This is the greatest shoe, at first I was concerned due the fact I have flat feet, planters facitist, knee pain and back pain. The traditional Hokas have a very thick sole and absord impacts. These shoes are so comfortable and perform just as well as my two pairs of Hoka tennis shoes. I can wear these shoes all day standing in one spot or walking around. They are very comfortable with plenty of room in the toe box which is often an issue for me. I sized up 1 size from dress shoes worn with no socks to accommodate cushioned hiking socks. Excellent light hiker as I hike about 5 miles or less per day. Shoelaces tend to slip and untie so I double knot them.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

The wrap mid ’s fit great, and you will love the wide toe box. I ware an 11. 5 in just about everything and these are no different. I live in the desert and the tread pattern is gripping on all surfaces so far no issues. It hasn ’ t rained here yet so we will still have to see how they grip on wet pavement and rocks. I ’ ve worn these Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots daily for the past 8 months as a residential electrician in Southern California. As someone who usually wears barefoot- style shoes( Vivobarefoot, Flux, Lems Primal, and Altra Lone Peaks), I was pleasantly surprised by how well these hold up in a work environment. Fit& Comfort: I wear a size 13( EU 47), and the fit is perfect. If you ’ re in between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, definitely go up a size. These boots have a bit more cushion and slight arch support compared to more minimal brands like Vivo, but in a construction setting, I actually appreciate the extra sole thickness. My feet feel supported without losing that barefoot connection — and best of all, they ’ re not fatigued at the end of a long day. Performance: Traction is solid with good grip, though the aggressive lugs can hold onto dirt and debris. It hasn ’ t been an issue for me in SoCal, but it ’s something to keep in mind in muddier regions. Waterproofing has held up well. Durability: After 8 months of use, the only real sign of wear is the toe box starting to separate slightly. Not a dealbreaker, but something I hope Merrell improves in future versions. Wishlist for Future Versions: • A non- waterproof high- top version would be amazing — same support, but more breathability for dry climates. • Stronger toe construction to improve long- term durability. Bottom Line: If you ’ re looking for a minimalist- inspired boot that can handle job sites, this is one of the best options out there. It strikes a rare balance between barefoot feel and real- world utility.

I ’ m a size 12 through and through, but these in the same size were tight. The toe box is smaller than normal. Also you need to take into account feet swelling and perhaps thicker socks. I wore these for the first time all day hiking around Grand Cyn Village. I was surprised there was no uncomfortable rubbing or stiffness which is very common with new hiking shoes. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. I wanted to share my positive experience with these hiking boots. I recently wore them on a Boy Scout summer camp trip to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina, and I was particularly impressed with their waterproof capabilities. I accidentally slipped into a shallow part of the river, and my feet remained completely dry. These boots were comfortable right out of the box, requiring minimal, if any, break- in time. I walked nearly 20 miles over the week, and my feet felt great throughout. I purchased them on sale, likely due to the color, which does tend to show dirt more easily. However, with a soft toothbrush and soap, they cleaned up almost as good as new. I was also surprised by the durability of the tread, as it showed almost no wear, despite other reviews indicating significant wear. Overall, I highly recommend these hiking boots.

I purchased these because I was looking for a comfy, still warm, but light boot to travel to South Africa with. I went in June so it ’s their approaching winter. As soon as I opened the box I loved the design and especially the air pockets. The bottom shoe design has pretty good grip. On various surfaces. Including some pretty epic rocks and boulders on Table Top Mountain. They have a wide front design to mimic your natural toe spacing, so there not bunched up. Which made for a person like me with Flinestone flat feet even more able to walk for hours and climb. Honestly it felt more like a barefoot sneaker which was perfect for me. I did not test the shoes on a rigid and rough climbing ability, but mediocre climbing they did great. Also had no issue with water getting inside, except the top part due to me not having them laced to the top. Shoe was easy to clean as well. Used a towel to wipe off. I also loved the fact I didn ’ t need to break them in by wearing them for a few days on and off before the trip. Like I said right out the box adventure ready!. Overall, I ’ m extremely happy with my purchase.

[ I hike and walk my dog in the woods and I walk through rivers and streams a lot. I need shoes that: 1) Are supportive enough to actually hike in-- and 2) I can walk through and INTO muddy, rocky rivers and streams in( usually chasing my dog)-- and 3) Then keep hiking-- and 4) Have them dry overnight or faster so I can wear them again. It has been SOOO difficult to find these. `` Water Sandals '' are not supportive enough to hike in and THEY HURT, and are so open that all sorts of rocks and stones get into them and under your feet, and those rigid straps give me blisters. Standard `` waterproof '' shoes still let water in at the top if you actually submerge your feet-- and I do-- and get soaked from the inside out. And then take DAYS to dry. These shoes are closed with mesh( no rocks and stones getting in) and are MEANT TO GET WET and then dry quickly. And they actually are soft, and do n't give me blisters even without socks and everything gives me blisters!! WHY were these so hard to find? I would give 10 stars if I could, and have SERIOUSLY tried and tried to find shoes like these. You wo n't find them anywhere else( which I do n't understand).

I 've only done a 9 mile hike so far but this `` Hiking Sneaker '' can handle it. I hiked over some very jagged rocks, mud, and even snow and it handled it like it was nothing as the high ankle support and decently grippy traction held up very well. I expected some damage to the outsole afterwards as I was stepping on rocks at sharp angles but to my surprise they held up. It's definitely gotten dirty by now but I got the beige colorway so it kind of blends in. The upper of this hiking sneaker is definitely much tighter and it hurt a bit when I started my hike but keep in mind I have flat feet and other reviews of this sneaker say that you need to break it in which was true later on in my hike as they did n't hurt at all. This shoe is definitely for me as I 'm not a serious hiker, I chose this shoe because I liked the looks of it and wanted a more serious shoe outside of my Ultraboost ATRs which are more focused for trails rather than hiking. I plan on taking this on many more hikes though.

I 've had these Leikis for a month now and still love them. I wanted something for urban dog walks that would keep my feet dry in rain and puddles but with enough traction to handle light trails. Perfect for shoulder- season weather when it's wet but not yet cold enough for heavier boots. They 're lightweight and cushy. At the store, I compared these to the Versacore. The Leiki is more snug around the heel and arch, but the toe box is still roomy. The Leiki toe box also has more structure and kept its shape, while the Versacore would crease and press against the top of my toes with each step which I found annoying. I liked the lower heel height of the Versacore, but ended up going with the cushier Leiki which seemed to also have more structure for ankle stability.

I purchased these for hiking in some National Parks and they exceeded my expectations. Tread and grip on damp terrain is great. Works just as well on dry terrain. Decided to get Wide for extra comfort and still had sufficient support with the extra toe wiggle room. Found the laces a little short, but replaced them with a longer set and was all set!

Bought these boots a month ago and just returned from a week in Paris and wore these everyday, all day. Average miles walked: 8. Very comfortable and warm. I have sensitive feet and was surprised the arch was supportive enough and that the heel area was narrow enough to keep heel in place. I brought my hiking shoes to wear and after three hours I took them off( heel and top of foot were hurting) and put on these boots. Enough structure to hold foot in place.

[ Super sharp looking and great for hikes. I had to get the 7's stretched out a bit, but then they fit perfectly( I 'm normally a 6. 5 but wanted room for socks). Have n't had a chance to test out the waterproofing, but I bought these for a trip to Belize in the rainy season, so I guess we 'll see!

This is my second pair of this shoe. I wore the first pair nearly every day, year round for three years until the soles wore down. Fit perfectly from day 1 and I used them for hiking, ordinary wear around town, and even to a casual restaurant dinner. Got many compliments along the way. I am male, wear a men's size US 6/Euro 39 shoe, and have difficulty finding my size, and a women's size 7. 5 works with this shoe. Asolo was a new brand name for me and I 'm sold on their quality and fit. The waterproof feature is a bonus, especially in winter.

[ I love the look of these and they were generally comfortable, but just wearing them around the house for a few minutes it was clear that the narrow footbed would be a problem on longer hikes, so sadly having to return. I do n't have particularly wide feet and usually do fine in regulars from other brands, these just run more narrow than most. They do also seem to run large- probably best to try in a store if you can.
