[ Great axe. I bought this for some light mountaineering and it does not disappoint. Light, sturdy, dependable. Highly recommend this ice axe.

5 Topsykaye
[ This axe is the perfect size, durability and weight for my lightweight backpacking adventures. Ordered it based on a recommendation from a friend and so glad I did.

5 Soup water
[ I bought this axe because of its ability to self arrest on ease and it works flawlessly It ’s pick construction makes grabbing the ice easy and as a beginner I wanted the reassurance that I got an axe that can save my life

5 Corriveauchris1211
[ I purchased this axe for a mountaineering school on Rainer. This ice axe is great for general mountaineering but also versatile enough for complex or steep routes. I like the rubberized grip and curved shaft which elevate it from the design of a standard ice axe. These features really assist on steep snow climbing. Additionally, the teardrop design of the shaft make it more comfortable in the mid- dagger position. Finally, the weight is still relatively low despite its solid design.

5 asnickels
[ Great axe for casual and light technical use. Feels great in hand and very light. I 'd recommend going slightly shorter if you 're in between.

Wonderful multi- purpose jacket. Plenty of places to carry things with you. It's warm enough for most days, depending upon your usage, but also light enough to wear on its own in the spring. Stylish, functional and value for the purchase price.

5 Chao
I use it to hike and for around town. It looks sharp and the proportions fit perfectly. I 'm 5'10 '' and 155 lbs and it's a great fit. Also warm even though it's lightweight.

5 Carter
This is my second jacket, will continue to buy when old ones wear out.

5 RobL
[ I have been climbing for 30 years in total and in various iterations of this harness for a long time now. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of function, fit, and durability, and especially price. One of the things that I like most about it are the gear loops. A lot of brands put their loops too low on the harness in my opinion, which causes gear to hang down around your lower leg. I prefer things to sit higher so that everything is tighter to my body when I move. The harness trad climbs and sport climbs equally well. The only downside to it is the weight being a little on the heavy side. I prefer a 32 inch waist in pants and wear a size medium in this harness, which puts me at the bottom end of the fit and allows me to cinch the waist within a cm of all the way down. This puts the gear loops more towards the front. When you look at the size range for a harness, always make sure to consider that the measurement will be smaller than your waist size because you wear it above your hips.

5 Jordie_62
[ I work at a university gym and am constantly giving long catches to new climbers who take tons of falls. This harness is a solid gym contender with great belay comfort and has the perfect amount of storage for multiple belay devices, a PAS, and extra carabiners and slings. If you ’ re looking for a no frills do all harness this is it.

5 Jerbs
[ This harness is simple but effective. No frills, only what you need. The leg straps do n't need to be tightened since all you really need to stay safe is a tight hip harness, so it makes it really comfy to put on.

5 stine2
[ used this on several climbs now and it's good to go!!! so far no problems at all and I 'm a bigger climber but the stretchy leg harness helps out a lot!!

5 jcag2189
[ I 've had a couple of Petzl SAMA harnesses that each lasted for years. The indoor/gym harness in particular stayed so fresh that people asked if it was a new harness for a couple years after purchase. But it was really the fit( with just a little padding), foolproof elastic leg loops, and bomber durability that brought me back for the 3rd time. The only real differences with the current version is that it looks better than ever. The heather gray is understated and contemporary- it 'll accent your insanely bright puffer or shoes. Will definitely buy again.

[ Incredible handling and climbing right out of the package with minimal coil. Superior handling to any rope I 've used before( Petzl, BD, Mammut, etc.). Even with the double dry coating, the rope is still super subtle and handles as though there's no coating on it at all.

4 Ziggx
[ I have done about 35 pitches with this rope. Aside from the normal stress getting twists out that most new ropes give i am really impressed with the handling of this rope and how easily it feeds through belay devices. It still catches falls really nicely though. I have used this rope with a rope bag except on multipitches so i am surprised at how much dirt this rope has picked up. Although we did get caught in the rain once and it may have been a little damp on the next outing. I will give it a wash and evaluate further

The length on this coat is great, and the extended neck keeps me warm when I 'm doing field work.

5 Charles
Nice shell so many concealed pockets. The only knock is the center zipper is not the sweet waterproof zippers as in the rest of hacket

5 Martin
Great all mountain jacket, but especially for touring. Pockets are well designed and useful. Warm with plenty of ventilation. Perfect for touring and great for resort days

5 Carrie
All around great piece. Skinning up or shredding down this jacket was made for the elements.

5 David
Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer does n't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. I have high hopes this jacket will hold up for years snowboarding here on our icy slopes. I 'm already liking the tech designed into this jacket.

5 Mike
This jacket exceeded my expectations. This specific Summit Series puffer jacket is a bit more `` puffier '' than other down puffer jackets. It's very warm and can be worn as a mid layer or by itself.

5 NYC King
I have two different versions/years of this jacket. Love the weight to warmth ratio- super light. Very wam and comfortable but, recommend a shell if your adventure will encounter wind.

5 Andrew
So far, so good. It's light and very warm. It packs up small and it's really comfortable. I just picked it up, so I ca n't speak to durability over time- but if my previous NF purchases are any indication, I 'll be weary this for a decade.

5 David
What an epic piece of equipment. Light, warm, durable, good looking. Fits perfectly. Very high quality. What I would expect from TNF's technical lineup

5 Rob
This is a beautiful lightweight technical insulating layer warm and compressible. Worn as a stand alone garment or under my Freedom parka. Love this coat for freezing days at East Vail or on the lift at Abasin I 'd totally own a brace of these!

5 Dean
I work Mountain Patrol in the San Bernardino mountains. I have used the North Face gear for a long time; it has never let me down. This is my second pair of this line, and they get the job done when you need it most.

5 Debbie
I love my new gloves. Used them in the rain and they kept my hands warm and dry. Fit is perfect too.

5 Noah
Extremely well built gloves, unlike most things you buy today you can actually feel the quality and workmanship in the glove. I 've so far used them outside on a day with- 25c and 80km/h winds and my fingers did n't get numb or lose dexterity at all. They are also very light weight for how warm they are.

5 Jean
These gloves remind me of TNF stuff from the 80's, amazing quality and thoughtful design with high end materials.

5 Gichan
These gloves keep your hand dried very well. I have n't used under several weather yet, so I am not sure about waterproof from rain& snow yet. I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

[ I bought this harness a few months ago and it had arrived after about 5 days. This harness I plan to stick with this for years to come. This harness is lightweight for all of the equipment loops with are very nicely made and the rigid loops at the front do their job. I am very pleased with petzls redesign of this harness!

5 Cowboy
[ I absolutely love this harness. The quality is amazing and it adjust to fit perfectly no matter what I am waring. I added the new petzl ice clip and it couldn ’ t be a better fit. This harness is amazingly comfortable, I bought it to to do tree work and belay my kids but my new Battman Belt has renewed my sense of adventure so I am planning exciting climbing and repelling adventures for my kids and I. Life is good!

5 Seppa
[ fits well. gear loops are where you expect them. unobtrusive when you 're climbing. haul loop in the back is a bit difficult to access, but I 'm sure I 'd recommend this harness.

5 Tim R
[ So happy with this harness. Easy to put on, Feels great, light, and keeps your straps out of your way. The belay loop is also slimmer than those super wide belay loops which is nice because it stays out of your way when being belayed. No negatives. A+++

5 AOmegaIV

[ Wear it on long multipitch climbs and always felt very comfortable in them all day. It has enough loops to rack up for trad climbs as well without getting too cluttered

5 DanSan
[ Great all around harness. It's comfortable, adjustable, good for long days in the the gym or outdoors. I recently lost a lot of weight and I bought this same harness again. You pay a little bit more for it, but you definitely get what you pay for.

5 Dvt1249
[ I ’ ve only had this a few weeks and have used on two short multi- pitch climbs, but I ’ m impressed so far. It is very comfortable and I like the adjustability. The gear loops are good sized and organized nicely

5 Drewgabe04
[ Super comfortable harness with plenty of room on the gear racks. Great trad rack but still light and discreet enough for sport and gym climbing.

5 Joel
[ This is only my second harness but definitely my favorite, the two gear loops on either side are usual but where this harness shines is in the 5th gear loop directly in the back, I tend to use it for my anchor building stuff, my quad, some locking draws, whatever it might be and also my rappel gear( atc and prusik). This thing is ridiculous for trad, pieces on the front two gear loops and draws on the side two gear loops and my jumar stuff. The other piece of this harness I really like is the fact that it is thin yet comfortable and padded much more than my previous harness.

I ’ ve used numerous harnesses for Mountaineering and so far this is my favorite. It ’s light, easily adjustible, comfortable, and has enough attachments points to carry the essentials.

5
Have used other light weight harnesses especially BD. While they have served great and fine but needed more security for glacial peaks& mountains like Denali and Rainier. The solid loops to hang carabiners gives that peace of mind. Bottomline- lightest and strongest in the market. Petzel Altitude comes right close but I like Mammut colors as they are visible in whiteout or glacial peaks like Denali, Rainier, 8000m,.

5
I bought this originally for rescue in my job as a ski patroller and have found myself bringing it on every ski touring trip where I may need a harness instead of my BD Couloir. While the Mammut does not pack down as small it is more robust and comfortable. The small bit of extra size and weight is negligible in my opinion.

5
Just used this climbing mt hood, did great. I love that you do n't have to take off skis to put it on.

5
Very Happy with this harness. I used it while ski mountaineering and it was great.

These are killer bibs and built to last. Lighter than my other 3L bibs but awesome. Easy to get in and out of and the one hand suspender adjust works great.

It ’s comfortable and light and compact. It has everything you need to start.

5 James K
I ordered this as my first personal harness as I was provided one for a job I had. The harness is very comfortable and the multiple adjustment points make for a great fit. ATC does ATC things, chalk bag is nice but the strap on it is super thin if you care about that. Great beginner kit for anyone starting out. It did n't apply for a shipping deal Mammut had with the rest of my gear and ended up costing as much as it says it was listed for before the deal. So look out for that if you 're buying it with a lot of other things. Overall great no problems with product.

5 Preston K
Pretty new to top roping and this bundle has all of the bells and whistles. Fits great, easy to adjust, and a 2nd chalk bag( have one for bouldering) is nice. My friends who have years of climbing exp and got me hooked approved to say the least

5 Michael B
The harness is great and has been very comfortable while I ’ ve gone climbing!

5 Richard B
Unbeatable harness. It is stable and comfortable. ATC belay device and other basic accessories are light and top quality.

5 Jacinto F
This harness is comfortable for a full day in the alpine. I spent 16+ hours wearing this harness scrambling, alpine trad climbing, rappelling, and doing some sketchy snow crossings. While a bit heavier than some of the Petzl options it ’s 100% worth it for the comfort.

5 James B
I bought this harness because I wanted a low weight, compact harness for mountain guiding and glacier travel. It worked perfectly and was super comfortable to wear while traversing the glacier even with my backpack on. Also, in general it is a really comfortable harness to wear for top rope and gym lead. I have n't used it for sport or trad yet, but I 'll update when I have.

5
I originally got this harness for ice climbing as it has 6 different ice tool clipper spots( on both sides, 12 total) of the waist. This allowed me to put my ice tool clippers exactly where I wanted them versus where they have to be on other harnesses. It is very lightweight with functional gear loops. I recently took it alpine climbing and it felt awesome having it on all day, even through the more scrambly areas of the climb. Would highly recommend especially for women that have a bigger chest or hips and need to put ice tool clippers in specific spots in order to see them. I have a Large which works great with winter layers but I could have also fit a medium. I am 5' 6 '' and 170 lbs.

5
Somehow this harness has less padding and is lighter weight than the Ophir slide or the black diamond momentum harness, but is actually more comfortable when sitting in it for a long time. I 'd highly recommend if you have a bit more money to throw in for a harness that you want to be lightweight and still comfy. Fits true to size.

5
Amazin harness which is surprisingly comfortable and does not consume any space in the backpack. I am using it for trad climbing. I climb with 14 cams, 12 slings, and three sets of nuts/tricams. I also carry cordlette, belay device and bunch of lockers. All these can be comfortably clipped to the harness. The front gear loops are bigger and the gear is easy to unclip/clip. I use the front gear loops for cams and draws. The rear loops I use for nuts, lockers and belay devices. The harness has also a small gear loop at the rear in the middle. I use this for the nut tool and sometimes the radio. The harness feels good on my body and I do n't even feel it while climbing. The only little thing I found is the seem in front without any padding pushing against my bones. I did not experience it with my previous harness ocun Ego. Anyway, it is not too annoying and I might get used to it very soon.

[ I needed a new harness for high alpine use where my standard rock climbing harness was not a great fit. This one is very light, super packable, and the leg loop buckles mean you dont have to take off crampons or snowshoes to put it on. Exactly what I needed.

5 Dale
[ Bought this for my daughter for alpine climbing because I was impressed with the quality and it ’s ultralight weight. Perfect for snow and glacier travel. However, if you expect to hang on a rock or ice wall you will want something designed with hanging in mind.

5 palmettousc
[ Purchased exclusively for high altitude glaciated climbing. Comfortable to climb wearing roped or unroped, while belaying/rappelling or crevasse rescue training. Plenty of room on single loops each side for carabiners, cams, stoppers, ropes, etc. Highly recommend due to lighter weight.

4 Steve
[ Got this for an upcoming climb on Rainier. I 'll update my review with more or less stars depending on how it holds up. Bonus points if it saves my butt from a crevasse fall!

4 AstSlc
[ This is a great harness. Super lightweight. Used it for ski mountaineering, but I ’ ve opened the buckles on the legs once by accident. Luckily this wasn ’ t when it was weight loaded.

[ This is the perfect lightweight safety equipment for climbing, it is small size, lightweight and easy to carry. Great tool with multiple uses.

5 smilingtoad
[ I like the croll S for running canyons. Its compact and does not get in the way when I am going through tight slots or awkward crawls but still solid and move up the rope with ease! If looking to use fat or muddy or fat muddy ropes get the croll L!!

5 alicia
[ Makes it way more efficient to ascend. Can sometimes be hard to release on the fly but otherwise it's an awesome piece. I would recommend it.

[ I had never owned or used a hand ascender before this one, so I do n't have anything to compare it to besides a microascender and using the carabiner as a handle. This makes ascending/jugging/jumaring much easier! You need a pretty small force to slide it up the rope, it has never slipped down on me, it always catches and bites well( on 10mm static rope) It's also pretty easy to disengage, the teeth do n't get caught in the sheath very easily, especially if you give it a little push up while disengaging. Practice that motion off the rope a ton of times! You 'll feel a lot more comfortable with it. Practice on the rope on the ground to. I 've climbed about 200 ft total so far and I 'm satisfied. Its a little heavy, but that's to be expected.

5 Zach
[ I haven ’ t used this for a long times and haven ’ t used other ascenders, but from how it ’s worked so far I ’ m happy. It grabs the rope great and doesn ’ t slip. It ’s comfortable to use and easy to engage and disengage on the rope.

5 TheSwedishChef
[ These ascenders are probably the best in the market for a reasonable price. They are very comfortable to hold and to jug with. Easy to use and they hold up to any and all challenges.

5 Justin
[ Works and looks the same as any other ascender, but it's significantly cheaper. Rope climbing with this is a breeze. Build quality of it is very good.

4 JackO
[ Happy I picked one of these up. For too long I was just using a prusik to ascend fixed lines. This ascender is a great value and makes life in the vertical world much more pleasant.

5 Beardo
[ Recently climbed the 3rd Flatiron and during one of three rappels, the rope got stuck. Thankfully had this ascender with and it made those pulls way easier. Great for ascending fixed lines as well, plus the black will be great to have when live events return for stealth mode.

5 Desert Dog
[ I bought this( and a black one, L/R) for TRT/Search and Rescue. I got tired of using( fighting?) Purcell's for ascending a line. These are lightweight and I really do n't notice them on my already- overloaded rack. The mechanicals are solid and smooth, and they grab 10- 11mm rope just fine, slide up with ease, and do n't seem to cause undue wear. The size of the lower mounting hole gives me plenty of options for attaching foot loops, 2nd points of attachment to my harness, etc.

5 Evil Dave
[ Bought my ascender after wanting one for years. Wish I had n't waited it's amazing piece of equipment. It makes the job easy. If you need a belay device look no further.

5 rumscrumbly
[ This is everything you need in an ascender, it's light but feels bomber in your hands. Not tiny either, you could get a bear paw in there. Super smooth moving up the rope and the catch is easy to work with one hand. 'Biner holes big enough for about anything... just another solid Petzl product!

5 the Hight Plains Drifter
I am a 64 year old man, 6' 3 '', 255 lbs. I use this ascender for roof climbing and tree trimming. I know. Little old to be monkeying in trees, but I like to do things myself. The Petzl Ascender has yet to `` let me down ''. Actually it `` let's me down '' perfectly.

Super lightweight harness great for ski traverses. The sizing is a bit smaller than expected.

4
This is a great ultralight harness& super versatile and comfortable( for what it is). Excellent functionality and some of the best racking on this type of harness. Super light and compact too. I prefer this to the Petzl Fly. That said- the sizing is off. I 'm a 32 '' waist and based on Mammut's sizing chart I should be a comfortable medium. In reality I barley squeeze into the medium's hip belt. I have thick legs and the legs are fine though. Overall, I 'd highly recommend this harness, with the caviot that folks should try it on in- store. Hopeful that Mammut can address the sizing issue, but likely plan to size up on this harness. Would be 5 stars, but for the sizing issue.

[ Amazing features and light! Do not pack small but it ’s so light! Love the air trap at the bottom, makes it perfect to use when temperature is around 15C- 20C. Also the both opening on the sides are nice when you toss and turn. I sleep on the side and went from Nemo to this, way prefer my Sea Summit!

[ I adore this sleeping bag. I have taken it on one practice trip before a long backpacking trip, and I was very comfortable in about 50 without lots of layers. I love that you can stick your arms and feet out, or even start your morning as a little coffee- drinking caterpillar if it's dry outside. Unfortunately, it poured on our first camping trip, and the bag got a little damp( heartbreak!), but it dried very quickly when I laid it out. No problems so far!

5 Stephanie G.
[ This is a lovely sleeping bag. My only caveat is as I am 5 ’ 6 ” it just fits. I wish I had ordered the long

5 allyd235
[ The way I am 100% obsessed with this sleeping bag. As a camper, I need a durable good quality one, that will keep me warm but also allow me freedom to move. This has snaps at the top so you can keep your chest warm but your arms free and a zippered bottom so you can open up for your feet ’s freedom but also have the ability to tuck your feet in and leave it unzipped. Used this for camping at a music festival with wind gusts up to 40mph. I was cozy all night!

5 Auscar S.
[ Hands down the absolute best sleeping bag on the market. The women ’s one is slightly warmer and more filled than the men ’s one. Where my girlfriend sleeps colder than me, it ’s absolutely perfect. The women ’s and men ’s ascent zip together for couples, it packs down to the perfect size to fit into my osprey atmos ag 50 sleeping bag compartment. I ’ ve used it down to 25 degrees and it is very comfortable. Keeps you very warm Packs down zippers work better than any bag I ’ ve ever used Sides and bottom unzip so you can use your arms and legs outside of the bag

[ I wanted my new harness to have a waist and leg loops that could be opened completely so I can put it on when wearing crampons, skis, or do n't feel like standing on one foot while putting it on. I was pleased that the gear lops and the ice clippers I added are lined up evenly on both sides when the waist is adjusted.( I have a 32 inch waist and got the large harness because the leg loop size matched my leg measurements.) It's light and does n't take up much space in my pack.

Super comfortable to use! very safe, never dropped or slipped. I wish Mammut would make a smart Alpine 2 like they did with the first smart. Super light and compact, would highly recommend as a cheaper alternative to Grigri.

5
I wanted to try out a new device after using a gri gri for a while now. The smart 2. 0 is much lighter and very smooth to use. This device really shines for me when lead belaying it's the smoothest assisted brake device you can get and not to mention at an awesome price point. 10/10 recommend.

Easy to use once, like everything new, you figure it out, intuitive never the less. Holds well and is nice to have piece of mind if anything happens of for neubies. Assistance for belayer when working a route puts ATC style devices to shame! Also still worked on icy and wet ropes where the Grigri struggles.

This device works for my brain super well, the lowering system works super clean and makes for a reliable and smooth belay. Feeding slack is super simple on this device and I much prefer using this to lead belay over a Gri gri. On top of all of this, the assisted brake works super well and is easy to show to whatever climber I ’ m belaying making them feel super safe. Epic!

5 Kambal B
Lighter and more simple than the Grigri. Use it all the time for gym climbing. Give great peace of mind and is easy and intuitive to use.

5 Cameron T
I 've used this in the gym and at the crag and it has worked great so far. It takes a little to get used to giving slack but it easy as any other device once you are accustomed to it. The same goes for lowering. It's a bit grippy at first but it's smooth sailing once you get the hang of it. Considering the price point and it's features, I would highly recommend it.

5
Great and really easy to use belay device. Operates a little bit different from and ATC but you figure it out fast. Also really easy to deal out rope when lead climbing. I am not sure if the little safety tab actually does anything to make the device safer, but it does keep the rope from rubbing against itself which is nice

5
Love this belay device, very nice easy to use and safe. Only issue is when lowering the climber, slightly different technique required but easy to learn.

This rope is light and durable. I mainly use mine for taller routes and multi pitch as mine is an 80m and I like the diameter of the rope as well at a 9. 4. It's not the lightest rope but I sill love it and do n't mind hauling it. I 'd recommend to beginners, intermediate and experts alike. It will get the job done and well. Just keep it flaked properly to avoid twisting.

5 ian m
Great rope. Soft catch. Knots nicely. Got the 60m. Feds through Grigri and atc smoothly. Have n't had fraying or sheath issues mentioned in other reviews. Climbed on around 15 times. More of a green color.

5 Robert G
Great rope. Out of the box, it is a little slick, but nowhere near as bad as other ropes.

5 Jan R
Great rope for most climbing. I like the strength of having the 9. 4 with 60m light to keep weight down. Smooth action through ATCs and other devices. Knots tie easy and easy to dress.

[ Gon na keep you free and clean. I haven ’ t used this in the rain yet, but really excited to leave trade my 3- 4 lbs of rain jacket and pants for something that should actually keep my drier when the skies open up and I have a backpack on. Obviously it will breath better and weight a fraction of the amount. Also, you can put it on and remove it without taking your pack off. It ’s also going camping and to all the music festivals.

5 Renee C.
[ I am not a hiker, camper, or climber. I do n't want to be eaten by bears or wind up as the subject of one of those documentaries with titles like `` so you think you 'd survive?? '' I am an urban trekker and world traveler. I do n't use umbrellas, because I need my hands free for my urban walking stick and for schlepping things. This poncho is lightweight and can be carted around in my urban backsling. Will save me from becoming drenched in places like Luxembourg where there are n't enough tall buildings to duck under when the skies open up.

5 Geraldine M.

5 David M.
[ I really like this garment. I 've always been a high- end GoreTex guy, but refuse to pay those premiums any longer. I was hoping this would give me the ventilation I needed to wear a puffy without worrying about internal moisture buildup. Did a test with walking around town 2. 5- 3 hrs in continuous light rain. I always kept my arms inside, but developed a strip of moisture along the lower arms where the front/back come together( somewhat expected, but with a slightly longer arm design could be avoided). The other problem was that the face of the fabric itself slowly leaked( it was not sweat buildup as I wore cotton layers for the test and the inner layers were completely dry). It was a small amount of water, but the rain was also light. In my judgement, this works best as a just- in- case layer, either for walking a couple of blocks in town in anything up to a downpour, or summer hiking where you might not care about getting a little damp( probably a short sleeves and shorts kind of day, with a possible shower).

Mammut Wall Rider MIPS Climbing Helmet

Overall the simple webbing layout makes for a comfortable helmet fit. ... There are cheaper ones out there if you 're newer to these sports but I highly recommend the wall rider- a good all around

See all reviews

5 Nina L
Overall, I really like this helmet. First of all, I only considered MIPS helmets due to previous personal injuries. In the climbing industry, so far, there's only a few of them as I write this: this one, Smith, and two Black Diamond ones. The Black Diamond Capitan was too heavy for me, and the other Black Diamond was a contender, but in the end, the sizing was off, and even the largest size did n't fit my head well. This Wall Rider MIPS helmet is lightweight, comfortable, and so far, it has been durable. I 've used it on 10+ trips over the course of a year, and it has n't shown wear- and- tear, although the white top has gotten scratches( cosmetic) and is no longer pure white. The only downsides I would say are that the chin strap took me a while to dial down the sizing to where I wanted it( the strap barely covers my ears) and that the helmet sometimes covers part of my eyes if I look down too much, not staying in place. That is annoying when I 'm climbing, and sometimes I have to readjust the helmet by pushing it backwards so that it does n't cover part of my top eyesight.

5 Darline D
I wore the cheapest BD helmet for years before finally choosing to upgrade. I have pretty slick hair, so I needed a helmet to stay in place. The strap system in this helmet does just that. The lightweight foam body made wearing this very comfortable on long days. I can also attest after whipping upside down that my noggin is safe and was cushioned well.

5 Michael W
Super light and comfortable helmet, love that it has MIPS as well.

5 Tobias S
This is a great helmet for climbing. It is light weight and easy to use. Mammut has great products and always great quality.

5 Richard H
This is a great all around helmet, I 've used it on long alpine days as well as crag days and it is great in either use case. I really like the extra security of the MIPS system and the hardshell design.

I bought this on someone's recommendation. It works well, even though it says it's designed for a man- not sure how a woman's harness would be different.

I have been using this device for a long while now and it is my go to for my regular gym sessions. I 've used it extensively for lead and found it's very easy to feed out slack and it locks reasonably well. Wo n't be quite as good as the gri- gri or pinch for falls but I have n't found that to be an issue.

5 Alexander B
Excellent device for lead belay. Very easy to use. After trying the Petzl NEOX a few times, I still prefer the 2. 0

5 James K
Device performs well, pays out clean and catches well skills with an ATC transfer well to this. If there is a large weight difference between the climber and belayer where the climber is the heavier it will be a bit jumpy when lowering in my experience. It takes a bit of learning to use this I would look up a video on how to operate it first. Overall a great cost effective alternative to a moving parts ABD.

5 Oliver F
This is the single best belay device I have ever used both for top rope and lead climbing. The simplicity is very nice along with the added benefit of not using so much energy to hold you climber.

5 Finn B
I have used the black diamond pilot, edelrid juul, and the Mammut Smart for recreational and instructional use for indoor lead climbing. The Mammut Smart takes the cake! It feeds the best, lowers the smoothest, and is by far the best color options on the market, all at an amazing price. I would reccommend this device to any indoor lead climber!

5 Ransom Leland B
Helmet fits very well, adjustable to fit my head perfectly, I forget that it is on my head. Weighs so little compared to my last helmet.

5 Gabriel C
Light, comfy, and feels safe. Had many concussions( unrelated to climbing) so its nice to have a helmet that doesn ’ t feel annoying to put on or wear for extended period of time

5 Craig M
This helmet is so comfortable and light I forget I have it on. I repeatedly hiked out of ice crags and alpine environments not realizing I ’ m wearing my helmet until I knocked it on the roof of my car while getting in. The best helmet is the one you don ’ t know you ’ re wearing. I previously had an old petzl hard shell helmet and while comfortable, you knew you were wearing a helmet. We ’ ll see how this holds up long term, but after most of an ice climbing season, it ’s still pristine.

5 Carver W
I 've used this solely for outdoor rock climbing so far. It's been amazing. The helmet is extremely breathable. It manages to stay on your head while your shifting it around, due to the highly adjustable fit. Numerous people have used it, and its been well liked due the the adjustability. I have used it in cold and rainy weather, and it fits seamlessly into my Mammut Eiger Extreme shell. Overall a great helmet for getting into climbing.

5 Alex J
I 've purchased many helmets for climbing/scrambling, and this is by far my favorite. It is lightweight enough that I barely notice it on my head or attached to my pack, it's extremely comfortable, and it fits over a hat if I want to wear one. I also like the low- fuss adjustments of the soft nylon straps in the back, which other helmets that I 've tried often make out of hard plastic, which can be uncomfortable. It fits snug, and though I( thankfully) have n't had to test its performance in a fall/during rockfall, I have no doubt it will do its job. I was a little worried about the durability of the exposed foam, but after carrying it through a heavy hailstorm and generally banging it around in the back of the car or on whatever summit I take it off on, I ca n't spot a single dent.

Bought a size medium for a 30in waist. It fits well but needs to be worn as small as it will go. I think if you 're perfectly in- between sizes you might want to pick the smaller size. But the medium does work, it ca n't slip over my hips.

5 Ariel
[ The harness is beautiful and is exactly as I expected it to be. It arrived quickley and is really affordable. I would definitely recommend this sit and product to a friend.. climb on!

5 Indoor climber
[ This is a very comfortable and cute harness for indoor climbing. The color is cute. True to size and comparable size to other harnesses. Has loops for carabiners.

5 GOOSE
[ Overall a great harness. The leg padding is very comfortable, though the leg loops do not adjust, it does n't seem to be an issue on the wall. I picked it up for my girlfriend who ’s just getting into climbing. It comes nicely packaged and ready to rock out the box. Sized well for the description.

5 arggimapirate
[ I 've been using this harness for the last month and have been loving it. I read a few reviews saying this harness is better for women who are n't curvy, so was hesitant to purchase- for reference I 'm 5' 8 and 160 lbs. and am very hourglass shaped. I think the best thing I can say about this harness is that I do n't notice it at all. It does n't dig in anywhere( where previous harnesses have left bruises), the padding on the legs makes it extremely comfortable to sit in, and I do n't ever find that I have to mess with adjusting it once it's on. I did make sure to measure myself and purchase according to the size chart, as the legs are not adjustable. Make sure to do that homework to get a good fit for yourself. Love the colors, the materials, and the carrying case it comes with. All around it's been a win for me!

In my initial use, I found the rope a great option for alpine use when you want a full strength rope. The dry coat seemed to work great, as I had it in the snow with no freezing issues. At this price point, I recommend the rope.

5 Martin L.
One of my favorites ropes to take to the sierras for trad climbing, light but durable enough for your sport climbing projects as well.

5 Benjamin D.
First rope I have owned. It was recommended to me by a friend. Perfect size, light weight but feels safe!

Just got back from climbing a few mountains in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru and got a chance to put the Vision Helmet to the test. Great fit and super lightweight. It has adjustment points for when you have a bennie on or when you do n't so you get a good fit every time. Highly recommend! I would travel with it in your carry- on so it does n't get damaged.
