As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. I bought these for a trip to Scotland, which I have n't gone on yet, but I 've been wearing them around town to break them in to get an idea if they 'll be comfy or not. So far, they have no `` hot spots ''. I normally wear a size 6. I bought a size 6. They fit true to size. My pinky toe( the usual blister spot) has no complaints. The toe box is comfortable- not too sloppy or tight. The heel( mine is a tad narrow) is also feeling happy with the width. My ankle bones are picky and a bit thin- skinned, so that was my hesitation on getting taller boots. I 've worn them several miles, and for several days, all day, and there's no hot spots on the ankle either. The stone color is pretty, and I love the contrast with the lavender colored laces. The laces are easy to change out. The boots are light weight, so your legs do n't get tired. It has n't rained, so I ca n't attest to the waterproof- ness of these, but the tongue is attached almost to the top- about where the eyelets change to hooks. The tongue is padded. I wore my zero cushion wool socks with these and my feet were warm and comfy all day.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit! The shoes seemed narrow at first, but after wearing them a couple of times, they ’ re as comfortable as my Moab ’s.

Thirty years ago I suffered a severe mid foot crush fracture which is now arthritic combined with areas of non- union. I have worn Morrell Moab 3 ’s for many years with orthotics and had the best support possible, but the antora has given me amazing pain free ambulation while walking our rural property and roads, as well as while shopping and walking the dogs. The boots are great! Handled spring time in Colorado so raining, ice, sleet and then snow all in one day. I mucked horse stalls and had very warm feet while doing that chore. Most comfortable trail shoes I ’ ve ever worn. They are comfortable at the arch and don ’ t create hotspots on the top of my foot from the laces. They could work very easily work as slip ons if they came with elastic laces. I like the height that they give me without feeling like I ’ m wearing lifts.

[ I have plantar fasciitis and lately my feet are always hurting. I really love these shoes and my feet feel great after wearing them for 1- 2 mile walks or an all day outing. My orthotics fit in these perfectly. Without my orthotics the shoes rubbed against my ankle, but the inserts lifted my heel just enough so that was not an issue anymore. They are much more rigid than my typical athletic shoes, but that is probably beneficial in my case. I will definitely replace these with the same shoe when the time comes.

[ A well constructed hiking boot. The out- of- box fit was snug, but comfortable, and should improve with use. The Vibram outsoles are a bit stiff but provide excellent traction on rocky terrain typical in Mid State PA. Overall the Kailash Trek GTX is a 5 star rated boot

This is my forth pair of these shoes. I wear them every day( whether I 'm going hiking or going to work) and they me last 4- 5 years. I like them because they 're very comfortable and the GORE- TEX keeps my feet dry. They also get a great grip on the trail and protect my feet from all manner of trail hazards. On the negative side, the sole separates from the shoe after a few years. It ’s possible to glue the sole back on, but for what these cost, the soles shouldn ’ t come unglued.

[ The boots are amazingly comfortable. I have worn them on camping trips with some water crossings, hiking, general outdoor activities, and also some around the house work. Once I figured out how to tie them to fit my foot better I could n't hardly tell I had them on. They breathe well and my feet feel fresh and dry. I also wear wool socks which add to that. That traction is there for me in everything I 've put them through. I believe I 've found my new favorite boots.

[ This is my 4th pair of scarpa boots that I own and these are the best. I wear them for work everyday and hiking. These boots may be on more of the aggressive side but they ware like a lite hiking boot.
