to find. You 'll need at least 2 people to stand the pole up, and if you can get 3 to hang the backboard, your day will be easier. We backed a truck up close to the pole and stood on the bed instead of using ladders, which made hanging the backboard way easier. The hoop is sturdy with minimal wobble between shots. The rim is unforgiving, which I like, as I feel it will make the kids better shooters. The backboard is tempered glass, so it reacts the same as backboards in the gyms. These usually go on sale for almost half price around Christmas, so if you can wait until that time you will save money.

I purchases the GS72c from Dicks in April 2024. Spent about 5 days installing it per the instructions. The biggest challenges were getting the hole dug to specs( lovely when you hit roots and rocks), Standing the pole upright, and attaching the backboard. My two sons and I accomplished it but we should have had a 4th member for safety. I enjoyed reading everyone's approach to getting the backboard on. Personally, we had just purchased 6p bags of mulch and made scaffolding of sorts to allow for 2 members to hold the backboard in place while a third, on the ladder, set the bolts. It was NOT easy. If your goal rattles much at all, make sure you have used ALL the plastic bushings and washers. ALL of the parts will be used by the time you are finished. Do n't skimp of the hole/concrete. Do it right. This goal is outstanding and my sons have said it is way better than the ones they play on at a local indoor court. There is no rattle. Very little shake. When the ball hits any part of the goal, there is no weak bounce back. It is solid and sounds solid. Our biggest disappointment was that there was no Pad or bottom of the glass protection with the goal. I also reached out to Goalrilla for a discount on those parts but the said no 😞.
